Here in Brazil we make this paper to, only some artisans, we use the banana trunk, crown of pineapple( the same process of banana trunk) and some special parts of amazonic trees. Love your video 😉
The Gourmet Paper Maker by Ellariane Lockie (2001) recommends using Washing Soda "soda ash" (Sodium Carbonate). However, the cooking should still be done outdoors with a ventilation mask, and fumes should not be inhaled. Also, stainless steal pots are recommended as other materials may react with Carbonate and produce a gas.
OMG 😨 I have a lot of banana trees in my property here and i didn't know i could make paper with them! And it is SO easy to do! I will try it but.. without the chemical thingy 'cos... I plan using these papers as bags for food like rice, beans, bread and so on. thank u young lady!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 👍😉
That was amazing to watch. I have 2 banana trees in my yard, when I cut the next one I will try and make some paper. I really enjoyed your video, you did a great job.
SuperLetout NaOH is a corrosive bade which I used it to break down banana tissues in to little pieces and after that I did wash off the tissues with water so it is totally safe to wrap your food with banana tree paper :)
When i was looking information abouth cellulase raw materials i found your video. Nice video. A d thanks for sharing it to us!. Anyway, id like to ask few things bout the banana paper. Is it water resistant? Is it harder to be teared compared to the regular paper? Is it flexible yet sturdy?
Fathi Rizki First, yes it is water resistant. Second, no it’s just like regular paper it can be easily torn, yes it is flexible but the flexibility is up to how thin and thick you made it. Btw thank you for asking :)
HiThanks for making a wonderful video. I am just wondering if it is possible to make toilet paper from banana tree.Could you please share your experience or any links that can give more details about pulp making from banana tree.
Yes it is possible. But for this video you can improvise it by blending banana tree tissues longer so it wouldn't be too rough to use. Anyways, thank you for watching and subscribing my video!!
Hello any alternatives for Sodium Hydroxide?? I need your suggestion asap please. its hard to find a sodium hydroxide here in my place. please answer. Thanks
Just try eating its fruits and it will even solve diarhea.. Why eat the pulp if God give us its fruit. How delicious the banana fruit. Anyways, i thank the young lady for this video.
We I must use Sodium Hydroxide because pieces of banana trees are very thick and I want to make it thinner. It is possible to use banana leaves it is way easier too ehehe
can u do one video with the banana leaves if possible please. It will be very helpful to understand how to utilize those leaves as currently we are using to make manure only.
Well Sodium Hydroxide helped just only burning the banana tissues. But to make the paper thin, you need to spread out those banana's tissues all over the net.
Hi! I tried contacting you on facebook but for some reason, it says that you werent available so I couldn't send you a message. May I ask some questions about this? Thank you! ^_^
