I downloaded it and enjoyed it mainly cause I live being a NINJA TURTLE but it was fun even with other characters. Like you I found opponents hard to find and now it’s impossible again cross play is a must to keep it going. Hope they listen you your ideas and we can make it work
Glad to hear you liked the game too! It has great potential for sure but as things look now, it might be a sequel that's needed to make the franchise successful.
I didn't really pay too much attention to the game at first because I thought it was being over hyped with people calling it "The Smash Killer" (which is behavior that even the developers do not condone) but I bought it on Switch back in April because I was starting to get curious about it, and it was on sale for only 15 US dollars at the time, which is a deal you can't beat. I felt pretty meh about the game at first, but I became a lot more invested in it after they added Jenny since I'm a big fan of My Life as a Teenage Robot, and I think it deserved more respect. So seeing them put her in the game and seeing how much love was put into doing so, paying homage to such an underrated classic just felt so special to me. And now that they added voice acting, the game feels way more lively and it's hard to imagine the game without it now. Even if I think they're pulling off a redemption arc to their fans for adding voice acting, items, to give the game a better appeal, and Hugh Neutron to satisfy all of the memes, I'm not sure if interest in this game outside of who already played it will ever spike again.
Sadly, I'm not too optimistic about the games future either. It was nice to hear your personal story about the game though, I never checked out My Life As a Teenage Robot but I'll make sure to do it when I can!
I was considering picking up this game when it was new but for its price I wasn’t exactly sure if it was a good investment, but maybe it’s a good investment now, I’m still not exactly sure though. It definitely looks interesting due to the amount of characters found within.
I don't know if you had the opportunity to pick the game up when it was on PS Plus, if so it's worth trying for sure. I would however definitely double check that there are still players around on the platform of your choice before buying the game if you have any plans on going online.

Yes, it definitely is. Will be interesting to see if the game can recover but we can always keep our hopes up for a more successful sequel.
