If you want the mine carts to move faster, take out the blocks where they move around the corners. "Wattles" explained the mechanics that will slow down the cart when it is up against something, especially corners. For maximum speed, you need to have a clear space between the rail and wall.
If you ever need extra bone blocks for building, just talk to Tango. He has more bones than he will ever know what to do with from his wither skeleton farm.
I hope you have some protection from phantoms up there on the spawning platform. Glass doesn't stop them from spawning, and there's no walls to keep them out if they randomly dive down.
For the issue with the witch flying machine, could you just make them both slime block sweeping bars? In the end of both bars, you could have a solid block. Like Slime slime slime glass glass slime slime etc.
I thought the same thing, I was wondering if anyone else had thought of it. He said in the video that he'd thought of a solution, I wonder if that was it?
I was actually inspired a lot by how you made your kelp farm a proper decorated building and I actually covered my general mobfarm up as a massive jail tower thing, even used the new tinted glass to see into it at parts! I really love it! Hope to see more decorated farms that aren't just functional but fit into a base
you can fix the sweepers in the witch farm by building both out of slime and in the middle and where the two sweepers are touching, replace them with regular blocks.
Hey xisumavoid! I'm impressed with all that redstone building. It's to challenging for what I enjoy in game play, but hat's off to you. I liked some comments. More fans need to know that when comments get liked too; then the video will show up more in RUclips. It's a good way to support a channel for those of us who have the extra time. I appreciate the family friendly content created by all the people with the Hermitcraft Server!
This has already been commented but it looks like the kelp is getting stuck in flowing water. If I was to guess, you made a temporary floor to make the top flowing water that pushes the kelp to the sides. If you used full blocks that don’t water log, you may have unintentionally removed the water source block that take the kelp the whole way up. The growing kelp might naturally fix it if it grows to the top. You can also easily fix it with kelp from the farm itself.
Its super risky to use the kelp. If it grows just 1 too high (which it will), it'll mess up the flow on the top layer. Worst case scenario, the top layer would need to be redone from scratch.
There's a really cool trick where you can use pistons to push around a square of different height blocks that will move items towards the middle, it's basically a giant funnel. Open fence gate in the middle, the a ring of trapdoors, then a ring of half slabs, etc. It might not be big enough for your goals, but it is big enough it would be neat. I know mumbo used something similar a season or two ago to funnel the drops from a gold farm into a line of hoppers, but it's more fun as a square.
Have you tried reversing the water so the kelp goes to the middle? Then you can place 4 open gates to make a pipe entry. And place a sould sand at the bottom, then build a glass pipe above the gates. Then drop the kelp into a pickup point somewhere else.
I really like the ilmango middle-block redstone on these mob farms. It's 1) dispenserless, so you don't get any timing/sync issues, and 2) the layers alternate perfectly, so half the farm is always able to spawn mobs at all times.
Easiest way to make sure all of water blocks in kelp farm are source blocks is probably by growing the kelp all the way to the top with bonemeal. Else, you might be able to fill the top layer manually by placing buckets of water all around the edge -but its harder to tell when you have finished.
You could still use the flying machines on the mob farm, if you time the sweep of the flying machine to be a couple seconds after the water is dispensed. That way all the mobs have fallen to the ground and died, and then the sweep pushes all of the items in one go across.
I’m not sure how big a fan I am of these server-wide events where everyone’s videos end up being the exact same thing for a couple weeks… but ultimately what’s important is that you guys are having fun!
for your witch hut design, just make the honey a slime block and have the ends of each flying machine be a block. It would make it so that you could have 2 slime flying machines next to eachother
Water logged signs below the flowing water helps to guide the kelp all the way up to the top. The signs also work as a invisble block to stop growing kelp meaning you can make kelpfarm only a few blocks tall. Someone said the thing about the signs in the episode when you made the farm.
At the areas where there's no source block, the water will push the items downwards. It's the reason you need to fill a soulsand water elevator with kelp (source blocks) all the way, otherwise the items (and player) won't flow up, but be pushed down, by the downwards flowing water
I used the scaffolding hit box to make a pretty easy to build creeper farm that gets me over 2000 gunpowder an hour. For the edge where the water overflows I just used trapdoors for a bit of extra distance, and mostly spider proofed the spawning layers with scaffolding pillars. It’s so much cheaper than normal creeper farms because I didn’t need to use a ton of trapdoors over all the spawning spaces
as many here say, yes it is the missing water source blocks under the top source for pick up. to fix this, just place ice blocks on the complete top level and break them. if you build your farm smart you can use ice blocks directly to place you waterstream on there ( i wasn't).
For the kelp issue, the top most layers of water are source blocks so the items won't float to the top. Also, I suggest using power rails instead of rails for the observer chain. It's less laggy.
If you want to use flying machines to harvest the mob farm loot, it should be possible to use smaller flying machines with honey and slime blocks covered with other blocks to sweep. That should prevent them from saving the mobs.
X the solution to fix the mob farm is rlly simple aswell. If you put up a wall on each side of every platform just 1 block away then make a 1 block wide trench on the ground to match the platform all mobs will be filtered into that trench. then ofc add the minecart in the trench
The allay as much as I like the idea might not be the best idea, maybe 1 or 2 for non-stackables but not for mass collection. Maybe keep it as a platform the mobs splat on and just have a minecraft running back and forth over the area, keep it simple.
If scaffolding blocks path finding, do you know if it would reduce villager lag is you put all your villagers on scaffolding? Seems more convenient than multiple layers of carpet.
Very interesting to see some redstone as I have been thinking about using a collection system with minecarts like you showed. Thanks for the explanations Xisoma!
You could probably place slabs or blocks on the slime and honey blocks of the flying machines in the collection system. As long as the flying machines aren't too big, they should still be able to move and mobs falling on them will die.
The solution to the witch thingie is just to put a crystal block in the tip of the slime one, and make the other one slime too, no need to be connected.
X, I followed you for Redstone, and videos exactly like this. This stuff gets tiring for you, it takes forever. But Redstone heavy is absolutely amazing. Thanks :)

Since kelp doesn't always grow to max height, you can't rely on it to turn all the water blocks to sources when building the farm. Unfortunately, you're going to need to go back and place a bunch of ice to make sure it's all turned to source blocks. Also, for the flying arms in the witch farm, I'd think you could do 2 slime block flying arms and just replace the two middle blocks with anything that sticks to slime so the flying arms don't meld.
