U2 in America
The little things that give you away is the best song they’ve done this millennium, possibly one of their better songs ever
the fact that they are still together making albums my god the utmost respect to these guys and any haters should go to a u2 concert still the best live act after 40 years
I could watch u2 interviews all day long
When I first heard their new album I thought... "Man, they've finally done it... they've finally produced a CRAP album!!!" I couldn't have been more off base. This might be their best album ever! Takes some gettin' used to... but once it clicks... it's simply beautiful music. Enjoy.
I'm getting to enjoy this album even more as well. There's elements of their early albums as well. I am pleased that they have shown their support to the lgbt community in Love Is bigger than anything in its way, and from the comments on the music video there's mostly appreciation if you ignore the bigots.
It was just a few months ago that I fell in love with No Line On The Horizon 15 years it was released. It's now my second favourite album of theirs after Achtung Baby
I've been a fan of the band from Under A Blood Red Sky album in the 80's.
I met Bono at Glasgow Barrowlands when he joined Jim Kerr of Simple Minds on stage to cover The Doors track Light My Fire, and for me, this is the best and most insightful interview the guys have done in many many years.
Keep preaching what ya wanna hear!
Great interview. Many complain about U's U's involvement in politics. I think it is awesome there is actually a band that uses the role in the public eye to speak up and don't just make some shallow music. They love America and they fight for love and human rights. Bono started the ONE and the RED campaign and inspired so many to help to make this world a little better place. U2's music and the message they spread made me a better, more humble, loving and understanding person and I am very thankful to have this in my life. The only thing I wish would be that I would see or hear more about money donations from the band. They make so much money that I think they could share the cash more in areas in the world where it is needed. I think actually they do this already, but I think I would read more about it. This would maybe shut up some of the haters. I am a member of the U2 fan community and made some amazing friends over the years. I always say that if everyone would be a U2 fan or pay more attention to the message they send, this world would be a better place. There is absolutely nothing wrong with spreading joy and love as a message while making music.
Sadly, it seems we're now living in a generation that prefers to sneer, ridicule and piss on fires rather than chuck wood on them. Growing up, U2s music was/is something which captured the very 'egotistical' essence of positive thinking for me.. Sure, the new album is far from their best work, but it’s a big grower, bigger picture take than I absorbed from the initial listen. After all it’s a band trying to cater a HUGE global audience and well, it’s bound to be a little middle of the road and well, they’re getting on a bit now.. ‘But but but legal tax avoidance??’ ‘Bongo is a hypercritical twat’ say folk that fail to even comprehend the business entity that U2 has inevitably become.. a business that (regardless of what you think of musically or otherwise) helped encourage creditors of third world nations to cancel their debts. Haters gonna hate .. Perhaps why they're such easy targets of the all the critical bile we see nowadays, because truth is, they’re a force for good. How terribly unfashionable and out of touch of them.
Nelly Weini
These Irish love America more than some Americans. Rock N Roll Rebels with a Message! U2 aficionado over 30 years. Love, love, love forever......xo
Nelly Weini yes. I am old but happy, as Bono has said he is . But when I was young and the Unforgettable Fire was on the verge of release I heard a local radio interview with Bono where he said the hippie movement of the 60's was a good idea but after a few years it gave way to Sex, Drugs, and Rock n Roll. He said if he ever "made it" he would follow up on it's original inspiration and follow through best he can on making a difference best he could. And he has. Much respect to him for following through. It's not about money or fame. Or even saving the world. Free yourself to be yourself. Hopefully others will follow. Love this band. I have been there since I Will Follow. And hopefully will last with them in the years to come
Bonio battles with his conscience ... how much tax to dodge ...? 98% or the whole thing. LOL >,< How about a fake charity? Too much?
Long live Bono, Dave,Larry, and Adam. Legends in our hearts forever.
These guys have a ton of wisdom...but you have to be willing to hear it. Sometimes I like music that doesn't really mean anything, but overall I MUCH prefer having a band of intelligent human beings who see what's going on in the world, writing songs that mean something, that address the hopelessness and the difficulty and the angst of life--whether on a large scale or in the individual life--and do so without pulling punches, but also giving hope. U2 nails that. I'm grateful they care enough about this world to make some (intelligent) noise and try to do something about the issues. I also like that their hearts are for the people of this world, especially the downtrodden. God bless 'em.
Never stop what u2 are doing , not only for your fans yet for yourselves. :)
"You preach what you want to hear" ....so TRUE, Bono! Love you guys!
Great interview! 🥰💚🍀
GREAT U2!!
U2 lovely. The things about me! 😊 640
Great R&R Band !!
Don't forget " The Little Things That Give You Away" at the beginning !
Quando amo sto gruppo 😍😍U2 😍😍
I wish u2 would make rock music again. No line on the horizon was their last good record.
