Best example is see the areas built in the ear of British I.e engineers like vishweshwaraiah . British were good administrators and at management and indias were good engineers. Hence City planned during them like old Mysore and some parts of bangalore has less of this problem it's well planned and enough space , lakes given for water to drain. Then comes post independence indian administration, management and Engineers one of the worst combination. Because we don't have ethics and all are corrupt by favoursim, birbe , cast , creed etc. As simple as that . We had very good engineers then and now. But administration and management are corrupt to the core.

People don't know the importance of building bylaws, layouts standards, people give bribe for the non technical plan's approval & face this problem they buy problem giving bribe 🙄🙄 it's not prblm of engineers even if u try to teach importance they don't want to "waste" Land
BBMP and people also responsible for this. People should see before buying whether it is plan sanction is legal/illegal
and low laying area or not.BBMP should take the responsibility of correction if it has sanctioned the plan.
All these water logs are basically related with substandard works done by BBMP /BDA etc.. Its an National waste too and a burden to common public in terms of cost..Corrupted officers/engineers never look the quality of the works specified in the given tender/work order...
another reason is patch works/pathole filling, which is not right to do. They all are wasting National resources/Minerals. Authorities/their agencies carry out the drain cleaning works in summer and start doing the pathhole filling just a week before a rain starts or during rainy..again bring the filled pathole components back to drain...
PWD Road works in early 1990 was better and atlease were giving us a year oe two span of durability..
present works is just to make a money by Officials /their agencies with zero quality...

Unplanned civic works with substandard materials,,daily digging bad roads, with u turns sub mainroads crossing no undepass or over bridges ,potholes.,overflowing manholes , loose cables lying hanging ,over populated, crowded traffic with lots of online deliveries ,public,private transports, has made life miserable for bangloreans.Better late than never it should be maintained.

First and only solution is demolition of encroachment, Do you know in my place that is in Kadugudi ward we have a river named Dakshinapinakini. On the banks of the river new layouts are being formed without buffer zone. Now the river is limited to drainage size. The people who are buying the sites in these layouts are so called HIGH literates. In future these are the people who show up in television saying as above video.
