Octopah Traveler is a big NoNo for Beginners. If you level up the wrong skills and enemies are only affected by certain skills you dont have like Polearms you are screwed and thats really frustrating.
@@gbaddictus4827 I dont think its hard. Just Not as straight Forward in the Design as the others which might lead to Frustration If you are Not experienced with JRPGs
I agree, and especially some of the last bosses can kill you with minimum mistakes, although I won´t lie I´m basing this more on Octopath Traveler 2 has I had so many good equipment but many bosses in their last stage take like 4 turns in a row and can kill your party so cheaply
I think the difficulty spike reaching chapter 2 in Octopath Traveler turn many beginners of at least from my experience when having conversations with friends.
This list is pretty legit. If you don't like Chrono Trigger or FF9 or Persona 5, you prolly not diggin the genre. I'd add Lufia 2 to the list as well. Cool dungeons with puzzles, battle monster system, but nothing too advanced. Oh and Mario Rpg, I mean who doesn't like Mario.
Great video even for me as someone with a decent amount of jrpg experience!! You explained the ones I haven't played well enough that it made me interested in adding them to the backlog
You forgot 7 and 8 on the list. I liked 9 but 8 is my second favorite while 6 is my favorite of the series. And breath of fire 1 & 2 are great too. And I have a place in my heart for Final Fantasy Tactics, Ogre Tactics, Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen & 7th Saga.
The first 3 Mario and Luigi games, as well as the first 2 Paper Mario games, are also great beginner RPGs. The gimmick of timing your button presses to deal more damage and take less damage makes it a lot more engaging to me than most turn-based RPGs. Also this is probably just me, but I found the first Xenoblade game very easy to get in to. The second one is my favourite game in the series, and one of my favourite games of all time, but it's a lot harder to get to grasp with (no thanks to the poor tutorials that explain some mechanics badly or not at all, and the fact you can't reread them).
Octopath si absolutely not beginner friendly, it is prohibitively difficult and can turn someone off of the genre with how hard that difficulty spike hits.
@CMbReCk Why not? We were all beginners when we first began playing them. Besides those old NES games made for kids are way harder than anything made today.

Fair points, in my experience though I found it on the easy side.

Nino Kuni was difficult even for experienced RPG folks, just from that intro portion alone.

Glad to hear it!

Octopath for beginners? really?
Same with FFVI. That game can be played by beginners, but it's definitely not easy or simple.
Your normal voice is MUCH better than the robotic voice. Nice video!
Thanks for the feedback! It'll improve after a few more videos *hopefully😁

WHY is Destiny Connect Tick Tock Travelers NEVER mentioned in these types of videos. It's basically baby's first JRPG.
trials of mana was horrible and lifeless 3d remake of a classic game that really depressed me to play
All games are beginner friendly.
Like dark souls or Bloodborne 😂

Turn based, ugh! 3rd person combat please.
Added to the pipeline 😁

Oh man, I haven't played that game yet. I'm so left behind 🤦
I'll make some time later this month and finish it.
What a game, beautiful and a bice story.
