thank you so much for your videos and for including the raw files in that last video that I had commented on. I am mainly a musician before I am a photographer and I gotta say your taste in music is spectacular as well. Keep up the great work.
Hey brother, you're welcome and thank you so much for the support. I hope the music helps as I figure no one would want to listen to a guy talk to himself for an hour without something playing in the background lol
Thank you! How does using the R2Pro stack up when using the Flash WB setting in camera? Do the colors come out looking correct or do you still have to adjust things in post?
I love your methodical approach to editing real estate pictures! You mentioned that you aren't selling or promoting anything, but I would certainly purchase a set of PS actions that you use to create the fast HDR blend and your darken etc. I already own and use Lumenzia. LMK if you would sell a complete set of yours
Hey my friend, I think I can do that for you. Maybe instead of becoming a YT salesman maybe I'll just make 1 video showing what you can buy and just leave it at that. I don't think I want to be like everyone else who mentions their products in every video. I'll try and get started on that tomorrow so hopefully I can get it to you sooner than later.
Quick update. I can't release the actions I currently have as they incorporate Lumenzia intellectual property. I am however in the process of creating a new action that doesn't utilize Lumenzia's information. I hope to have that out soon and will probably be giving it out for free.
Great look into a shoot/edit. Do you typically tripod/flash your detail shots or just run and gun with the ambient? Looks like your shooting one flash pop on those but I could be wrong.
Typically for detail shots I just run and gun with ambient and no flash. I could mess around with flash for details; but I find that a shallow depth of field is often pleasing enough to get the job done and make it look nice.
Brandon, thank you for the tutorial. I have a few questions. What is the purpose of the left and right flash pop bounces? Since I work in Affinity Photo, I am not sure I can do the HDR portion. Any suggestions? Thank you and I am enjoying your channel.
Thank you! If you only do one flash pop, the image comes out looking flat, and lit from the wrong direction. Most people bounce a single flash above the camera, but the true light direction usually comes from the windows that are in front of the camera, not above and behind it. Adding the extra 2 pops smooths everything out and brings back dimension to the image, like shadows and contrast. Which in turn, makes the image look nicer and more appealing
Thank you so much bro. This video is 🔥🔥 great information. I'm looking to get into RE Photography and was so confused about flambiant but now I feel confident. Thanks. Do you feel RE Photography is still a good path to pursue for a decent living?
You're quite welcome my friend! I'm glad you're getting some use out of my content. As for your question, I would like to say yes REP is a great career. Though there are too many factors that come into play that make it hard to just say yes and be done with it. The biggest of which is your location. I live in Texas where houses are being sold all the time. Elsewhere though, I hear it's slowing down in the market due to inflation and such. REP is great, but if your town is small then it will be tough to break into unless you show up with amazing quality. That's what I'm trying to get everyone to is to great quality.
Hi, Lumenzia seems to be a good tool to purchase. Before I will do it, is there any way how can we achieve HDR image in photoshop using layers... not lightroom. There must be a way because the Lumenzia addon is jut a "box of actions". Do you know how to achieve it? Thank you for a great tutorial.
Hey my friend, it can absolutely be done through Photoshop as Lumenzia is primarily a luminosity blending plug-in. I failed to say it in this video but I've said it in the past, you don't need Lumenzia or any other plug-in to do any of the process I show here. Just like anything it will take a few steps, though once you know how to do it, you can record it as an action. I can show you in the next video how to create an hdr layer using luminosity masks. It's similar to Lumenzia and Photoshop's HDR merge. Biggest reason I use Lumenzia is due to how quick it is in my workflow process, but it's 100% not needed.
@@BrandonWattsREP thanks for your replay, it would be great to see that. As you said, you need to learn the basics, then we can skip some steps using plugins. I realy appreciate your effort. Best regards, Jan from the Czech Republic.
Nope. First thing I do after turning on all the lights and opening the blinds is notice if all the walls are painted the same color or not. If they are all the same color then I just adjust my WB once at the start of the shoot. Most times I never touch my WB after adjusting it at the beginning. For the ones with different colored walls, I still use the same WB as I did with the rest of the house, or I adjust it for that room only if the WB is too crazy off.
Thanks so much, your videos are helping me a lot! That music tho.. bro hahaha.

I owe you so much for this workflow. ..
I just want everyone to be successful!
Let me know if you have any questions or would like to see a topic discussed in future videos.
love the music. Bought the R2Pro trigger from Canon for my Sony for that very reason.
Thank you!

@@BrandonWattsREP works fine with auto white balance. I make sure to use standard and calibrate a tiny bit in Lightroom
how did you do your custom white balance, in camera? I use Fuji and its always changing with AWB-L

@@BrandonWattsREP That makes sense. I watched your past video on how to set up the actions and it looks easy enough to do so I’ll give it a try.

@@BrandonWattsREP Same. At that point those shots are a nice extra and I’ve already had enough lighting for one house.
@@kophoto exactly! I don't think the time spent on flashing detail shots is worth it.
The pen tool mask on the left window on the first image needed some fixing up but other than that it was perfect.
