With the green cardigan, you should take off the bottom button and sew it where the missing button is! I think if you want to wear it buttoned you’ll probably be tucking it in so the bottom button being missing wouldn’t matter! Also, I would love a chatty “mend with me” video where you alter stuff you’ve been meaning to alter
I came to say the same thing! If you end up wanting a bottom button, you could pick a statement button that's clearly contrasting on purpose (I think a white or green flower shape button would be really cute)
i’m packing to go on a trip with my husband with this video in the background, and as you’re holding the dress from rabbit rabbit rabbit designs i was also holding my rabbit rabbit rabbit designs vest, i’ll take that as a sign that i should pack it lol!
This reminds me of when I’m thrifting by myself and seriously consider asking a total stranger for their opinion on a piece 😂 you found so much cute stuff, I'm glad the dresses worked out! I'm sure whoever ends up with the purple cardigan will be in love with it! Also Hot Topic is where I got my Sailor Moon shirts!
I actually have gotten to know my Savers employees and will either ask them, or ask a stranger what they think lol. I've even asked a stranger to check the tag on my jeans once because i found a similar pair in a different color, but wasn't sure what size i was wearing lol 😂 sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do
Just move the very bottom button up or the very top button down to replace the missing one. Usually no one notices if the top or bottom button is missing because it's usually left open or is tucked in, respectively.
I do the “reverse” and move top button to the missing spot and use a unique statement button for the top spot. I have a stash of those extra buttons that often come with clothes and have used them in similar situations. Also can use a vintage scatter pin for the top button. 😊
Love a good cohesive color palette thrift haul that basically comes out looking like a collection. 😂❤ I just did this yesterday with lots of baby pink/black/floral. Kind of ballet core vibes but more diverse.
So sorry you were having a bad day, but glad that everything worked out and you truly did find some gems! And even if you spent a lot, you put a lot back and only got the ones that really spoke to you.
I’m so glad the thrift trip lifted your mood, you sure are a ray of sunshine in our day. Those finds were perfect on you. I once bought something out of practicality, and then had to go back and exchange it for something similar that really made me happy instead. You’re right, that is what it’s all about
Alexa, this thrift haul was EPIC!!! I am so in love with the Urban Outfitters dress!! It looks incredible on you and you were truly meant to have it in your life 🥰 I just had a brain blast for a new video idea!! Gather all the pieces you want to alter and have Jenna Phipps alter them with you!!! She’s an incredible sewer and I LOVE watching you two together!! Win win!! Anyways thanks for sharing another amazing video with us!! You found some outstanding pieces for Spring! 💜
This is such a cute haul! I love watching thrifting videos but the pieces people end up getting are usually very different from my personal taste. You are the exception, I really love your style! Everything you picked up in this video, inclusing the pieces you were considering but didn't get, was absolutely adorable.
that pink ruffle dress is so good! also for the green cardigan, when something is missing a button I like to add a "statement button" to the very top, and use the top button to replace the missing one
Best tip for clothes missing a button: take the top button off and use it to replace the missing one, then just use any funky button as a statement for the top button!
Omg the dresses in this episode! 😍 I’ve literally shared all your emotions about thrifting as if I was doing myself 😅 congratulations on the new pieces in your wardrobe!
You would have rocked both the gingham two piece, and the black floaty dress with the white overlay! With your chunky black boots, it would have been perfection!
For the missing button, take off the top button and sew it where where missing on should be, buy a different maybe statement button for the top one, makes a cool look if you just button the top one with a jazzy button!
With that cardigan, I would personally 100% remove all of those buttons and buy another pack and replace them all. Replacing buttons is pretty simple, and you could even get some cute novelty ones to replace with (with that green, thinking flowers, bees, ect)! And if you like the buttons it's got, you could still keep them, I'm sure they'd come in handy for another project in the future!
I had the best thrift trip of my life last week!!! There must be something in the air. People must be spring cleaning and giving all the goodness to Savers
I live in upstate NY and the thrift gods have graced me with so many nice cashmere and merino wool sweaters in the past 2 years. If only I could find the brown cardigan I have on my thrift wish list, I would be so happy!
I literally CROSSED my fingers when you said the green cardigan was a maybe 😭 I love it so much and when you said the material was buttery soft!! I knew you needed it 🥰
You can search for a button that fits the idea of the other buttons from the cardigan but is like more of a statement, maybe a gold one and put it as the top one and do the matching in the place where the one is missing, it gives a nice little touch without loosing full functionality 🧡