Perfect Love is the opposite of fear - 1 Jn 4:18
great video thank you Bono
As a massive obsessive U2 fan I love all there albums, the main 2 low points in their career is probably Rattle & Hum/& Songs of innocence (still better then most bands best work) even then those albums still have amazing tracks just didn't work as albums, ie in Rattle & Hum we had tracks like Heartland or God pt2 ect.. & with Innocence Sleep like a baby & Volcano' I want to say this new album is their best since the 90's or ATYCLB I'm totally love with it, & thank them for bringing us this bright gem in these dark times,,,,,, its always fasionable to diss U2 but truth be said, every band would want to do what U2 have done, be contemporary/cutting edge & sell so much at the same time, only bands like Beatles/Led Zep have done such things. This album will go down as a massive late career high like Bob Dylan's Time out of mind, its as good as their best albums' thank you guys;)
if they left "american soul" for glastonbury and changed the chorus on "the showman", this would be a great U2 album. nevertheless, much better than inocence. turning 58, not bad at all. does anyone hear jesse's girl in the showman chorus?
Fucking Legends 😊
Greatest band of all time all so humble
Fuck all the trolls and haters.
Cool
@ 12:59 That's an awesome frickin visual
I love music💖mary 🌹
Is anyone else thinking lately that they might be about to split up after this tour (E&I). Its as if they are playing absolutely everywhere to give everyone the chance to see them live plus the album concept I&E is like a musical autobiography. The complete U2 story from begining to the end.I sure hope not but just a gut feeling. What does everyone else think?
U2 ARE PERFECT, THAT'S ALL!
veryy nice
"I don´t believe that rock and roll can really change the world", GOD PART II....remember? I miss the old U2.
Remember when no one wanted to save the people of Africa from the AIDS epidemic? I do. Thank God, Bono stepped up and asked politicians from the US to help fund the epidemic those people faced. Without his voice there would be millions dead.
"When Reagan was elected..." Well, when he was elected many of us, beyond the liberal bi-coastal bubble, felt liberated. Like Bono says, "we preach what we want to hear." He ought to listen to himself preach.
Definitely "a way of seeing the world" ( :
6:28 These guys are genius! It is very hard to write political songs!
Go easy on me,
Go easy on me,
Biden.
I love you guys
HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY PAUL!
The Song Red flag Day has a little bit of the 80 years
Yep, I think it sounds like it could have been on the War album.
Norman Gebhardt sounds eerily like a forest by the cure
@@littlejimmyboro my thoughts exactly.
America is the greatest country in the world. U2 is smart enough to see that
los amoo ❤
I rieally like that shade of blue glas or is it lights? Or filter some kinde of ....
Bono and Geraldo are morphing into the same person.
Looks like a Red Flag Day!
TKJ/TB-41066, 41066...
Cudownie juz wiem jaka jest najgorsza płyta u2.Najnowsza
9:23 "When Reagan was elected, people felt quite defeated, quite confused. 'How did this happen?' "
ehehehh sounds familiar
That is some silly shit right there...Reagan was very beloved and his policies were great.
One of the best presidents to ever be.
Rescue me ......
..
¿Where are the live performances?
Bono has been adroit enough to avoid offending a huge part of his fan base...American conservatives. It's not the liberal left spending 200 dollars on a U2 tickets anymore. We are the fans who came of age during the Reagan era and he knows it...many of us loved Reagan and he dare not overly offend...dont forget, he is a business man...
I love the music boys........but what are you talking about?
The worlds most tone deaf band. But yet I'm still a fan. Interesting.
LOVE U2 but oddly enough The Edge sounds the same nomatter what guitar he plays lol
I'm enjoying the new album. Bono however has lost touch with politics mainly because he fails to understand the struggles of the average person. We're currently in a system of 3 Americas: The wealthy who are above the law, the poor and those who choose a lifestyle that is paid for by the government and taxpayers, and the average person low to middle income who pay for most of the programs including infrastructure, medical and welfare. We've also not gotten our monies worth, and have suffered under corruption and unaccountability. We're also tired of being preached to. Celebrities in general tell us 24/7 how we should feel and think and how to be a good person, and yet they're generally a mess. Not saying this about Bono in particular but he doesn't get it.
@Blackporsche roadster thats Ireland not America, and Bono has been in the upper class for most of his life so i think he has forgotten
I wonder what drugs did those critics take to say such weird interpretations
Older and trying hard to stay relevant.
The story of my life.
Yeah God is very forgiving but I don't think that you're going to repent of your sins the heart becomes hardened and you reject God long enough he will reject you then you're really in deep s***
What would yu say now about "America" now Mr Bono? Oh BTW...... America is a continent, not a nation.......
U2 used to be a rock band, not a political party.
Buzzweenie 2017 They never were a rock band and since the beginning they were political band
Go listen to Unforgettable Fire and War.
They were always political! Lol ever hear of a song called Sunday Bloody Sunday? And there are many many u2 songs like this esp from the 80’s. U2 being political is nothing new. And frankly it’s what makes them make amazing music!
See the new album the mexican deluxe edition

Is this a U2 plug or a Democrat commercial? I guess the two are mutual. Whata bunch of hacks
Crap
Bono Is a Homosexual
Thanks for that
