Should I have gotten another car... definitely not.. am i happy I got the new Project car.. HELL YES!! This is going to be one of the most fun builds EVER! Here is my new to me 2008 Honda Civic Mugen Si! I'm so excited to start modifying this car and making this thing awesome.

Do a fd front conversion and the rear. Mugen rr front bumper. Lower it. Ce28. And supercharger.

Build the motor boost it and leave it alone. Dont change any of the original Mugen stuff keep the rims kit etc. Just build it for boost.

I currently own an 09 fa5 and i love it. I came across a clean Mugen Si with 60k miles a few years ago but didnt end up buying it and i regret it now.

Coming from another 8th gen civic si owner, and unbiased opinion lol, these cars are underrated. Overall built is amazing for a daily driver...not fast but quick enough around town, good mpg (if out of vtec), reliable, cheap maintenance and more. Good investment!!

As an owner of 2 8th gens over 13 years I'm stoked to watch the build. imho, keep the body kit and the usdm front end, with some nice retrofit headlights but swap the trunk/tails for csx and bring over the real mugen wing. In the engine bay there are lots of choices - the aftermarket is nuts right now with options. if you want a no hassle daily look up the tongman and go sc instead of turbo, your'e making enough hp with the evo
Part of me is so excited and the other half of me wishes that you'd modify a regular SI rather than a mugen. They are hard enough to find mint as it is.
I feel the same. With a regular si he could change the exterior a bit more crazy (fd2 type r conversion or mugen rr) whereas with an actual mugen si, he has to keep the exterior looks as it is very rare. Oh well still nice to see dustin build an 8th gen sedan
Making me miss mine so bad!! Had full bolt ons with a CTE supercharger kit, vittuned aftercooler kit, merc snout,j37 TB and man was it awesome!!
Word of advice if you want to do a BBK get you some DC5 brembos and s2000 rotors. Super cheap and awesome upgrade.

I had an 08 sedan civic in silver, non si but it was probably the best car I’ve ever owned. I now drive a ‘19 WRX and can honestly say nothing will be as bulletproof, reliable, and get better mpg than that civic.

Am an 8th generation civic owner. Two things to note:
1. They’re known for clearcoat failure. IIRC it only affects the dark colors. White, Silver and i believe red does not suffer from it.
2. 8th gens (mostly the 06-08) typically suffer from a 3rd gear grind basically due to a crap cmc. Honda has revised it and the revised part is essentially what’s used on the 9th generation civics. Another way to remedy it is to use a EM1 cmc.
IMO the 8th generation was the last good civic generation until the most recent FK chassis.
I've never owned or probably will own a civic but I'm stoked to see this build! Keep it up bro!

You said the Mugen is the only one that comes in Fiji Blue, but that is incorrect, Fiji Blue was available on the normal Si from 06-08. I have a Fiji Blue 2007 Si coupe.
You should build it with all mugen parts. Make it a full on mugen build

Man. i was your nº1 fan, now i still your nº1 fan. i had 7 hondas in my entire life, i still have my 2007 civic si, with the Mugen kit (front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper with the formula 1 brake light, 75mm skunk 2 exhaust and cold air intake and header). i bought the car in USA in 2012, and i brought here to Cape Verde where i live and i made all the changes. i can be more happy for you, i´m a huge Honda fan. i hope you threat this car like he deserve. good luck man.

The Lip Kit, Spoiler, Shocks and Springs, muffler, the front grill and shift knob is what makes the Mugen unique

I had a 2008, 09, 2011 si, I love them to death. I wanted to do full mugen conversion but only way to get the mugen grill is if you already own the mugen model 😭 congrats dude you’ll love it for sure 😈

Congrats on a rare find! I miss my 08 Civic Si Sedan. Mine was a Black one but I found the Mugen exhaust and put it on!! Nothing like that sound on any Civic!!!❤️❤️❤️

My Older Brother has a Mugen Si also, its fucking nice, and it really brings alot of people’s attention. He bought it around 30K with Low Mileage but honestly worth it, to have a rare car. But liking the Mugen RR tho

New favorite channel bro, 8th gen Si's have a ton of potential! I would swap the transmission fluid asap just incase it hadn't been changed in awhile because these 8th gens are notorious for gear grinding issues if you let them get low on fluid.

It’s beautiful man. Been wanting another one ever since I sold my 08 Si. There’s just something about it. The Fiji Blue is definitely my favorite color and although the Mugen Si’s only came in Fiji Blue, other standard Si’s were available in that color too.
Definitely get that respray and re-tint the windows first! Can’t wait to see it’s evolution!

Don’t worry about the mileage as long as the previous owners maintained it correctly the motor will last you a life Time. All I’ve owned is k series motors and let me tell you they love BOOST! If your looking into tuning it I suggest you buy a (Hondata flash pro) short shifter I would suggest the (hybrid racing short shifter) congrats on the new car I love it

If you put the short shifter in you will need to upgrade your master and slave cylinder if you want to shift fast. Stocks ones have restrictions inside.

I say clean up the paint, keep the stock wheels and suspension, but add a little power, maybe stay NA or go small turbo to keep it a fuel efficient vehicle but fun to drive!!
