Remarkable reimagining of "Enter Sandman" backed by a 10 piece all-female string section; 6 violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos from Monterrey, Mexico, playing in The Warning's style. Dani slays on vocals; Pau and Ale sing spectacularly. All 3 sisters are classically trained; Ale's a top-tier Jazz Bassist playing Rock. Ale's insanely resonant 5-string Spector Bass joins the string section to generate Cinematic Orchestral Music. Cinematic Orchestral Music, a 'hybrid', involves electronic instruments (synthesizers) and classical instruments (strings), to create the genre's sound. Ale's heavy Bass takes the synthesizers role; fills the bottom, propelling a huge Wall of Sound. Ale seamlessly switches to Melody-line, joins strings, augments the crescendo, then switches back to Bass-line, as if it's nothing. The string section achieves remarkable unity with DPA (at times the combination generates sounds one normally associates with brass). The Warning sisters are rightfully very proud of their home country and home city and include musicians from their home whenever possible. It's no accident DPA chose an all female string section. The Warning have repeatedly spoken in interviews about how as girls, and then women, they're often not take seriously until they play, and how once they play all that changes. The Warning sisters come across as wonderful people and never beat anyone over the head with their views, they're all about the music, but make no mistake; they've made a statement here about Women in music; whether it be Rock, Classical, Jazz, or Cinematic Orchestral Music by creating this spectacular piece using only female musicians and vocalists.

This performance of “Enter Sandman” by The Warning was special with the addition of a string ensemble, which is not how it’s usually performed live. The opportunity to cover the iconic track came about when their international manager, Chris Smith, informed them during a Zoom call that Metallica had invited them to contribute to “The Metallica Blacklist,” an album celebrating the 30th anniversary of “The Black Album” in 2021. Chris, who also manages Alessia Cara, revealed that the band would collaborate with the Canadian pop singer on the song. He added that they had just one week to write, record, and finalize the track. Metallica encouraged all participants to take creative liberties with their covers, with Lars Ulrich saying, “Pick a song. Do what you want with it. If you want to play it backwards or turn it on its head, we respect and appreciate it.”
The collaboration between The Warning and Alessia came together under this tight deadline. Producer Matt Squire flew to Monterrey to work with the band directly, while Alessia recorded her parts remotely from Canada due to COVID restrictions. The Warning approached the project with the goal of making the song uniquely theirs. They removed the original riff, incorporated a “creepy lullaby” vibe, and emphasized the haunting “Hush Little Baby” section, with Alessia’s harmonies adding an ethereal layer to the arrangement.
The official music video features Alessia as a projection since she couldn’t travel to Mexico. Although Alessia doesn’t usually perform the song live with The Warning, her “whoa, whoa” vocals are included on the backing track during their performances. The exception was a special one-time performance at the Troubadour in Los Angeles, where Alessia joined the band on stage. Another notable performance was at Teatro Metropolitan in 2022, where the song was played without the string ensemble.
The Warning’s history with “Enter Sandman” dates back to 2014, when Dany was 14, Pau was 12, and Ale was just 9. They recorded a straightforward cover of the song and uploaded it to RUclips because the file was too large to email to their family. That video went viral and now has over 26 million views. Metallica’s guitarist Kirk Hammett even tweeted, “the drummer kicks maximum ass!”

Someone's stuck on The Warning. Doing that Metallica song that made Metallica radio friendly. The Warning put a good spin on the song. The Warning Live at Teatro Metropolitan and Pepsi Center concerts were both good to watch. When we haven't had many good rock bands in North America in decades it's good that one comes around.

@@mikesmusicalrehab The drummer is also a fantastic lead singer. Check out Black Holes and Breathe together from Pepsi center or The Revenant from Teatro Metropolitan. They are slower songs but demonstrate versatility of this band. If you wat singing while drumming Narcissista is a good option or the combo of Dust-to-Dust/Dull Knives from Pepsi center where Pau sings lead on one and Dany the other. Disciple is a great one for seeing them switch off and opens The Pepsi center concert with a bang. Enjoying your reactions!

23 is IMO an even better vehicle for demonstrating Pau's vocal abilities, but I would pick the Teatro Metropolitan version because Pau was quite ill and had to omit the final high note.

this was done for Metallica's 30 anversary Blacklist album. the instruction were to make it your own no straight up covers. but you must keep the lyrics all original. they did this in about 10 days with Alessia Cara. they took the song pulled it apart and rebuilt it upside down inside and backwards and made a new masterpiece.

It was actually a straight cover of Enter Sandman like 12 years ago that started them on your journey. It went viral and started them thinking they wanted to make music as a career. You've got to check that one out!

