My favorite version, despite all the background interference...I have NEVER, EVER seen a musician do this, and I don't know whether the audience even realizes what's involved: first, she plays all the instruments herself (except the percussion and bass), but that's not the amazing part. What's amazing is that she's RECORDING those snippets of background instruments, and then perfectly blending them at just the right time to back her vocals. This is what artists in studios take days or even weeks to do: they record one track at a time (guitar, keyboard, etc.) then come back and do the vocals, percussion, etc. After that, the various tracks are professionally mixed, "sweetened" to make them sound better, and edited to make A Song. Wells is doing this weeks-long process INSTANTLY, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE AUDIENCE. She's taking four or five separate tracks, recording them, and then seamlessly blending them. It's astonishing. This woman is a genius; she is the future, and for once I wanna be in it...
Nikita Kade I recomend you look Matt Elliott "The kübler-ross model" live. It may not be your type of music, and although not as complex as this one, it's interesting nonetheless.
My eyes are tearing up watcher her sway to the beat. It's so hard to imagine that there are still people in the world that live the music like Emily Wells. She puts her heart and soul into it, and that's what makes it so beautiful. I wish the whole world would take a minute to listen to this.
