Since it was Kyle with multiple YT channels, ChargePoint immediately patched the Etron bug in their DC fast charger. Does anyone think the vendor would have fixed it so promptly for everyday EV drivers like us without celebrity status?
Considering the issue has been around for awhile, of course not. Coworker had a 2019 ETron and it had the same issue over a year ago and they won't even try to use ChargePoint chargers anymore.
The big problem in my mind with car as backup is that requires you don’t need to use the car. The system needs to work with a standalone battery as well.
I’m surprised no-one else has commented on this but Tom being able to disengage the Lectron adapter without unlocking the latch was a huge WTF moment for me - this was the exact same unit he had reviewed and tested and given an OK review!
So if you watched my follow-up video, I had to use all my strength to pull it apart. However, I've done a LOT of demonstrations on this since then and I've basically rounded off the internal plastic piece that holds the pin and weakened the spring. I wouldn't have done it live like that if I was hiding something. 😃 That said, I was surprised it's degraded that much where it now pulls apart easily.
I can read articles for myself. Everyone engaging each other In conversation is most interesting.
@4:52 Kyle we'd call it in IT CICD (ContinuousIntegration & Continuous Delivery) to let you do the virtual regression testing for bugs like this. It's a good call out
Why is the RWD Model Y the main part of the title when all you did was read parts of an article for a minute..
Re: people who bought FSD well in advance of it doing anything...
I bought FSD (in part) for better parking visualizations. Which, 3 years later are finally rolling out.
To AMD-MCU vehicles only, and will never get to my MCU2 vehicle.
Ive been using mine
@@michaelsmithers4900 As far as using FSD, it turns out I like driving when I’m in the driving seat and paying attention to the road, so I don’t use FSD at all. And … the better parking visualizations that I’m talking about isn’t available on the MCU2 cars… if you’re using that, you must have a MCU3 vehicle.
I have had my reversation approval since April 5th, 2024. I will wait until they drop $20,000 to $30,000 dollars. $69,000.00 for the dual motor, and that is when I will buy. The Chevy Silverado EV also looks good.
1:18:20 If you bought the 260 mile range Model Y you can charge the battery to 100% every time because you have a huge buffer! That is more car for less money. You got a steal of a deal! Elon is just giving away free batteries! Awesome!
13:36 Haha … 40 seconds switchover is completely unacceptable, even for a GEN 1 version of the V2H. Most currently offered whole home battery backup systems are capable of switching from grid to backup in 10-40 milliseconds or so. You don’t even notice lights blink, your clocks don’t reset, etc.
Yes the lightning frunk is bigger but the CT has a bigger bed.
The savings is toggled "on" the Model Y and "cash price" because it includes the $7500 tax credit that all Model Ys qualify for
That is what the STANDARD is supposed to do. If the auto makers follow the approved rules, it should work. My Tesla has always charged on CCS1 charges with the CCS1 to Tesla adapter. This should not be that hard.
If you let motor trend touch your vehicle I would just be surprised it still moves
No, the Crazy postman sold his Tesla DMM3, then bought a Mustang Mach E, sold it and bought a Ionic 5 is what he drives now. I think 🤔
OK thanks for clearing that up
@StateOfChargeWithTomMoloughney Tom, you're doing a great job. I just think we as Americans and our alliance should support countries that align with the USA. Countries like China are NOT Americans friends, and we should not support China products. Including vehicles. China has enough people to buy and support Chinese products.
Simple solution for people that “feel angry” for not getting their “promised” features. WAIT until you KNOW the product has said features before buying!
GM should figure out how to do lane centering in Blazer and Prologue before they try to tackle V2G
Kyle, you and your group could tear up anything. Your maintenance skills are less than stellar 😅. We have watched your videos.😊
🥴🥴🥴😂😂😂
Thanks Guy's for another Phenomenal Show.
I’m confused. Most intermittency on the grid is seconds or minutes; 45 seconds to connect and the grid disconnected is useful maybe once every 5 years. If you cannot use your truck battery to power your house in the evening and recharge after 10 PM, then why would you pay 12 or 25 K for this installation?
Where do you live? It is fairly rare - unless it isn't. I have medical equipment and in 2021, we had repeated blackouts of 8-10 hours. Most planned, some not. Had to run a gas generator. I now have solar - but without a battery, it still doesn't help alone. And lo, a couple months ago, a nearly whole day blackout and then a smaller one. Anyway. It's rare, but it happens. And if you live in hurricane or storm territory, perhaps more than most.
Anyway, I've been very very very interested in bidirectional charging and I'm waiting to hear more. So, I'm glad to see some stuff actually start to come out.. But yes, you're right. Only useful in a power outage is completely missing the promise of bidirectional charging. It really needs to be an almost seamless daily home battery. Hopefully, stuff from like enphase is more versatile.
The cost is only high if you only want to use it for back up power. But if you plan to install Solar with battery System you would need A inverter anyway and you can use a much smaller stationary battery or completely leave out because your car have a huge battery. In that case you only pay a few thousand dollars more then you would just for the solar and battery installation
BIP Friday ftw!