You wanna do something great for your channel? Start reacting to more of the 23 songs they performed at this concert. As a 30 year top-tier live audio engineer I haven't seen a rock concert as good as this one in decades. It's amazing, they simply do not write bad songs. I don't say this lightly, considering how many shows I have seen and worked in my professional career. If you begin to react to videos from this show I am sure the Warning Army will be here to support your reactions. I also know you will be very entertained by these ladies. They ARE rockstars and the future of Rock overall as a genre.

Originally performed and created with Alessia Cara for the Metallica Blacklist album, The Warning have continued to 'Evolve' this version with every show, culminating in this incredible rendition that to date, is the best yet. This was composed in 10 days in order to meet the deadline for the Blacklist album during the pandemic, The Warning in Mexico and Alessia in Canada. Metallica asked for the artists doing the covers to chose a song, turn it upside down or inside out, do whatever you want to it just don't change the lyrics. The Warning and Alessia were the only ones to really follow those instructions fully.

Matt Bellamy of Muse also gifted Daniela a custom mustard yellow Oryx 6 Mason guitar in 2023 when TW opened 5 shows for Muse in Europe. TW had done 4 shows in Mexico in 2022 with Muse when Matt asked them if they would like join Muse on their European tour the following year. Which they accepted. Muse is D,P,A's (Daniela, Paulina, Alejandra) consensus favorite band.

Great song. The Explorer that was gifted to Dany was NOT one of Lzzy Hale’s Signature guitars. Lzzy , with the help of Gibson , found this white Explorer and modified it to Dany’s specifications. Lzzy is quoted as saying she did not want to give Dany a guitar that had HER signature on it. She wanted it to be Dany’s guitar. There are many interviews of Lzzy gushing over how great The Warning are. The video of Lzzy actually handing it to her during their set is out there. Dany’s face is priceless.

The studio recording of this includes Canadian pop star Alessia Cara and is the first song on Metallica's Blacklist album. Check out 'EVOLVE', Live at 2023 MTV VMAs. For the most part, MTV had no clue who they brought into the venue and 95% of the people there had never heard of The Warning. Our girls went in and blew the roof off the place. As soon as they got off the stage, the stage manager came up to Dany and said, "I'm a fan now. I'm a fan! HOLY SHIT!" (he was still on an open mic) LOL! ruclips.net/video/97Pxe9KTgJc/видео.html

They have experimented with this song, so you have to listen to more versions :) IMHO - it is actually a must! You can do it yourself, or reactions.
    * The 11 years old straight version when they were kids.
    * The Music Video version that was the "original" to this version, with Alessia Cara. This one gives chills.
    * The Metropolitan CDMX live version.
    * This version.

I have to admit, I am not a Metallica fan, and I was sick of this song, until this version came along. A lullaby where Dany very sweetly puts you to bed, then rouses the troops, shares a little prayer, the angel chorus comes to sing you to sleep, then Boom, the hammer drops. I think of this very much as the female version of the Sandman tale told as a haunting, dark lullaby. So good. Delicate, powerful, soothing, strong, gentle, fierce-all at the same time. I love this one.

The Warning Enter Sandman- There are 4 version…. and you just saw the 4th version.
In 2014 these 3 little girls from Mexico made a video to send to their grandparents to show them how they have progress in their music skills. The video was too big to just email so their dad posted it on RUclips and sent the grandparents the link. It went viral and was seen by Metallica (they gave a shout-out saying “That drummer kicks maximum ass!”). It was also seen my Ellen DeGeneres (prompting her to get them on her show in 2015). It has since garnered well over 25 million views. This is the 2014 version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/1boUYB9LFJY/видео.html
In 2021 Metallica asked 53 artists to take any of the 12 iconic songs from their Black album and do a cover (any way they wanted to) for their Black List album, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Black album. Alessia Cara (Canadian pop star) was asked to participate but had no idea what to do. Because she shares the same management group as The Warning, she contacted them for help. It was difficult to do as Alessia was in Canada and The Warning were in Mexico and travel with COVID was not happening. They made it work and developed/recorded this completely re-imagined song in one week. They created the music video with the same logistical restrictions. Because of that you will see that Alessia appears as a projection on the wall in the video as she was not there. It was recorded in an abandoned textile mill outside of Monterrey, Mexico. Here is the official music video: ruclips.net/video/9tKQgesCcTc/видео.html
When The Warning sings this in live concerts this is the version they do with Alessia Cara’s background vocals: ruclips.net/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/видео.html
For The Warning’s 10th anniversary concert they created this extra special version of Enter Sandman: ruclips.net/video/-stoqv5W8RM/видео.html
