I think people see the right hand technique and forget a little bit about what they're actually hearing. This is nothing new. I'm also a little confused because in a clinic he basically insinuated that his technique was Superior to Gambale, then he plays lines that sound like it was ripped right off from Gambale. Even though more Neo Classical, i think George Bellas with his 2,3,4,5,and 6 string sweeping with chromatics easily holds up against this.
It's just a short improvised solo from a live show. I have seen a lot of guitar players in my life time, including Holdsworth and Shawn Lane, and Matteo gave the same levels of excitement. Check him out live, you'll enjoy it.
@@Truthinshredding1 I'm aware of all of them and have been for many many many many many years as well and there is no way this hits as hard as Shawn Lane style did. Because his style is basically impossible to duplicate that's why he's ripping off Gambale. Gambale was way younger than this guy and already had three or four records out published a book and was handpicked by Chick Corea. The guy is almost 30 and doesn't even have one record out as far as I'm aware of what does that tell you? Because anyone can play licks and practice hard but there's so much more to it. That's why in my opinion the future is in the New York jazz players like Mike Moreno, Pasquale Grasso, Gilad Henkselman etc. Just like Guthrie Govan in a couple years even with Rick beato kissing his ass no one will care anymore.
@@jasonyocom7649 Why are you ranking guitar players like fantasy football? I understand your criticism but you’re missing the point which is just to listen, enjoy, and learn from fellow musicians.
@@jasonyocom7649he released an album 7 months ago and it’s amazing. God forbid you do any actual looking or try to appreciate obvious generational talent.
IDK....I know he's amazing and an incredible guitar player. But I listen to stuff like this and it just seems to be him showing off his skills. Interesting as it may be, there's no grove here and although I hear a drummer in the background it seems to be playing another song. Where's the pocket? I shrug my shoulders and move on. I know he's better than this.
This is "Centrifugal Funk" levels of shreddyness! It certainly floats my boat
glad you checked it out
I miss Shawn and Allan so much 😢
Same here mate, same here.
Same here too man, cried soo hard in 2017 when grandmaster Holdsworth passed😢three days straight. It’s nice to know the torch is in good hands;)
Not a single wrong note/mistake.
🔥 🔥 🔥
glad you checked it out
I would love to see Matteo, Guthrie Govan, and Buckethead do a tour together. My head would explode but I would enjoy every second of it.
I was Sooooo loving those runs, totally reminded me of Frank Gambale! Damn, he’s on another level and so musical 🔥
I was just going to say, I wanna see Frank Gambale battle Mancusso, trading 8s and 16s haha
glad you liked it
He wins.
glad you checked it out
I had to check if my speed-setting is at 1.25x
glad you checked it out
