This was by far the biggest problem to address. Today we have different issues and therefore require different actions. War, financial crisis, recessions, Covid, September 11…. Most of the times, presidents end up having to manage stuff that was not what they signed up for. This is why point 3 is important. 3. Values, character, moral compass, who do you chose to stand for (the wealthy or the middle-class) … are what guides the decisions you have to make when stuff happens that wasn’t planned.

1. Vice-presidents don’t run the country. Presidents do. Do you think Mike Pence was calling the shots (or any shot for that matter) when Trump was president?
2. Circumstances changes. When Biden-Harris came into office, it was right into Covid. This was by far the biggest problem to address. Today we have different issues and therefore require different actions. War, financial crisis, recessions, Covid, September 11…. Most of the times, presidents end up having to manage stuff that was not what they signed up for. This is why point 3 is important.
3. Values, character, moral compass, who do you chose to stand for (the wealthy or the middle-class) … are what guides the decisions you have to make when stuff happens that wasn’t planned.

You’re feeling pretty good one day and a few months later it deteriorates rapidly. I am pretty sure this is what has happened to M. Biden in recent time. This is why bench strenght is important. To have smart, dedicated and autonomous people around you to pick up the slack. I am pretty sure that if it would have been Trump dealing with the same health issues, the result would not have been as smooth.
