Half-Life 2 | Metrocop protects me

I wanted to see if I could escape the Metropolice's ambush, so I brought some objects with me. I tried to break the windows but then I noticed one of the Metrocops was blocking the others.
It turns out that this specific Metrocop (and I believe the other one that is blocking the other door) is not programmed to immediately chase Gordon, but instead to block the door. When you get close to him he starts chasing you and you can get past him, but he won't chase you for long and will return to his spot. It just so happened that I managed to get past this one Metrocop and he stopped chasing me before the other Metrocops got to enter the room, resulting in them getting blocked.
Thanks, Metrocop buddy! Gordon is now safe....... but how is he going to get out of the room?
