This is going to be a very long text. I apologize in advance for it: This song came out shortly after my 5th birthday (I looked it up and it is pretty much exactly 5 days later) and it was a big hit here in Germany so I heard it quite a lot on the radio when I was a child and I always liked it because I didn't know English then so it sounded like a very happy song. The year 2019 was an extremely difficult one for me with worrying a lot about people who are very important to me and their lives and therefore getting very bad grades at school. I seriously thought about dropping out one year before graduating since I was told I would never be able to pass my A-level exams and also didn't think myself that I could do it. In autumn of that year, when things started to change for the better a bit, I heard this song on the radio again after completely forgetting about it for more than a decade. I immediately cried when I heard the first words of the song since now, I did understand everything. I know now that this song is about overcoming the hard times we all experience and learning how to heal up and be happy again afterwards. It gave me the strength not to give up when I thought my live was over and I would never be happy again. I promised myself that when things were better, I was going to play this song again. I graduated last year with better grades than I would ever have thought of as possible less than a year before. The day I received my grades I listened to this song and cried again. However, this time it was because I was incredibly happy. I would like to thank Melanie C and every creator of this song for creating it, since I think that it is very special and personal not only to me, but also to millions of others. I hope this can give all of you who are facing challenges and going through other hard things in life a bit of hope to continue whatever you are doing and not give up no matter how hard it is. If you are unhappy right now, and if you think that nothing could ever be worse than your life is right now, it won't last forever. This song bring back so much memorys. In Germany this song was the intro to "Julia - Wege zum Glück" and my grandpa watched every single episode. So, during summer holiday, everyday, while he was watching the series on TV I was playing with my toys next to him. I must have been 8 years old.
Now I'm 26, my grandpa died 13 years ago. But everytime when I hear this song I feel like sitting in the living room with him.

This song came out shortly after my 5th birthday (I looked it up and it is pretty much exactly 5 days later) and it was a big hit here in Germany so I heard it quite a lot on the radio when I was a child and I always liked it because I didn't know English then so it sounded like a very happy song.
The year 2019 was an extremely difficult one for me with worrying a lot about people who are very important to me and their lives and therefore getting very bad grades at school. I seriously thought about dropping out one year before graduating since I was told I would never be able to pass my A-level exams and also didn't think myself that I could do it. In autumn of that year, when things started to change for the better a bit, I heard this song on the radio again after completely forgetting about it for more than a decade. I immediately cried when I heard the first words of the song since now, I did understand everything. I know now that this song is about overcoming the hard times we all experience and learning how to heal up and be happy again afterwards. It gave me the strength not to give up when I thought my live was over and I would never be happy again. I promised myself that when things were better, I was going to play this song again.
I graduated last year with better grades than I would ever have thought of as possible less than a year before. The day I received my grades I listened to this song and cried again. However, this time it was because I was incredibly happy.
I would like to thank Melanie C and every creator of this song for creating it, since I think that it is very special and personal not only to me, but also to millions of others.
I hope this can give all of you who are facing challenges and going through other hard things in life a bit of hope to continue whatever you are doing and not give up no matter how hard it is. If you are unhappy right now, and if you think that nothing could ever be worse than your life is right now, it won't last forever. One day you will look back at it and be incredibly proud of yourself that you made it out of it. And for all of you who need to hear it right now: You are extremely beautiful and special.
