+Al Lemieux - the Dynamic symbol functionality isn't meant to work in conjunction with the Symbol Sprayer. You can edit the original symbol as a dynamic symbol, but you can't access the symbol instances in the symbol set.
If I click on a Symbol that has a color (green) It shows the color white in the selection and changing it to red, doesn't do anything. I can only edit the color if I break the Link. WTF
This is a life saving little feature. I knew that there was instancing, but the dynamic part is pretty neat. Thank you.
Woo-hoo! A proper explanation of a cool feature. 𝓣𝒽𝒶𝓃𝓀 𝓎ℴ𝓊❗️ All continue to hail Brian Wood while I'm gone editing my dynamic symbols now.
thanks for the explanation, sir. but I have a question. how if dynamic symbol used in 2 different files? can it be used?
Great tutorial! You jumped right into the topic and it was concise.
Wow, that's really cool! Can't you vary the color of symbols with Symbol Sprayer tool though?

is there a way to put symbols right where you want them. i hate the sprayer tool. its stupid.
Just drag them from the symbol panel. Unless you want thousands, then the sprayer is your friend.
It's possible change only text of a dynamic symbol?
yes one can edit the text in dynamic symbol but if you ll change the text then it will be changed on its instance too.
I don't think it works like that. I am trying to edit text without updating all symbols, but it doesn't work.
This is from the classroom in a book series.
great thanks
