very clear explanations, thanks... I am going to mount a Road Warrior fairing on my 114 Low Rider S to have better wind protection for long rides as it is not a too expensive modification, will see if it is convenient for me, and If I want more I will go to the next step...
I finally ended up pulling the trigger and buying a low rider st the other day. I don't do big touring trips almost ever but it's nice that I have something that'll give me that option now, my last bike was a Triumph Speedmaster. I don't own a car so my bike is my mode of transportation for commuting and everything else I do, so it seems the ST fairing is definitely better for me. I can still feel more of a breeze as I ride. Houston TX gets hot as hell lol
Right on, I also do not own a car these days - As for that purpose, I think you 100% made the right call - If I had to have only one bike, it would probably be the ST in terms of a bike that does everything.
I had a rt fairing on a 93 fxr. It was to much air deflection for me lol. It worked great… but I like a little more wind in my grill. Road warrior fairing with taller windshield has been a happy medium. Your video/ review is right on. Keep it going 👍🏻
Ill be honest i have a softspot for the FXRP fairing, before i owned my FXRP, id never owned a bike with a fairing, I had ridden bikes with windshields and the occasional Batwing test ride on buddy's bikes but I didn't have a full blown fairing to get to know until well into my 40's. The Buell Lightning didn't count because they not even... But having a fairing changed my riding experience and it made being an all season rider that much easier...and I've got strong peer pressure from my buddy Mike Cooke (FXDP owner) who I've seen ride in Guzzi in snowstorms... And it was the FXRP fairing that changed my attitude about fairings and windshields and that will always mean something to me. It will always look contemporary to me.
Yeah out of all of them the FXRT and the ST fairings are the two that just felt the most right to me - However, the Road Warrior definitely saw me through some long miles
I feel like I can’t unsee the ST fairing on anything else but a Low Rider ST - However, definitely open to seeing how it runs on a Dyna - Out of both fairings, I definitely prefer the ST fairing as much as I love both of them
Aight just got home after my second Friday Night Magic with the boys went there to play after work...now in 1h going back to work at my 2nd job having dinner while watching this
Man I have a road warrior and went from FL to the tail of the dragon NC and the wind buffeting was killing me. But I'm nervous to get an FXRT fairing because I don't want to be hot in the summer 😂. I might have to try out the new saddlemen mini fxr fairing
Man i am loving that fairing , waiting for a certain company to release it, got some inside info if they do jumping on it, all i need to finish my Dyna i am rocking the T-sport fairing at the moment. Thanks for the great content in your videos cheers from Long Island NY.
@@GatorFoot i got a tip from a litte bird that said Advanblack might be releasing a FXRT retro fairing , i like there stuff and prices ,solid company. not sure when i but i think soon. i saw the saddleman one its too small looks wierd.
@@roaddawg538 You rock. I’ve been eyeing the RWD FXR fairing for my FXDF, but they’re so damn expensive. The Saddlemen mini fairing caught my eye, but I’m not sure how I feel about it. Ya.. I live in so cal.. and when we have "extreme" heat.. you do not really want It blowing on you. It's so hot it's like riding into a blow dryer or heat gun. It will feel like its burning your bare skin. Like Santa Ana winds on roids... it becomes a real debacle.. you think you want some air flow.. then you get it.. and it sucks!.. all you can do is think thank God I'm not in Arizona right now...and why don't weather men have to be good at their jobs.
@FXLRS916 Ya must not be the same cause it literally burns. I was raised a strones throw away from the border literally!. Like high desert.. Grew up on 2 wheels.. When it's extremely hot.. it's that kinda hot... not some coastal breeze.. like you cover up... Long sleeve... pants... face covered. Cause it's gonna physical hurt on bare skin the faster your go. In all fairness that is my idea of extreme heat. And it may happen at 90 somedays. Rather than tripple digits. Its probably more air moister content.. but thats what I think of when I heat extreme heat. Not just 100° in jully
Maybe I'm trippen. . I feel like its like pointing a heat gun at something.. your just making it hoter. It may have the illusion of cooling you. Or maybe you get mexican air conditioning if your sweaty enough. But I can't even breath with it in my face at 70 like that. For me it's no on needing wind in my face or on my torso in that kinda heat. I try not to ride in 90+ at all.. but shit happens
Dude that's crazy! I've definitely ridden in 100+ degree temps many times, but never experienced heat while moving to the point where I didn't want airflow
@@dormantmenace ive ridden in all conditions in cali weather and any time it get over 100 i always wet my shirt and arm sleeve and my head and i have water bottle close by if i need recharge i dont need to do this but if im going on long ride it’ll definitely make it more comfortable. With out the wind the cooling effect is not effective. To each their own… the wind and ur sweat is what cools u down, sounds nasty but it is what it is. Best example is ride a bagger in 110 heat and youll wish theres more air flow. Riding in the heat isnt comfortable either way but the air flow is better then not.
I recently picked up an 03 Dyna, Defender with the "old man " police windshield. Changed that out for a Retro RT Fairing. Vast improvement.
Sick! It still has the white paint and everything?
@FXDLSBrooklyn It was black from the factory and still has the original paint. Front has been replaced though.

@@FXDLSBrooklyn I'm shocked that you don't own a car up in the NYC. I would guess that you use public transportation when it rains and stuff.

I like the ST, but don't like the clam shell bags. I'd buy an S and put the retro fairing on it though. I see no issues with that.
You can’t. Some of the parts for the ST fairing are VIN locked.
Yeah I do see a lot of people doing that - That ST fairing just fits that bike like a glove, although the retro RT will definitely get the job done ⚡️
