Now that they know what we love, they'll remove it within days like the surrender button and original anub, right?
Doesn't mean it's not a balancing issue regardless. Just cause we'll get a couple weeks where collateral damage means shaman isn't as necessary doesn't mean we won't be right back in this situation eventually. That's also assuming they fix malf seeds blocking collateral damage. Cause shaman is relevant in malf v malf matchups otherwise, which is what the meta will devolve into if this bug isn't fixed

Farming from the old way isn't "hurt" by this change. It's really going to get much, much more common. Before, you needed to push the ladder to get rewards. Now, victory road is trivial to complete. ~2 matches/day will finish it. Anything additional will just speed it up. That leaves this secret "placement reward" ladder that doesn't have anything to push towards other than bragging rights. For the vast majority of players, there's nothing to see here. That creates a few buckets of player types: 1) Won't finish victory road 2) Will do just enough to finish victory road and then stop pvp 3) Will finish victory road and don't care about placement 4) Care about placement (victory road finishes naturally) Type 1 and 2 aren't all that important for tuning. Type 2 will likely get more rewards now than they were prior as they weren't likely pushing the reward tree before or worried about maximimizing benefit. Type 4 pushes hard to get that top 100. Most people aren't falling into that category. I'd generally think you wouldn't either. You've been steadfast in pvp but mostly focused on reaching 20k for all the required rewards. I've never really seen you push much beyond that. The largest group of pvp people are going to fall into type 3. Finish victory road for all the rewards. Don't care to get bragging rights in top 100ish range (That we can't even see). For that group, once they're done with victory road, the placement really doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if it affects your overall rating. You're just farming xp. You can tank the entire honor same as you'd tank an individual leader before with no real penalty, just time. The mechanics don't hurt xp farming, at all. Rather, they reduce the overall reward to pvp (~13-14k before was more reward than the entire victory road). They also minimize incentive for the only "end game" content the game has. The question isn't "is it harder to farm xp?" but instead "why bother farming xp?" given the reason to farm xp previously was to build out a stronger collection for potential pvp comps. If you're at that level, you clear all the pve content easily. But, there's less of a need to farm out pvp comps because you can play a single comp the entire season. Not needing to use 3 to make up your score removes any incentive to create variety. Just play what's best and ignore the rest. To your point, most of the time it's just play Malf. Build him up and neglect the rest. There are some enchants that make him a little less viable. But even in those he does well. And if you want to build a second leader for those times, great. If you want to go all in on a Hogger for heroes resolve, great. That's 2-3 comps ever. The incentive is gone. But, there's also no other incentive to push once you've cleared the pve content now unless you really, really enjoy pvp. If that's true, you already had a ladder to push.
I hope the latest change is a bug and not intentional. When you said it wouldn’t be necessary to play with three leaders and you could play with all of them, I thought, “Cool, that will bring variety.” The strategy of playing with only one leader would die because you'd need to play with all of them. But no, you elevated the "play with one leader" strategy to an absolute. It's terrible-it only got worse. Now everyone plays Malfurion. And it’s not Malfurion's fault. If he gets nerfed, someone else will take his place. The problem is that you can stick to one leader. I thought you’d keep the old point tracker for each hero, and the rating would be the sum of those points. Then, to climb higher, you’d need to score a couple of thousand points even with the weakest hero. The meta would be as diverse as possible.
This might be cope, but I think the meta will be a more varied if malf gets fixed for collateral, and even more so if he gets nerfed. One reason I know some people didn't play all their leaders is the grind of ranking them up to be relevant to your honor score. With the change, that's no longer a reason. Same with the reason of using low ranking leaders for XP farm like bulava mentioned. Now if someone wants to play 1 leader they can, but they can also play 10 leaders and not effectively be wasting time on 6-7 of them. If we get to a meta where 6-7 leaders are S/A tier and therefore are all viable, that makes things a lot better, since you can swap based on variety, possibly counter queuing, or other reasons while still hopefully climbing. But yeah that's major cope, cause they seem to be unwilling to change the things that are killing pvp like malf, AoW, etc.
Possible solutions: - Add separate queues for Casual and Ranked PvP (casual queue would be based on equal levels) - Rework Ancient of War talents, especially Lighting Rod. Combine Behemoth and Sapling into single talent, 5- Sapling 6+ Behemoth. Create a new interesting talent for Ancient of War.

