  • An awesome looking NEW Skoda Kodiaq Ground Response Vehicle of the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity is seen responding from their base in Bristol using an epic Rumbler / Howler siren!
    This vehicle is crewed by Critical Care Team Doctors, based in Patchway, Bristol.
    Also seen in the video are Police cars responding from Avon and Somerset Police, Ambulance vehicles, from The South Western Ambulance Service, A very slow unmarked Police or Ambulance Driver training unit, and Fire Engines amd trucks responding from the Avon Fire and Rescue Service.
    I'm assuming the undercover car (Skoda) is a driver training unit?
    Bristol, England, UK 🇬🇧

    My first thoughts when I watched this was, I could close my eyes and just listen, be hard to differenciate one emergency service vehicle from another apart from the speed possibly.
    Still think this country should have different sirens/horns for the different services, particularily like the electronic two tones which some european countries fire engines have.

  • @blue.light.fazbear
    @blue.light.fazbear 3 года назад +8

    Very nice! I don’t think the rumble siren is a Howler, I think it is just a low frequency siren speaker, like the ones RSG make

    • @j.jonesey4002
      @j.jonesey4002 3 года назад +1

      No so what it is, is certain manufacturers name it different things, Federal Signal call it a rumber, Whelen call it a howler i believe.

    • @blue.light.fazbear
      @blue.light.fazbear 3 года назад +2

      @@j.jonesey4002 this siren uses a Premier Hazard siren but it sounds like it has an RSG rumbler speaker on it however those speakers only work on 200 watt RSG siren modules so I’m not too sure. I think Premier Hazard probably do the same thing. I do really like the addition of the rumblers on the critical care care, it is a very good idea as it can significantly speed up response times which is important when dealing with severe trauma incidents. I wish the Midlands Air Ambulance trauma cars they have in my area had Howlers (they use Whelen sirens)

    • @dragonemergencyvideos
      @dragonemergencyvideos  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! I'm not sure tbh

    • @toreou
      @toreou 2 года назад +1

      Well, even though there are many low frequency external siren amplifiers out there available, they don't really sound the same if you listen carefully. The Whelen Howler, Federal Signal Rumbler, RSG Rumble and the Code 3 Banshee have different range of frequencies so that it does make a difference. Therefore, we shouldn't call all the low frequency siren "Rumbler" even though Federal Signal was the first to introduce it to the market.

    • @blue.light.fazbear
      @blue.light.fazbear 2 года назад +1

      @@toreou this siren is probably using the Code3 Banshee (Code 3 now owns Premier Hazard). I think people tend to call those types of sirens Rumblers as a blanket term because Federal Signal were the original makers of this technology with other companies making their own editions which aren’t as widely known about in comparison to the native Rumbler system.

    Id rather not use the term "insane" it's rather vulgar considering the circumstances and their context in this video.unbelievebly these sirens have been tested in Lincolnshire over many years to gauge public awareness and reaction times to allow them to either pull over or slow down allowing the emergency vehicles to get to the incident they are dispatched to and the vehicles are fitted with rather strategically placed cameras to gather the information they need to judge the public's reaction times, before it was disbanded the A&E Flying Squad based at Lincoln County Hospital had a " SIREN" with a magnitude of different tones like nothing else in the UK... it was impossible to ignore the Squad car even from a couple of miles away.On hearing the sirens for the 1st time the public often looked up to the sky it was that unique and nobody ever ignored it quite simply it put the " wind" up them and was not intimidating but instantly recognisable as a emergency vehicle.For the record Lincolnshire is extremely rural and the roads can be straight for miles and suddenly your in the "brown stuff" when tractors and a multitude of farm vehicle pop out from fields, blind bends and junctions like nowhere else in the UK,so you've been warned others never got that chance...it's not as flat and boring as cruelly as people make it out to be .....read the statistics.... they are rather grim.