I always love it when you upload, and you found such cute finds!!! You seem so overjoyed, and it radiated through the screen! You truly found such cute pieces and I loved seeing the ones you didn't get too. The black and white dress and blazer was amazing and I would love to see someone like Jenna work it into a 2 piece 😍😍
Sometimes retail therapy can go so extremely _badly_ because we end up buying everything and anything.. You found so many beautiful things and you made the greatest choices for yourself, Alexa! I'm so glad that you were able to find these pieces of sunshine on such a dreary day. :)
That denim/peasant skirt mix looks EXACTLY like a skirt I had in middle school that I thought was super cute. My family couldn't understand why I loved it lol
I reckon you're a Light Spring (colour season) as a guess! So you'd suit light, bright (but not too intense) yellow toned (i.e. warm and sunny) colours rather than darker, or more muted soft (potentially wishy-washy) colours. Whenever you do get draped, it'll be interesting to see if I'm right!
Love the haul! Bodies are funny. I'm also between a S/M but have broad shoulders and a larger chest so I'm always worried that items will be too tight around the shoulders/chest - so I feel envious watching the opposite!
You could try purposfully not matching the buttons on that green cardigan (so glad you picked it up, the color looks so good on you!) A light pink button or one of those cute daisy shaped buttons would look intresting!
the stuff you got is so cute!! That pink cardigan with the peter pan collar was sooo cute though, would have totally taken that for myself :D I'm going to LA in a few weeks and there will be a savers nearby, I'm so excited to check it!
Sometimes cardigans have an extra button attached to the side tag. People don’t notice it, so even when they lose a button they don’t realise it’s an easy fix. Check there first before altering buttons, it might be there.
Somehow make that green and white checked dress work, it is ADORABLE on you! I am wishing you would have tried that off the shoulder white top too, the sleeves were perfect. Plus it looked like cotton. Too much polyester out there!
When it comes to off the shoulder tops, take a piece of elastic and see it under your arm. From the front of the top to the back of the top like where your armpit is. If that makes sense lol. But it seriously works to hold them in place and keep them there!
Moving one of the buttons you are less likely to use to the empty spot might be a solution to the green cardigan. One from the very top or bottom. If you want to replace the button with a different style, perhaps a more decorative one, put it at the top of the sweater and the other button in the spot where it's missing. cute stuff.
Those buttons are actually pretty common. Perhaps wear the sweater to the fabric store to find its perfect match. They are usually only about $2 for a set. The gingham dress looks familiar. Very cute though
Alexa, I have you heard you talk about how sweaters make you itch. If you research yarns, fabric, and synthetics you can address this issue. You will find the right combination for you so that you are comfortable. Blends and not pure wool, except top cashmere, will be best. Or, don’t wear wool at all. Rayon, cotton, silk, with acrylic might be more comfortable. Further, the wash and care of these textiles is important to consider. Delicate cycle or hand wash, cool water not hot, and hang or lay flat to dry. I had to learn all this and it helped! Enjoy your channel, thank you!
What I fun video! I loved every single thing you purchased and you looked fantastic in the try-on portion. You have great taste and style! Oh and edited to add - one good tip I have for something missing a unique button. Move the uppermost one down to the missing spot. Now find a unique button you love and put it back in the first button place. I wear mostly silver so I usually go with a sparkly silver bling-type button. You wear a lot of gold so I am sure you could find a fun gold button. Hope this helps!
That white floral high neck dress that you put back, it’s so funny you said that you didn’t like the neckline but that is MY NECKLINE. Like that is my love, my identity, it makes me feel so confident but I don’t like the square, which I know is what your fave is. Fashion tastes are so interesting
With the green cardigan, you should take off the bottom button and sew it where the missing button is! Also, I would love a chatty “mend with me” video where you alter stuff you’ve been meaning to alter
This is one of the best practical sewing tips. Would have never thought of that! BRB as I fix my closet 😅
I do that a lot (move the bottom button up to where the missing button is) but I don’t even bother to stitch the bottom buttonhole closed 🙂
maybe she could replace them all for simple buttons that were all the same
I came to say the same thing! If you end up wanting a bottom button, you could pick a statement button that's clearly contrasting on purpose (I think a white or green flower shape button would be really cute)
@@kaejulian4223 this could be fun for the top one too! almost necklace vibes
That dress really just proved the motto, “if you love something, let it go. If it comes back it was meant to be.” 😂
i’m packing to go on a trip with my husband with this video in the background, and as you’re holding the dress from rabbit rabbit rabbit designs i was also holding my rabbit rabbit rabbit designs vest, i’ll take that as a sign that i should pack it lol!
A jean jacket over the peach ruffle dress makes it casual
🙌🏼🙌🏼

