I LOVE Tia's explanation of why she identify as a Black woman. It's like she says, no matter what her father is, the WORLD sees her and treat her like s Black woman. And it's her chioce of how she identifies.
But, she's contribute to the erasure of monoracial Black women! Black women in media and film/tv always putting racially ambiguous or mixed racial women for Black women representation. It's not right! There's a difference in lived experienced as a Black person who has 2 Black parents vs one Black parent. She keeps saying problematic stuff just like her saying she wants represent Black hair with her hair line. She has mixed hair and can't relate to Black people who have kinky hair compared to her fine 4a or 4b textured hair! It's offensive, I don't want a mixed person claiming to represent me bc they can’t. There's nothing wrong with identifying as mixed race, it's own category and community!
@@anthd6747 Yeah she is biracial, but how does she look anymore biracial than Vanessa Williams who isn’t biracial? And yeah she has white in her, but she’s not a white woman and can never go around saying she is.
I like this lady, Ms. Lizzy’s essence especially her choice in a husband from the community. That needs to be celebrated and replicated amongst our men and women seeking mates. I am just discovering Ms. Lizzy and plan to watch her programs and patronize sponsors.
Sister Sister was really important for black twins all over the World 😅 I grew up in the French West Indies (Guadeloupe) with my twin sister… That was representation on another level ♥️
Yeah, but now ppl are saying Tia and Tamera aren’t even black at all because they’re biracial. They were biracial back in the 90’s too but still considered black.
therapeutical to watch! seeing we all human;indeed the growing pains, family does can make it u hard to breath, the expectations, not much room letting eachother to just be, etc.
Amazing conversation!!! Especially that self love part. Me as a man I get it too. Keep up the great work love! ❤ So beyond sorry to hear about your mom.
Amazing that this is just being released though she is in the process of divorce. Very eye opening discussion ‼️ It would be great if she and Cory reunite/reconcile.
Tia doesn’t mention her Christianity anymore or God for some reason. She use to. Even Cory mentioned God on the BET Awards red carpet in June. I wonder if her relationship with God had anything to do with their divorce. Maybe Cory is into his Christian faith and Jesus and Tia isn’t anymore.
Confused about when this talk was first recorded. Anyway, race passes from mothers to children. However balanced sons should desire wives who look like their moms. Daughters should want to replicate their fathers in their choices of husbands.
They were around their mother more in regards to Hollywood. Their dad was in the military so it makes sense. They always talk positively of their dad though
@@melbel10333while you are somewhat right I do think this is a problem though. It’s so easy to belittle the role of the father because they are just seen as providers as opposed to mothers who are seen as nurturers. We really do need to start appreciating fathers more. Being able to provide is a HUGE difference between living a privileged life versus an unprivileged one.
How Tia describes her self love journey. Giving her self her own flowers, chasing joy. This is where I am. I’m inspired 💜
So true!! She knows how to put it into perspective

@@_cup_of_teawhat is mixed hair? Black ppl with two black parents can have her hair texture and biracial ppl can have 4C hair.
Thats crazy!...you know shes white also ...she looks biracial not black!

Funny if she said she was white not black and choice to identify as such it would be outrage she should except she is mixed not both black and white

She failed to say that her mother is a born again Christian! Mother was praying!!!
Tamera will always mentions that but not Tia…

this was filmed prior to her divorce!

Poor father, given zero love or recognition. All the adulation and thanks goes to the mother, nothing for the father. Sad....Kevin Samuels was right.
She's just telling how it happened
