Whoo, weight reduction! Is the hood your own mold? The Jetta was kinda overlooked for larger CF parts than the Golf was that generation. On those mk4 cars, there's a zillion little brackets that could be fussed with, that are far heavier than needed. And, after that: fastener swaps where VW used huge/long bolts in non critical places that could be swapped shorter. I forget what you have or haven't done to the Jetta, suspension wise. Have you ever looked into the TT/R32 front wheel hub swap? Implicitly that's a brake upgrade up front, too. It won't be weight reduction, but it makes an improvement to the car's handling in the corners. I loved that change on my TDI mk4, even though I only used 1.8T caliper carriers and the next size up 288x25mm vented disks.
