Such a nice technique, Debbie, and the results are gorgeous with the purple, orange and gold impressed with your nice "grubby" lace. Very thorough and enjoyable tutorial; you are a such a wonderful teacher, very warm, friendly and encouraging. Thanks so much!
Love love love this video. Have not ever done any veneers as yet but going to try some this weekend. Thank you for sharing. Going in to watch the other 3 now.
Thanks Ludmila, there's just so many variations isn't there? I don't think I've seen the hidden magic actually so best go google!! I'm sure I have just don't remember.
So adore your beautiful work just as do I your commentary, Debbie - always such fun. Thanks again for sharing with all of us. You’re really the bomb!🙌 Best wish’s
oh how beautiful Nuna, I can't thank you enough for such a gorgeous comment. I just wish I had the time to share more. I do have quite a bit of information on my website (blog posts) also together with all my free tutorials. It's under my name debbiecrothers.com xxxx
Debbie, this was wonderful! I am going to do this. I will search my stash for something that will work. I love the gold leaf in it! I also bought your bead class on Craft EDu. I loved it, I just need to get the Kato liquid clay, I have Sculpy LC, I don't have time for it today, but, boy, you blew up my mind!!! Thanks!
Hey Elli, thanks for your comment on the bead, so glad you like it. There will be a tutorial on them eventually - just have to get the Swellegant ones done first. Many thanks again.
Debbie, I am simply enthralled with your videos! I can't wait for my beginner's supplies to get to me from various places. You mentioned a couple of times in this video how the scrapping can be used to make beads. Would it be possible for you to show us how that's done in a future video? Also, as a beginner, do you think I can start on this path without having a pasta machine (I have purchased an acrylic roller that is somewhere in transit)? Thank you again for your wonderful videos and awesome ideas!
Hi Betsi, so good to hear from you again and can't thank you enough for your lovely comment. Yes I did mention how to create beads using the left overs of your chalks and you'll find it in one of my free tutorials. I'm linking my website here and you'll find the whole range of free tutorials here. www.debbiecrothers.com/ You can absolutely get by without a pasta machine in the beginning but to be honest I bet you'll end up wanting one sooner rather than later. Many people use the "card system" where you simply place the same number of cards either side of your clay and roll until your clay is the thickness of the cards. You can buy depth guides but they can be expensive and I think a little unnecessary (especially if cashflow is limited). Anyway hope this helps...let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. xx
DEBBIE I THINK YOUR AUSTRALIAN........ DIFFERENT.😃 YOU KNOW, I LOVE UR WORK, BUT I LOVE YOUR NATURAL HAPPY VOICE AND ATTITUDE SO MUCH. CAMILLE VICTORIA AUSTRALIA
Hey Annette, there will definitely be a tutorial on the beads...eventually. I can't do it until after the classes in Brisbane and Melbourne as I'll be teaching the techniques there but after that it's on my to-do list.
someone mentioned that you have a tutorial on how to cure liquid kato to a great shine, which I see in your bead :) i don't see it - is it a paid tutorial somewhere? thank you!
hey Sally, I'm so sorry I haven't seen your message before now. I do have a tutorial out on curing kato liquid clay - it's soooooo amazing to use that stuff. I'll pop a link here for you www.debbiecrothers.com/product/curing-kato-liquid-clay-and-so-much-more-with-debbie-crothers
oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for the delay in getting back to you on your question. I completely missed this message. I've not tried blackboard chalks to be honest but I have a feeling they possibly wouldn't work. Someone who has tried might be able to help us out. Sorry I can't tell you more.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing this cool way of texturing clay. What type of liquid clay did you use to coat the tube bead. the finish is beautiful. I never thought to coat a piece with liquid clay. I'm looking for something that doesn't end up a sticky mess. Thank you again!
Bonnie I'm so sorry for the delay in replying to you. I use Kato Liquid Clay for all my finishes and I use an industrial heat gun to cure. I do have a tutorial on my website if you're interested. Thanks for your lovely comment Bonnie.
so sorry for the delay in getting back to you Charlene. I do have a tutorial on my website about curing Kato Liquid Clay. www.debbiecrothers.com/product/curing-kato-liquid-clay-and-so-much-more-with-debbie-crothers thanks so much for asking
Debbie Crothers have you a video on how you put on the liquid clay as I've never seen it used that way..thank you love your videos and can't wait to try your technique xx
'Multics fake paper' is what CC interpreted the paper you are working on. Can't find anything close to that name. Could you please spell what the paper is? Enjoying your videos. Patricia Roberts Thompson suggested viewers to watch. Glad she did. Do you use the imitation gold leaf or the real deal? Am wondering if the imitation leaf gets dull over time. Thank you for a fun video.
Hey Linnea, so sorry for the late reply - have just found all these messages. The paper is Multix-bake paper and is just like baking paper. I use the imitation gold leaf too and find that it works great. I have noticed the imitation leaf dulls on raw clay over time so I just make sure I use it up before it starts to change. So glad you enjoyed the video and I must remember to thank Patricia when I chat with her next. xx
Hi Debbie the penny just dropped (so to speak ) who you are. I would like to know if you have a website where I can get your tutorials other than craftedu? I have purchased from there before but I don't really like how it is done, not enough hands on viewing if you know what I mean. Also all the websites and you tube etc that I have come across are usually from the US, and they go on about Varathane for a gloss finish. Is it the same as Cabots polyurethane here in Australia? Sorry this is so long winded. Would love it if you could help?
Hey Deb, great to hear from you honey. I don't have a website where I sell tutorials - it's just another thing to try and keep up with hey and I spend way too long on here anyway. I do have a video tutorial coming out soon but can't quite give details on that yet. You can go on my mailist list for when I can if you like - all I need is your email address. As far as varnish goes I tend to stick with good old liquid clay - my go to sealer! I don't bother with all that floor stuff and waxy stuff - that's just my preference though. Hope I've been able to help - slightly!! :)