@Kyle Conner Could you pls also test the XPeng G6 🙏? More like a Model Y competitor and verry appealing ....
I find it hilarious that people are reporting Musk's un-clarifying clarifications on the SuperCharger network without noting how clearly disconnected from reality he is (sure you are going to accomplish all those SuperCharger goals without an organization to do so - rebuilding that lost expertise is going to result a major hit to schedules)
re: "I find it hilarious that people are reporting Musk's un-clarifying clarifications on the SuperCharger network without noting how clearly disconnected from reality he is..." exactly, and the sobering reason for that is because (mimicking the psychopathology of Elon) what we have going now in society are a great many people who are EQUALLY DISCONNECTED FROM REALITY (aw crap). sadly this "group dysfunction" does not stop with Elon, no, as we've been witnessing it is just the "tip" of the proverbial "iceberg".
54:15. Cybertruck is actually LONGER and WIDER than the Hummer EV Pickup, with a worse turning circle.
I don't think it's wider, but it is a little longer.
Hummer EV is 86 5 inches with mirrors folded in. Cybertruck is 86.64, so technically wider
I’m seeing - with the mirrors & as driven, Cybertruck is 95” wide and Hummer EV Pickup is 93.7” wide.

any insight into apple buying rivian?
You need at least 12kw for A/c
Tesla doesn’t want to push the limits because they don’t want warranty claims on the battery.
20:19 The only bad thing about Tesla is being seen in one
People sure compliment mine!
@@shou635 To each one's own
Maybe TOYOTA designed the wheels and lug nuts for Tesla 😅😊😮
Not me, I want a single vehicle that covers all my use requirements.
Trevor Milton was not just being optimistic, he straight up lied about many things that were patently false. 100% verifiably false
The amount of untrue statements he made is mind boggling. Most of his false statements weren't future looking, they were spoken in the present tense and not true.
That being said, I agree that Elon's statements could have definitely missled some people into making purchases they otherwise wouldn't have. Which is a problem.
I heard that Nikola has the largest hydrogen production facility in the US and they can make hydrogen for $3 / kg. Is that not true? 😂
No outlet in the Furnk of the Tesla is because they new it was too small/useful!
Love the sign Dom. Time to open a merch store😊
It's coming!
Tom, I have a possible solution for your multiple EV reservation problem. How about putting in a reservation for a 2nd wife? Would that solve your problem? 🤣🤣
I would argue that it’s not similar at all to what Milton did, FSD has been in my car the whole time I owned it and I’ve used it every day that I’ve driven.
It’s been capable of driving coast to coast for a long time.
Martyn is a nasty little troll, obvious from every broadcast. Tesla is solving the hardest AI problem on earth, and he would love to put Elon in jail for the rest of his life ... for what?? His personal hatred overshadows the possibility of saving tens of thousands of lives a year, what an evil person. At least Dan O is trying to kill Tesla for greed, I don't know what this idiot gets out of it.
Yep. Anyone complaining about FSD needs to show the competitor they could have bought for less money that works better. You paid for State Of the Art Tech. Promised to get better in the future. It has been re-written multiple times! Apple gave up! GM gave up! Google seems to have given up!
44:10 I wouldn't design the CT to look like it does to conform to some norm, I wouldn't do it cause I think it looks friggen terrible. It looks like a terrible dystopian future where humanity has failed and we all live underground or some crap, I don't want to see that every day in my garage.
what car kyle use for groceries? 😁
I'm not the biggest fan of Jordan's videos, however he seems to be doing the best he can
Who will install these first generation vehicle to Home Systems? People who have a cabin in the woods or a beach house or other property that has no grid connection and it's not used for permanent living.
LFP Model 3 is the best!
Jordan Giesage (sp) makes amazing content… but he doesn’t play the algorithm game.
Is anyone else getting tired of Kyle criticizing Jordan publicly and not even once praising any of the work he does? Kyle does a lot right, but demonstrating very poor leadership here.
I noticed that Kyle was cowardly quiet during the Tesla news segment. SMH.
Dude, relax.
He's tired of getting caught up in all that BS.
kyle is a tesla shill. it's pretty obvioius.
@@kleefton a shill?? Just because he doesn't spend every second bashing elon? Stop.
I couldn’t help but notice this listening to the audio version, I’m like “did he just drop off without saying anything?”
BYD vehicles are so cheap the rear axles break off and are the size of your thumb. The metal is so thin you can bend with your hand and the plastics are even worse. Do not buy a BYD as your dreams, will be NIGHTMARES.😢
How much time have you spent with one?
@@gregkramer5588 just 5 days with a friend that has one for a 18 months. Do you own one? How was your experience?
@@davidws5439 No, that is why I asked
@@davidws5439 I am sorry his axles broke off, I wonder what caused it? Seems weird for one of the largest selling cars in the world.
@gregkramer5588 no need for you to be sorry. Search the webs for BYD vehicle quality, and you will find lots of people with major problems with BYD.
It's coming to a head now as there are too many out, and the ccp cannot stop all the postings
I stopped watching real time. I skip over parts of the video these days.
Me too. Mostly whenever Martin goes on his weekly anti-tesla rant
