@@richardcheung3232 Did you even read the comics?… He has always been a likeable himbo, his mistakes were not out of malice, he's just really dumb. The motivation for the exes to team up was literally stated to be bad coping mechanisms. That's the entire point, that Scott could've become like them if he hadn't accepted his blame. Older Scott makes no sense at all. Most of the side characters are fleshed out: Matthew is that insecure kid who gets hung up on something that happened in middle school. Lucas does not really care, he became famous and just joined for the money, being a 'sellout', and to feel important, his whole deal is that he wants to be seen as cool after Ramona left him. Todd is a narcissist prick, and it hurt his ego that Ramona left him. Roxie was also chill, crashing at Ramona's house, she only fights Scott because she thinks he's cheating on Ramona with Lisa. The twins, well… it's obvious why they have beef with her. Gideon was another narcissist who couldn't handle Ramona leaving. Compared to the anime where somehow "all bad guys eventually turn good?". Todd having an out of character sexual crisis, doesn't take away from the fact that he's a narcissist? Mathew gains confidence from beating Scott and somehow beats Gideon? They took all the seriousness and power from Gideon, he's supposed to be crazy, not painfully pathetic. Lucas Lee is now a barista, I guess is the only one that made sense. The twins are just there and somehow become best friends with older Scott I supposed (as if that wasn't a painfully obvious made just to excuse Scott ability to time travel).
The Ramona taking Scott's hand and dashing through the snowfall towards door gives such delightful movie slow motion flashbacks! She is Soo pretty and their romance looks so wholesome! I'm very excited for it! ❤️ 2:25pm

"Apparently" If you haven't watched it, stop weighing in due to stupid politics. Don't compare this to He-Man and steer people away from a fantastic season just because you're upset about the main character getting sidelined. Sorry but the subversion is the entire point, and as somebody who didn't hear about the twist and went in blind, I was bored out of my mind for the first episode because it was just a paint by numbers retelling of the story. As soon as the narrative shifted I was hooked. Stop letting the internet poison your mind.
Now with the strike over I hope to see some behind the scenes stuff like maybe a glimpse into the voice booths so we can see the cast be all “we’re back baby”
Yeah as necessary as the strike was, I thought to myself it would have been nice to see the cast in promo videos be in awe of returning, reminisce, and so forth. It can still happen though, even after the show drops.
Man I wonder if everyone down here would have the same reaction if it was apparently "truthful advertising" despite the fact if it was truthful advertising they'd still be disappointed that the original didn't get an adaption despite being over a decade old now and it'd mean having to give up the surprise for any fans willing to stick around past episode 1 because they didn't feel betrayed yet but more so just surprised. And even then why would a creator that has the opportunity to have their work animated choose to make an adaption of their older work and not just use it as a method of telling a new story using the concept of it stemming from a work that has gone so deep into pop culture it can reference *itself* at this point. It sounds like a fun opportunity for a creative standpoint.
Also like. A lot of adaptions tend to be like. Mid-way of when the creator is telling a story, or they finished it a long time ago and someone else gone up to them to just have a try at adapting it for better or for worse. The ideal of a creator having full control over an adaption is great and all but I think a lot of you dont understand that also means they have control of changing it, and man CREATORS CAN BE FICKLE WITH THEMSELVES AND RUIN THEIR OWN STORIES. So like, this is the best possible outcome, a creator wanted to play with an old work while being faithful to it in a different way, and telling a new story out of an old one, that's cool and also. almost oddly scott pilgrim in itself isnt it lmao.
This is looking good so far! And as others have pointed out, a problem with the movie was that Ramona in the movie was colder than in the comics, so it's nice to see that she'll be a fun-loving and bubbly person like she was in the comics!

@@richardcheung3232 Okay first off, you miss the point of original graphic novel charm (and a movie to a degree). Scott Pilgrim was unique for its nonscense videogamey nature because it made it feel like an old videogame, because that is the point. You should ask yourself "do we need to explore side characters in a pretty small franchise as Scott Pilgrim?" where we still don't have actual full adaptation of comic. Seasonal series could actually pull it off but they blew to make this bait and switch alternate time line story that reeks of modern crappy writing which makes series dated instantly. You see when some girl shows up and she has Bionic Arm and Scott comments "Oh shit she has a bionic arm!" it's part of the fun that we don't know about her anything. Why Bowser want to marry Peach while being a giant turtle that spit falmes? We don't know and we don't need to. Original story was already a great deconstruction of Main Hero idea and videogamie nature played it to it's benifits because that was a plot twist later to show that Scott doesn't care much about anything other than himself and even his heroics is his delusions. This series ends up an unfaithful adaptation of a movie that based on a comic, that lures people by false advartisement and idea to tell completely different story taking love of its fans for granted. If only they would make first season into faitful adaptation and then further seasons would be these time alternations that would be far better.

