I kinda believe him but the issue is that.. he's on too many platforms and its starting to look like he's defending himself from something he didnt do .. in possibly the worst way. As a legal practitioner I'll tell you what every lawyer tells you .. Keep quiet , don't say a damn thing because if you're defending yourself this hard in the span of two weeks you've done five podcasts on an issue you already handed yourself in ? You are damaging the case. If she lied ? Then she lied. Lets hold her accountable but he needs to keep quiet. Spit succint facts don't spit all this chatter that will damage your character in the case.
Am glad you're the lawyer on this chat. Have you heard of any guilty female being charged of rape as it is so difficult to break. It'll only tarnished the name of the so called perpetrator.
To be honest you're right I haven't head of such. The issue here is that in South Africa .. Alot of women don't report rape because of the process that it takes. Theirs things like precious consistent statements that'll be taken into account. Witnesses have to be called , evidence has to be adduced from the victim .. text messages aren't enough to prove a rape. That's why most women or just most people don't report the rape. I think if she's lying then damn .. she needs to account for the lie. But if he really did do it ? Then he needs to pay for that too but he won't go down easily cause it's a damaging accusations. It'll ruin his life before he even gets to court. So yeah the perp ends up being damaged reputation wise. But I still remain in my saying that he should've remained quiet. Put out a little statement nyana and then backed away and let the courts do what they have to do. What he's doing is putting out defamatory statements. Meaning even if he's innocent. She can still charge him on the things he said about her character. In court we deal with the character of an individual not who they are to other people (famous etc) but who they are as a person in society (good or bad). So eish it's tough Jo. No matter what lawyer you might have .. it all boils down to character and evidence. If theirs no rape kit .. it's even worse !! That's why most women don't report this thing. I am a chiller and huge fan of Nota's wisdom and way of thinking, as a chiller i was dissappointed with the way MacG and Sol covered the Nota Rape allegations, it seemed they had already concluded that Nota was guilty of what the lady was accusing him of. the whole time i was watching them talk about the matter i felt that they were not looking at things from both sides which is Nota's side and the Victim's side.However i also understood that they had to believe the Victim as we all know they would've been called out as being Biased since they(podcast and chill) are friends with Nota. We cannot ignore the sensitivity around such accusations when it comes to choosing a side in public eye, we are told to belive the victim until proven otherwise as one can be easily be taken as supporter of sex offenders. If we all go and watch the episode(episode 602) Sol and Mac's took a side immediately when it was mentioned by Fact checker that the lady had mentioned that she said no which now had become clear that the victim had a case and unfortuantely the merits of her case can only be tried in court and not by Podcast and chill. Nota shouldn't be angry at Sol and MacG for this but i also understand his point of view.