In the lore, Malfurion and Tyrande never had children naturally, which makes us think one of those may be infertile due to war or something (imagine having to deal with elven periods for 10 000 years somehow). So OF COURSE, his potent seeds needed to be released somewhere ! Here it is.
I think the End-of-Season Rewards are a pretty good idea. Blizzard probably should have waited until they have the leaderboard online, so everbody can see it. I even like the victory road as an incentive for players to play PvP. Though it should be a road for the whole season, not doable in two hours or less. But not being able to play PvP anymore with different heroes without screwing up my rating is abysmal and destroys everything for me. You are forced to play one imbalanced leader all the time. At least this could easily be fixed if Blizzard is willing to. If not I won't play al lot of PvP in the future.
You get points even if you lose now. So with surrender button more people could just start the game and immediately surrender to climb the ladder quicker, which would make pvp totally unplayable, at least on low rating.

I want the Old PvP system back! - with an ended MALFunction/bugfixes and an Ancient of War with just 1 spell-/1 unbound- block. - a visible worldwide ladderranking - earnable cosmetics for higher ranks - + 2-3 new Maps with a downvote system like in WC3 and maybe one day per week, where only one map is playable _(much more deck/leader variety)_ THIS SUCKS so hard! Casual adjustments were always teh slow death of Blizzard games... _(I remember when they started to don't show your overall losses anymore in SC2 °_o) Having 3 or maybe 5 leaders you have to sum up to your overall ranking gives much more variety, and 1 min more playtime was also better. P.S.: AND PLEASE STOP GIVING US NEW UNITS until your game is working ....

Played one game and noped out of there so hard. I don't know how the fuck this abomination was green lit. The speed of units being slammed down is unreal and takes away so much strategy and the uniqueness of the minis. I HATE THIS.
Basically I only ever PvP so I can get the Exp awarded further to push 160 sigil completion that my real goal. I like the pvp system yeah its got some flaws but I’m also trash at pvp so I don’t need cores and arclight energy that badly. PvPers more power to you 👍

On a first glance, and especially with the new heroes, the game looks great. But the truth is, its all copy-paste events now and they are becoming increasingly p2w, albeit slowly. Out of 5 new minis we've had, even Eclipse turned out to be so-so, Dire Batlings becoming the only decent one. There is less content now than we had 6 months ago, and thats quite an achievement. But hey, at least we are getting free stuff literally thrown at us on a daily basis 😂 Its not even worth talking about bugs, they are everywhere and Malfurion one is a disaster, but that has always been the way of Rumble. Like when the spells couldnt target the base in PvP for weeks.
I already snitched to Blizzard that my guildmate downloaded an update and got 25k honor instantly. He has 15 wins in PVP! I was in Dark Iron III. yesterday and dropped to Platinum I. today. So 5k honor lost just because of an update. 😂

Why don't change the modifier each day randomly ? With that we need to adapt and there is no meta for X weeks. Specialy when now you just have to spam the same broken hero during x weeks = malf ( glad, jaina can beat malf sometimes) and also, the spam of chaman...
While i do understand how these changed are bad/negative for those top ladder players for example 15K rating, they are overall positive for the majority of people who either dont Pvp, are probably below even 9-10K and who in general dont spend much time playing Rumble in general . Its bad for the minority of top 1 or 0.1% of Pvp players but its positive for the rest, since its basically free rewards each season.
You could be getting something in the previous system as well. They just had to refresh bronze silver and gold every season. No need to revamp the entire thing

The recent changes and the PVP meta are making me quit the game. Everything they release is half-baked. It's unfortunate that Blizzard ruined a game with such amazing potential. I love PVP and PVE, but it's clear to me that Blizzard doesn't care about balancing the PVP and making the game competitive. After all, there is still no way to run tournaments by allowing two players to face each other.

Ive been playing rumble a whole year now. I must say that this change is just mediocre levels of game design and issapointment. This type of shit emplyees with terrible ideas are the ones that should be sent off the company. This PVP system with no actual balance changes to make t fun are destroying the game and making players abandon. I used to love the game but i never figured out like why not just make different costumes to get money? Why in the actual fuck just make more "patch" every time that are incomplete and that obs¿iously is not even tried to see if it works? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: WHY THE FUCK MAKE THE GAME UNPLAYABLE? WHY MAKE IT SO THAT ITS NOT FUN? WHO IS THE IDIOT AT BLIZZARD GIVING SHIT DRUGS TO EMPLOYEES TO MAKE THEM THINK THESE ARE GOOD IDEAS? We will see you in another game. They removed surrender button because you get Victory Points even if you lose. So you could surrender x Times to get the full tree...

The fix to Malfurion is easy. Keep him as is for pve content , but BAN him in pvp. Problem fixed.

As for me, I like the new system of rewards, average player can claim now a lot more rewards. Before I could claim rewards from 10k-13k. It is not too much comparing to this new system. And in the end you also claim rewards that summarise one after another. So, it's my subjective opinion and I don't like your opinion as for new pvp rewards. As for Malfurion, yep, he is really annoying!!!