To be honest the whole series is one big slice of life and few action scenes at intervals. Those action parts have never been even half as big as the comedy or romance in this story
Film or tv companies just like to market intensity and action in order to attract bigger audiences. So netflix gathered only the action bit scenes for past trailers. The comics are mainly one big slice of life fest.
@@windy6587apparently the anime is sadly all action mostly :-( I wish they kept the slice of life-ness intact but it seems like this will mostly be crazy action stuff which I can't say I'm happy about
@@wariowarecomixI'd rather have that than romance since it's just triggering in this day and age where finding someone worth dating is dead.
@@iHateGenZweebs when I'm in a low emotional maturity and my opponent is you:
My only fear for this series is if they forget a key part of the series - that Scott and Ramona both start out as terrible, terrible people who learn to be better. If Lisa doesn't show up, I'll be very disappointed. My fingers are crossed!
Well the comic creator is one of the writers for the series so I wouldn't worry too much
Lisa will show up. I'm pretty sure she's in one of the trailers.
@@leomoreno7369she's not
@@JaySteiny Well tbf he did say this series won't be a complete adaptation and will have it's own turn
Would you be disappointed if they yank Scott out of the story in episode one?
The story of how two absolute messes found what they needed in each other. It's cool that we see bit of Ramona's side of the romance.
The way Scott looks at Ramona is so so sweet. I can't wait!!
This should have been the title for the show. “Scott Pilgrim: WHAT IF?”
Now this is beautiful. Really beautiful. I wouldn't miss this for any other show in the world.
So it’s He-Man again? I was wondering what the angle was. Nope. None. Just that. Again. Why?
I swear I haven’t been this excited for a show in forever 💞😭😭
I already sense hundreds of fan artists preparing themselves for this tidal wave
Bro they could’ve done this in season 2. It was a decent show but everyone wanted to watch the same story animated.
Ignoring the art style and humor, the comic lacks world-building, and the evil exes have no motivation to team up. Scott's achievements rarely result from his efforts. As the series progressed, the author grew disenchanted with Scott and his relationship with Ramona. The comic, initially a wish-fulfillment for nerds, evolved into self-hatred, as seen in Scott's rant.
The new series aims to enhance lesser-explored characters and move away from the original's unfocused conflict. Season 1 fleshes out characters, shifting the focus from the "evil exes" plot. Scott will return But this time, he won't be an asshole. He'll be a likable loser who will work towards becoming a better person, a better fighter, a better friend, and a better boyfriend, along with Ramona Flowers. Season 1 deconstructs the original premise and offers fans more insights into other characters. Just as the author wanted to do, he's the one who made the changes after all
@@richardcheung3232 Did you even read the comics?… He has always been a likeable himbo, his mistakes were not out of malice, he's just really dumb.
I cannot wait for this, all the music in the trailers have been perfect, I hope its the same in the show
The Ramona taking Scott's hand and dashing through the snowfall towards door gives such delightful movie slow motion flashbacks!
She is Soo pretty and their romance looks so wholesome! I'm very excited for it! ❤️ 2:25pm
I like how they made Ramona less cold than her movie version. And how she actually reciprocates Scott's feelings for her.
everything about this is so promising. this show is made with so much love. can't wait
Masaaki yuasa’s style is always the best
This is great! the music , the animation , the artsyle
What is the music in this btw? I'm dying to know.
This is the only reason I’m paying for Netflix this month. I can’t wait!
This gives me a super warm feeling, like inside, it’s nice
Me and My GF ❤ (I’m glad that this last trailer shows the whole reason why Scott is fighting, Ramona is that reason. Not just cause he has to but he loves her so much, just as much as Ramona loves him.)
I guess Scott Pilgrim just goes to show not only fight for the one you love, but at the same time love can come in mysterious ways.
Don't they both date nonstop? More like they both just have low standards and can't hold a relationship lmao.
@@iHateGenZweebs Sounds like a match made in heaven
Very hyped for the adaptation! I'm so excited! I'm definitely going to watch it when it comes out! So glad everyone is excited as well!
I never seen such a great love story in my life!
0:32 this is image of Ramona with puppy is very cute
Ramona seems FAR MORE INTERESTING in this adaptation. I didn’t get why he was so head-over-heels for her in the movie, as Knives seemed far more fun and loving. However, this more playful side to Ramona in the Netflix version already makes this adaptation FAR MORE EXCITING!
Probably because this Ramona takes more elements from the book
SO HYPED FOR THIS ANIME TO COME OUT ON FRIDAY
Oh wow, the sincerity in this trailer so unexpected yet amazing!
This was just so cute and wholesome! 😊 I can’t wait for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off!
Scott Pilgrim isn't actually in it apparently. He got He-Manned.

also we will get season 2
"Apparently"
If you haven't watched it, stop weighing in due to stupid politics.
The animation looks so CRISP BRO
Scott and Ramona are such goals❤
I'm so happy this is getting made!
A surprisingly calm trailer.
This has bait and switch written all over it lol
The bait and switch kills it
I am serious so being excited for this. The Scott pilgrim series rams SO much to me
I’m so happy we get to see this show in this animation. It’s literally the comic brought to life
It's not. They chuck out the story, and Scott, in the first episode. The trailers are hiding what they actually did with it.
@@AlexReynardbut did you enjoy it?
What is the name of the song that plays over the trailer? I have become partially addicted.
this hits different when animated
I am in love with this adaptation.
The graphic novels were amazing
The Movie was stellar
Hope that the Anime is LEGENDARY and takes off in popularity
Because Scott Pilgrim is a snapshot in time and place. Most of the places in the series no longer exist.
I CANNOT WAIT! How fleshed out it's gonna be compared to the movie really serves justice for the comics! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! It's gonna be worth it!
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE DAY ONE 🔥🔥🔥
This is looking good so far!
And as others have pointed out, a problem with the movie was that Ramona in the movie was colder than in the comics, so it's nice to see that she'll be a fun-loving and bubbly person like she was in the comics!
Yeah it did great job at lying to audience and marketing it as Scott Pilgrim series.

@@richardcheung3232bro you have plastered this comment everywhere please stop trying to defend this junk!
Imagine these comments on a Zelda game lmao.
This looks beautiful omfg
I know nothing about Scott Pilgrim but this looks cute & I like the artstyle so I’m in
Welcome to the best decision you’ll make all year
