    I think Tricking has importance, as it is a form of human movement experimantalism. Carrying forward an attitude of pushing the envelope of capability allows all physical endeavors to prosper. Alongside MA's, we evolve together with an open mindset. Thats why the sport of MMA (and hopefully MA's as a whole) continues to change over time.

    Coming from a tricking background on the martial arts side GNT's explanation is sound. Tricking moves can have a time and a place where the opponent doesn't expect it but not be the first move you throw right off the bat.
    And don't forget that martial arts trickers( vs non trained trickers aka backyard trickers but thats a whole other discussion) were trained to fight in competition & self defense before they started focusing on pushing body & technique limits with tricking.

    I'm okay with tricking and fancy moves, I just don't like how it's like more than one spin per attack, because it's like running a joke in a standup routine for too long. Something like spinning back heel hook kick -> jumping spinning back heel hook kick, or jab -> straight -> doumawashi kaiten geri is way more up my alley.

    people should try parkour or free running aswell. it teaches you how to improvise and move. I have been doing parkour for 4 years now and I just started kick boxing. I'm better than most people in my class right off the bat just from being able to learn fast and tell my body what to do quicker. tricking takes a pretty long time to get good at compared to parkour. fear is another element I feel gets reduced

    • @aezzil3536
      @aezzil3536 7 лет назад

      I would love to try parkour, but my boring city has nothing special to offer, only sterotypical Martial arts(Karate, Tkd, krav, etc.)

    • @SeanStrife
      @SeanStrife 7 лет назад +1

      Speaking as somebody who has a similar problem with a boring city offering nothing special (hell, I live in a tiny town that doesn't offer hardly anything); find any place where you can practice parkour. You can do it at playgrounds, in the woods, even in the comfort of your own home. Like OP said, parkour is about teaching you to IMPROVISE and move; what better way to improvise than to improvise a place to train at from the get go. Obviously, don't just go out on hard concrete and practice right off the bad, which is why I suggest a playground or the woods (especially a playground, because you have soft material you can land on.
      If you don't have a special place to offer training at for parkour, make your own place, watch some tutorials on RUclips, and try it for yourself. If you have to, get something soft like a mattress to practice landing on if that's what makes you feel comfortable.

    • @WiscoMTB37
      @WiscoMTB37 7 лет назад +2

      Free Think try local gymnastics gyms for open gyms on the weekend. trampoline parks are becoming super popular, that would be a good start for flips. if you want to do parkour then I would recommend these things. but if you just want to do it on the side. then outside might be you best bet. but flips should be done on a softer landing first. the people that hurt themselves alot are the people that don't care about risk and decide to do a trick they are not comfortable doing.

    hey shane. im personally a boxer. what are some tips so if i got into a street fight i can make it more of a boxing match and keep them from taking me to the ground. not so much how to stay off the ground but more how to avoid the takedown completely and make them not want to do it again. for example if someone kept throwing kicks to the head blocking the kicks with your elbows and make them not want to kick anymore. any ideas. basically is there any nice counters for a basic takedown while staying on your feet.

    what type of streching i should do to start doing high kicks ?

  • @vagabond4576
    @vagabond4576 7 лет назад

    It builds fast twitch muscles. Explosiveness akin to box jumps or getting that Vince Carter like vertical leap. In turn faster kicks and more muscle stamina. It also is a good cardio as well. Using muscles you don't know you had. I practiced these when I was young and always was limping the next day. Very embarrassing in school. But the muscles in my legs are now more dense and can take a lot of punishment with a lot of speed. I practice more effective type kicks now but without the fancy work I did in the past. My legs wouldn't be as dense and powerful or faster without the tricking I done as a kid.

    Gnt is still right but a better explanation of tricking I feel is that it is a sport like freerunning but instead of flipping off obstacles it's kicks flips and twists etc, just because it involves martial arts people think it's a contact sport but it's purely aesthetic, people don't learn tricking to ko someone people learn tricking because it's fun and looks cool

    • @justinmarshal3149
      @justinmarshal3149 6 лет назад

      This is my opinion of course, but I'd actually recommend going to learn Martial Arts separately first regardless of whether there's an MMA gym nearby. Hone in your fundamentals, take Karate, Traditional TaeKwonDo (preferably ITF), or Muay Thai classes for a while, then take Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes for awhile. Of course, make sure you choose studios that teach quality technique and they Spar at least light contact, but don't worry if the studios also teach Kata or stuff that doesn't directly apply to the ring. After a few years of training at minimum, you'll really hone in and develop your skills which will relate to the octagon. Then go to a MMA gym. This is a the slower way of doing it, but it will pay off IMMENSELY. You'll have skills that separate you from the typical wannabe.
