  • I bought this 2007 KTM 250 SX in pieces from a guy on Facebook marketplace for $700. The bike had blown up and he had torn the engine completely apart, only to find that it was above his head to put it back together. After tracking down and ordering a lot of parts that he managed to lose and then giving the rest of the bike a cleaning and refresh, this old girl came back to life nicely.

MILLENNIUM technologies does a amazing job on engine work. The best in my book. Good choice on the cylinder repair with them.

Nice build! I have an 07 250 XCW-F that I'm I am working . Going from front to back. Since I vapor blast I'll be shining up parts and removing some casting marks too. I'll also be zinc plating some hardware. The motor will be a full on build and carb is already put together

That is awesome! Zinc plating sounds awesome, I generally just get new bolt kits but more power to you!

Wow, this is so motivating!! I know almost nothing, but i just bought an 07 and want to do this so bad!! I have a question tho, how long did it take you to fully rebuild it? And was it overly expensive? Was there any part that you remember that gave you trouble? Awesome video, i hope i can try to rebuild mine someday!

I'm about to rebuild my 2002 ktm 250exc. Great video to help follow along some, I was wondering what you used to polish the exhaust so much? That came out awesome!!

Good luck! I used an aluminum polish from the hardware store after a good thorough degreasing. Although the header isn't aluminum it still shines it up nicely. For the silencer the same thing, and if you have a buffer wheel check out Pryme MX cleaning wheels. They're amazing.

I generally look on eBay, or often you can find somewhere to buy a PDF and then have it printed if you prefer a paper copy!

He doesn’t have to when he cleans all the functioning parts on the bike still. Doesn’t need to spend thousands on Gucci parts

ima be honest you really fucked the look of the engine by not changing or restoring the clutch cover and the other cover
