Nothing like an era of cars that will never come back. Now, we need to find a way to cripple the auto industry to make them make good cars like this again..
Just bought a 1999 LX470 with 147k miles for $1,000. Needed a battery and could used fresh tires. Everything works as it should. Service schedule kept by Lexus and garage kept by a local business owners mother, who became too old to drive.
The older I get I really appreciate early 2000's cars, they didn't tune every cars suspension to be sporty and stiff and unable to feel every small crack in the road. This Era of cars suspension was so smooth and "floaty" feel no bumps.
I sold my 100 series for a 2022 GX, this video is making me miss it a bit 😂 I had rust and some pending maintenance, so it was the right call, but I still miss it. Couldn’t justify the size of the 200/LX570, so GX it was for me. Towards the end my car started to sound like this a bit unintentionally thanks to an exhaust manifold leak 😬 great video!
The tuner at my shop has an 06 (the later years are the better to get with the 5 speed and VVTI variant of this engine) and its got about 250k on it now. Its crazy just how well these were made, if you were blindfolded and heard it fire up you would never know its an almost 20 year old car that's creeping up on 300k, its a shame that cars like these really aren't made anymore
Favorite LX. To this day, my previous 200k 2000 LX470 still went down the road more solidly, handled better, rode better and felt “better” than all my newer GX’s & LX600 after. Legendary gen. Love this one and the specs💯
Love the 470 compared to the 460. Low end torque makes you forget about the other numbers. I am going to say the early model LX and GX transmissions were better as well. Compared to the one joined with the GX 460. Less sensors, more of just it works.
Awww man really beautiful car. I think the older I get the more and more a older car that is reliable is more enticing. I'd love to have to travel across country. If it were up to me I'd pick this over a M-car!
The interior still isn't even broken in yet...lol Lexus are just a different breed...period. The new ones sadly probably won't be as reliable as the older ones though.
Could be a brake pedal switch causing the issues with the cruise control. Try putting your foot under the brake pedal and lifting up. Might fix it 🤷♂️
Nothing like early 2000’s Lexus
My 2007 is pretty nice. It’s just a is250😂
1988-2007 lexus/toyota= golden age of the automobile

Absolutely agree. Great vehicles back then.

The ultimate HOLLY GRAIL of 2000s luxury SUVs!!
No cayenne turbo s?😢

this reminds me a lot of my GX 460 with electric cutouts. Its a great DD. No one expects the Lexus to have that sound to it.
The 4.6 sounds so much better than the 4.7 .
The 4.6 wants to rev and it sounds good doing it .
The stuff they were making 20 or so years ago was in my opinion peak Lexus
I loved Topher’s GX460 he had several years ago.

Those Fifteen52 wheels look so damn good on this

That sound is amazing.
Man I CANT WAIT for the videos of the 1998 Lexus GS400 man

Good on ya for not having big wheels and actually having sidewall. Everyone in SUVs and trucks put huge wheels on them for no reason
God this styling is so great! Timeless simplicity
What a classy and resilient car. 2000s’ Lexus were something exceptional,
I loved seeing these on the road growing up
I added a chip level 3 tune to mine it increased the gas mileage by 2 miles per gallon, and defiantly power increased
Miss those gold emblems on Toyota and Lexus :,(
I have an 04. They are truly amazing.
I have a 2003 Toyota Avalon XLS (leather interior), rides like a cloud and it's been bulletproof the last 4 years!
This was my childhood dream car.
Same just bought one that arrives in a few days.
Look at that beautiful 2000s Lexus interior ❤️❤️👏👏 this was one of THE cars to have back in the day if you wanted all out luxury 👏👏
My dad had a 99 and a 02, bought both of them new. They were such nice vehicles, wish we still owned them.
Wish the LX470 was sold in the UK! Sounds great, love a Toyota Lexus V8. ISF owner myself!
That is a beautiful specimen! ❤
nothing like the 2uz
First car I ever drove, amazing memories
It could be faulty brake pedal switch preventing to engage cruise control. Had same issue with mine ‘06 LX. Love you Topher
1990-2020 best era of lexus....
sounds absolutely hilarious, but great

The suv that lives forever!!!
Lexus Lx: I am speed! 😂

They don't use salt in Colorado? I'm a bit confused there.
Timeless machine
man this thing is awesome
It sounds really nice, exhaust leak and all 😂
Gorgeous ... was the steering wheel replaced, looks very clean?
Mercedes makes those mileage stickers too. I doubt you’ll see any of these new 2.0 twin charged or twin charge hybrid Volvos with those stickers
These trucks are great to buy used
you sold your v8 4runner!? where was the update lol
There’s one cruise control module on the Lexus
0:22 same chime as 1st gen sequoia
And as many older Hyundais
Not gaining any performance gain with just a delete, actual you’ll almost always see a dip in torque.
Aye M119 sticker
Is this an older video are has that one road been closed forever?😂
