This will also work with the settings using a VGA to HDMI cable. The only issue is sound in which case using headphones or a headset will work.

That probably means the port to your monitor is damaged or the VGA cable connected to your monitor isn't working

i had the same issue, i think the problem is i both a low quality hdmi to vga converter.. it only inputs 57hz refrash rate when i checked on my laptop
For those who are having a hard time . this is the full tutorial ! :
1. Put tha VGA cable to the connector(VGA to HDMI) .
2.put the HDMI at the back of your ps4
3. You should have micro USB for your monitor and ps4 to work . you can use any charger .
4. Turn your on until you hear two beeps . it will turn your ps4 into safe mode.
5. You should have your ps4 charger to be plugged in
6. You will choose the right resolution for your ps4

Guys help, i have all the adapter, but its does not work when i connect with PS4 or PC, it only work when i set the resolution to 360p, anything higher than that my TV won't display it

I did this whole process and when I hook up my PS4 to the monitor it says “Input Not Supported” and the the resolution is at 420p and HDCP is checked off

Btw you don't need the vga cable with the USB part, What you'll need to do is look at the back of your monitor there are two ports, D-Sub(which is the normal one that you may be using, and the one that you need to use is DVI-D , you can purchase the cord which is like $8 CAD at Walmart. So instead of plugging your vga cord into the converter , this cord all you have to do is connect it to the monitor and plug and your HDMI into it. Change the settings in safe mode and viola! Although you will have to use external headphones for the sound. pCE!