Also Hot Topic is where I got my Sailor Moon shirts!
I so wish I had friends who loved thrifting as much as I do/and our schedules aligned for this reason. 🥹
You should ask. I love when people ask me my opinion lol
As a thifter who thrifts alone most the time you should ask someone most of us love to chat with ya and give our opionion❤
@@juliekoss5564I have a question
I actually have gotten to know my Savers employees and will either ask them, or ask a stranger what they think lol. I've even asked a stranger to check the tag on my jeans once because i found a similar pair in a different color, but wasn't sure what size i was wearing lol 😂 sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do
I liked all the pieces you purchased. They were amazing on you. I was sorry to see you leave that lavender, crocheted collar sweater. It was adorable.
Just move the very bottom button up or the very top button down to replace the missing one. Usually no one notices if the top or bottom button is missing because it's usually left open or is tucked in, respectively.

That white dress was so simple but so STUNNING
So sorry you were having a bad day, but glad that everything worked out and you truly did find some gems! And even if you spent a lot, you put a lot back and only got the ones that really spoke to you.
i love starting my day off w an alexa thrift haul she makes my day

Would love to see you altering items you already have in your closet that you don’t wear into something you like! 💘🥰

Everything you picked up in this video, inclusing the pieces you were considering but didn't get, was absolutely adorable.
The music selection during thrifting was on point❤ & your hair looks amazing. Loved the video 😊
For the cardigan you could swap all the buttons to whatever buttons you like, maybe pearls?
Went thrifting with a friend out of my immediate area yesterday and got some goodies!! I'm getting better at leaving items I just don't need behind.
LOVED this so much!! You've inspired me to do a spring thrift trip of my own
Everything you found is so cute and fun! That green is definitely your color.💚💚💚
that pink ruffle dress is so good! also for the green cardigan, when something is missing a button I like to add a "statement button" to the very top, and use the top button to replace the missing one
The way you styled the off-white slip dress is perfection!!!
Best tip for clothes missing a button: take the top button off and use it to replace the missing one, then just use any funky button as a statement for the top button!
The sailor moon shirt 😱 I couldn’t resist buying that. No matter the size it would be in my cart.

18:48 omg alexa looks so stunning in this specific lighting. ofc shes always really pretty tho!!
Probably my favorite videos are your thrift with me ones 🥰 but your styling videos gave really gotten to be good as well 🙂❤️
The pistachio green cardigan is pretty! Take the bottom button off and move it to where it is missing higher up.
For the missing button, take off the top button and sew it where where missing on should be, buy a different maybe statement button for the top one, makes a cool look if you just button the top one with a jazzy button!

Really great finds!

The green cardigan is very romcomcore!
Both spring dresses and the green cardigan, omg, they are absolutely gorgeous!! 🥰💖
I lovee your hair in the sit down portion! would love to know how you got the waves! 👾
Thanks so much! For the first time in years I decided to try and style my natural waves just to help not using heats so much ❤️
7.99 for a used tshirt, these thrift stores are crazy! Reel it back in!! Great haul

Definitely a warm tone because she wears gold jewelry
Oh gosh that pink dress with the shoes was stunning
So unrelated but your hair colour looks SO good in this video??? Like ur always my hair inspo but this more muted blonde suits you so well!!!!
omg you made my day 😭❤
I'm so glad you did got the pink ruffle dress! It's such a gem
love this! if there’s something u like but it’s not a great color/ has slight stains you could always dye it! just a thought :)
Love the haul! Bodies are funny. I'm also between a S/M but have broad shoulders and a larger chest so I'm always worried that items will be too tight around the shoulders/chest - so I feel envious watching the opposite!
That green gingham dress omg
i’m SCREAMING at the gingham dress 😍 what a dream!
I know right !!!
Love that green cardi. Just move the top or the bottom button to replace the missing one (or you could replace them all).
Your videos always brighten my day!! ❤
I love how you're so considerate of others and take time to blur out other shoppers. 😊
Regarding the cardigan, I always take the top button to replace the missing one - and put a diamente button at the top! xx
I just bought a catsuit/bodysuit from old navy. Specifically for thrifting! So much easier since the fitting rooms are closed.
You could try purposfully not matching the buttons on that green cardigan (so glad you picked it up, the color looks so good on you!) A light pink button or one of those cute daisy shaped buttons would look intresting!
I’m so in love with that gingham dress omg 😍😍
I loved everything you got!! 💞 Such stunning pieces!
That white dress in 5:13, I have the same dress like that also. I thrifted that kind of dress like 4 years ago and it is so nice tho.
Absolutely loved your hair during the try-on talking portion ❤
the stuff you got is so cute!! That pink cardigan with the peter pan collar was sooo cute though, would have totally taken that for myself :D I'm going to LA in a few weeks and there will be a savers nearby, I'm so excited to check it!

Idk what it is about that purple floral dress, but I'm OBSESSED
The blazer with matching dress was so cute! Maybe one day I’ll find something similar :)
The green and purple cardigans are so beautiful
Oh! That off white slip dress 🤩
so many cute dresses!! loveee the first one
I love the green gingham dress
The ruffle dress gives me last splash vibes from the aquamarine movie!
i’m in love with that champagne dress. i would go see the barbie movie in that dress
That UO flower dress is super cute on you.
oh my i'm never this early! love you so much, alexa
Somehow make that green and white checked dress work, it is ADORABLE on you! I am wishing you would have tried that off the shoulder white top too, the sleeves were perfect. Plus it looked like cotton. Too much polyester out there!
Ohhh that white slip is such a good find!!
I loved that grey floral skirt. I wouldn't wear it since I don't do short skirts, but so cute!
I want to thrift a gingham dress so bad 😍 well done!
When it comes to off the shoulder tops, take a piece of elastic and see it under your arm. From the front of the top to the back of the top like where your armpit is. If that makes sense lol. But it seriously works to hold them in place and keep them there!

For the green cardigan, you could sew the last button and bring it to the top to hide the fact that you’re missing a button
Moving one of the buttons you are less likely to use to the empty spot might be a solution to the green cardigan. One from the very top or bottom. The light pink dress that is light material you could open all the bottoms and use as a “vest” as a third piece.
