Hey all, it's been a week since I contracted covid, so this is an upload from the course at designcourse.com - Go there to enter your email and be notified when it launches on January 4 of 2022!
anybody can tell me how i can add auto layout (15:11) to both elements without having them placed next or underneath each other? it doesnt work for me to keep the text within the rectangle. Thanks in advance.
@@WebDesignerAmy In meantime, I have done it the 'long way': duplicating the frame, creating the end result, then connecting the the 2 frames and animating. Of course having the hover effect via the variants is so much simpler and less 'messy'! Looking forward to the answer!
@@WebDesignerAmy of course! Kevin Powell is easy to follow. use this link: ruclips.net/video/ps6p9e6QmgY/видео.html the hover for button starts at min 6:06.
A few minor critiques (from someone way less experienced than you are) I think the search icon should on the right, after (reading left to right) the search input (in most countries) I think it's important to highlight accessbility, ux, and tab indicies for the navigation specifically, as well as the ux of the dropdown menu a common design pattern is a cta button, which raises conversion rates
Gary made a point once, when he said, you can use the first item or the first few items of the link menu, when there is space, and then use the hamburger menu for the (more) link. I do agree with Gary, that using space which is there is logical, but I would say an arrow is more intuitive as a (more) link than a hamburger menu: which shows all links menuitem1 menuitem2 menuitem3 menuitem4 ...then as the window schrinks: menuitem1 menuitem2 --> menuitem3 menuitem4 but with an arrow introduced when at least one link is not shown. Now, this can actually be implemented using the ::first-line pseudo element and media querries, and I do like it better than the hamburger menu. The design will fit naturally and shrink naturally with the window, rather than replacing menu items with a "ham, burger" which UX analyzis say some people have a hard time understanding. I have only seen this kind of design very few places, and I wonder how it performs compared to the hamburger menu.
Hey Gary I hope you see this. Been having issues with prototyping, when I try to connect the variants, it only selects the text instead of the “component “

hope you get fine soon
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU For creating a video without overly stimulating, loud, stressful music.
It's good that you're in better health, Gary.
Thanks for the video and the best for you :)
I'm not yet, ha. It's getting old! Hopefully within a few days it'll be done.
@@DesignCourse Get well Soon! Gary.
GWS Gary. Thanks for the Figma tutorial. It is somehow better than XD from a glance. I hope you make another Figma tutorial in the future!
i really needed this at this time, since I was actually working on a layout but was unableto properly prototype
Get well Gary. I totally feel for ya, had it before the vaccines came out. Symptoms are no joke, hope for a quick recovery. Thanks for the tutorial!
Waiting for 4th Jan 22' . For the Course. Loved this one.

Wow! Thanks for this. Good insight and very good design thoughts!
am I missing something? when I link a variant to hover state, I do not get an option of 'Change to' ... (min 18:23)
I just noticed this too. Have yet to find a solution. Gary?

Love your videos😍
Will this be in your Design Course? I just reached the button design video. Never mind I was eager and went thru the tutorial. Pretty darn slick.

hey man! badly missing your coding tuts!

This interactive is only in beta for us to use, so I can't get to do it the same way.

Wonderful
Thanks
It would be nice if the resolution a bit reduced for next design video. 🙂
