Hey there, the REAL Dave Hanson here... IGNORE all the scammer comments impersonating me and asking you to reach out to them for crypto or investment advice. It's all a scam. I report and block them but they keep coming back. I try to reply to as many comments as I can but the REAL Dave is not on Whatsapp and I will never ask for money or crypto.

The real scammers often use the RUclips channel logo or picture of
the person they are trying to impersonate. To catch them just click on
the logo and you will get to their channel. Usually, they have no content
or miniscule number of subscribers in comparison to Dave (in this case).
I always report them to RUclips. Happy RUclips To All

@Daniel Sullivan I know right, this guy told us nothing about Crypto NFT except for the top three sellers in the category of digital artwork and the handful millionaires buying the artwork up. Mind you, most of the infomation is available on their website. I separated my rant about how useless to information given to us during this video the information below is really what the whole video should have been about.
Like @Daniel Sullivan mentioned above, Logan Paul ended up being in 3 out 7 sections for about 4.5 mins of run time. He bought Pokemon Cards not even NFT's. Sure, his team is going to sell them but not in the NFT format so there wasnt even a reason to waste everyones time by putting him in.

I'm sorry guys, but nfts really don't make any sense for me. I really don't see how an nft is unique (like digital highlight reels) when you can get the exact same thing from just watching a RUclips highlight reel. Simply saying that oh, but "it's imprinted on a block chain, that's what makes it unique" sounds ridiculous to me. Or how about someone seeing an image and tracing it out say in photoshop, and then selling it as there own? I guess it's just confusing how you as the buyer would know that they are the actual creator of that piece and how to protect your own art work from being stolen.

Thing about nft's is because of crypto's anonymity I could buy a set of nft's, sell them to myself over 10's to hundreds of different crypto addresses at higher and higher prices. Record all of these transactions to the blockchain basically anonymously and eventually sell to whoever gets convinced of this crazy value. This is already done within the art market and also collectibles, however that is done way more visibly with more people involved, but with crypto one person with a lot of time could do it all themselves.

Why would anyone buy art, when they could buy a poster for a fraction of the original painting price. Where is the value of a painting? Let's say you hang a Picasso on your living room, what is the difference in your enjoyment and in value if you found out that it was an indistinguible fake. Your enjoyment and experience previous to finding out would have been exactly the same, but not the value. The issue with virtual art is that up until now all copies were fakes even the original one, that's what this technology is giving the artist and the collectors, a way to be sure that that painting on your wall is the original, we went from no possibility of originality to total certainty.
Plus when you buy art you are not paying for a canvas with painting on it, you are purchasing beauty, creativity, vision, an investment, but it's also about rewarding the artist, which was very difficult to do with digital artists until now...

So if the value of an NFT is dictated by how much someone is willing to pay for it in an auction type format, then how can anyone be assured that it will retain its value over time respective to other NFTs? In other words, who or what will dictate the value of an NFT? Seems to me that the only people who are benefiting financially for certain from the NFTs are the creators who are selling them. If I blow thousands of dollars on an NFT, or crytpo, there’s no way to say that my NFT will retain its value, correct? It seems like it depends on the origin of the NFT rather than the NFT itself.

I still don't understand the appeal of Digital Art. What do you own exactly? With a Picaso, you have the physical object, you have it on your wall, people can come look at it, it's famous, the artist is famous, there's a story there. A cryptopunk? You basically buying the story of novelty? The first in this new art market? You can print out that crypto punk and put it on your wall but, it would be a print. There's nothing stopping me from doing the same and hanging it on my wall. You can't even show that yours is the authentic one and mine is the fake without pulling out a computer and doing some very complicated things with a blockchain. I love Beeple. He does great work, I'm happy that he's getting rich off of it but, he's basically selling the "ownership" of digital works he's created and distributed for free. What exactly does ownership of a digital good mean? Especially once it's already been widely distributed? It's not the rights to the work so it's not as if I'm stopped from taking any of those Beeple works, printing it out and hanging it on my wall... This feels like a fad that will fade quickly. Like all high-priced art, it might be a good investment/value movement/tax evasion vehicle for rich people and less rich people thinking that whatever rich people do is glamourous might hop on but, I don't see the utility. Digital art doesn't have the original/copies dichotomy that traditional art has.

If you have money to burn, why not support artists and new technology? Like the internet in the 90’s it may blow up but ONE THING IS FOR SURE, what will remain is an undeniable empowering of creative artists through this new technology. How empowering is it to be able to authenticate and essentially copyright your own work, then sell and earn royalties on subsequent sales. Some of these artists have been contributing/publishing their graphics/music to the entire internet population for years and maybe even decades. I’m super happy to see they are getting a pay day 😃 Some very well deserved and some lucky 🍀 Would not recommend collecting in hopes of trading to make a buck, markets can tank after the hype.
