Tier explanation:
Tier names refer to typical non-, lead and main dancers from 2nd/3rd gen. “Average” doesn’t refer to the current average, but to the typical 3rd gen idol without dance position. Therefore in some new groups everyone is on a “lead dancer” level.
Below Average/BA: struggles with most of the criteria, lacking foundation, has difficulty following choreography (rare in 4th/5th gen)
Average/A: can follow choreography and has some foundations but also notable weaknesses and no outstanding strengths (most 2nd/3rd gen idols without dance position)
Lead Dancer/LD: decent foundations, some standout strengths and weaknesses OR overall well-rounded without standout skills (many 2nd/3rd gen lead dancers)
low MD: in between LD and MD
Main Dancer/MD: typical 2nd/3rd gen main dancer: strong foundations, has some actually outstanding skills/field of expertise, but still noticeable issues in some parts of the criteria OR very standard and well-rounded without standout skills/weaknesses

Its finally out!!! Thank you so much for putting all of this together, and for including underrated groups to your ranking. I'm so happy to see Harry June 🔛🔝 of the list. And also Jaemin of NTX.
For those who don't know Rijune. I make a list of random facts about Han Harry June of DKB.
•Harry June is a 04 liner.
•He started dancing around 2015 and more seriously around 2018 based on his pre-debut videos.
•He joined and win some dance competitions with his group "unknown family" at the age of 14 years old.
•He entered Hanlim practical dance department with highest admission scores.
•He's one of the youngest participants in the prequel show of smf "be mbitious" at age of 18.
•His audition video was 2nd place in the ranking out of 400+ dancers who audition in the show.
• He was complimented by a lot of professional dancer in the show such as 5000, and Lip j.
•He was in the top 20 in the show.
•He had a Collab dance class with Bada Lee at the Just jerk academy.
•He participated in the mega crew mission of Mbitious crew at SMF.
•He was also contacted by Bada Lee to participate in the mega crew mission of team Bebe at swf2 but he can't due to conflicting schedule.
• He is really passionate in performing, especially in dancing.
• He is one of the main choreographer in most of DKB choreographies.
• He has a lot of other solo choreographies too.
• He is active dancing on dance studio such as feedback dance studio, playtheurban, and sometimes at ygx and just jerk academy.
•He is friends with a lot of dancers like chilllit.
•He recently held a dance class at Mid dance studio with Ahob (member of we dem boyz and his crew member before in the "unknown family")
•And even he already is a great dancer, he keeps exploring and improving.

Jaemin of NTX is also one of my favourites. He is also very passionate in dancing since he also wants to be a dance professor in the future after his idol life. Ntx overall is very talented group, they are great in dancing, in performing live and also in producing songs. I hope people will give them a chance.

Treat Leeknow as main dancer jype.
He is clearly the best dancer and his skills deserve to be highlighted.
Leeknow is honestly underrated as a dancer, the way hes only one of those few 4th gen pips who uses groove.
People say hes not a flashy kind of dancer when thats not true...he only holds back himself but when he goes all out he actually outshines his members as his movements were looking more free, big, and strong.
Underrated? He’s really not. He’s the fourth most popular fourth gen idol and the top three are the rest of skz

lee know honestly has a strong foundation with his basics i couldnt see any weaknesses in his skills, all he needs is to go full out sometimes bc i know he holds back in dancing for skz to all be able to stand out. thats the dance leader in him, but i cant wait once we get more lee know dance material especially since he is a professional dancer

i honestly hate it when idols like lino and jhope hold back for "the sake of the group" because you can tell that hyunjin and jimin don't hold back and have the opposite mindset, but also i think it's the right mindset to have, everyone should go all out, that's how idols like kai and taemin have the recognition that they deserve, no one should have to dim their light in order for others to shine, everyone should find a way to shine differently and a group member dancing better than you shouldn't be a reason for you not to stand out.
He just need to be not pushed back by the company. That’s it. They just hate him

When you said you’d be making this I predicted Lee Know would be in the top 5 - I’m happy I was right but aside from that (because I mainly mean that as in I’m glad when his talent is recognized) I really appreciated your comments. I agree that he holds back a lot and I really want to see him go all out.
I remember when I watched the SKZ Golden Disc Awards performance I was so happy because Lee Know was really giving it his all during their last song, right before the final chorus the camera showed his fierce expression like he was about to go all out - and then it zoomed out so far that you couldn’t even see him 😭 I was so disappointed.
I look forward to his future growth.
I don’t keep up with a lot of boy groups but when I have time I’ll watch the full thing because it’s very informative.

43:50 Here for the Lee Know appreciation because I’ve seen a lot of comments talking bad about him because of “poor” stage presence. His weight shifts and overall muscle control are incredible and seem to be only achievable because of his experience and immense strength (man’s a workout junkie). To those interested, itorook has a video dedicated to that. ❤
The poor stage presence was sadly invented by akgaes of other members to say that that's why he didnt have dance breaks or that he didnt deserves them. But if you see concert clips, he Is literally #1 in stage presence.

I knew lee know was going to be top 5. I hear ppl say this and that about his dancing but for someone like lee know, its mainly due to lack of opportunities. I'm so happy ppl are recognising his skills, mostly because we got see him showcasing his skills during kingdom and during maniac tour. I remembered my tl being full of him going viral for his dancing. Thank you so much for the video. I appreciate all of them so much.
I've been waiting for this video since forever and it didn't disappoint! It was refreshing to see your take on Lee Know, he's arguably one of the best dancers of his generation and I need jype to give him more opportunities to showcase his skills, he's full of surprises and definitely has a lot more to show and offer !!

If Harry June was given the opportunity to be on SMF, people will get obsessed with his dance style. His style is so unique that you can spot him even from a distance. He really deserves his ranking.
I wish kpop fans would check him out, and also DKB, and other underrated groups such as ntx, mcnd, who truly deserves a spotlight.

True! I'm not even a fan of DKB, I simply knew them from Peak Time. But Harry June really is a great dancer
The first clip "Get Lit" Lee Know Fancam yeah Actually His hand was injured at that time. But he hid them by wearing hand band like black cloth sth ? not to make fans worried about him and managed to dance as pro level. I can't describe how Lee Know was so fking hot in every Get Lit Stage. Especially THAT PART like seas wave hitting the seashore back and forth.

While Lee Know is 1 in my heart I understand your placement of him. This whole video is well researched, respectful, and pretty in depth for the amount of ranked dancers. It was fun to watch. Lee Know is my favorite 4th generation dancer
Believe me, LEEKNOW's dance talent is seriously overlooked due to his company's restrictions. They're severely limiting his opportunities for solo breaks and often keep him hidden during major events. But if we had more footage of his freestyling, he'd easily rank among the top 3 dancers, no exaggeration. As a professional dancer myself, I've carefully analyzed every aspect of his technique-his impeccable rhythm, seamless freestyling, precise popping, and dynamic footwork. He's truly exceptional on the dance floor.

Wow i loved the explanations tysm must have been a lot of work, I'm happy to see Lee Know in the top 5. I think he improved a lot this 2023 specially by the end of the year, i also wanna see him go all in but he doesn't get a lot of solo content so that might difficult to see honestly the best way for me to keep up with his improvement is through stage fancams
Choreographies for group performances must match groups ability so there will probably never a fancam that shows what he can do. I need a skz player and aotm so so so much. Even better if he would make a choreo for it with some of his choreographer friends.
@@von1glik when he's on tour I feel like he goes all in tho, but honestly yeah I'd love to see him in a aotm or idk trying some more challenging choreos, I think he enjoyed kingdom specially because was a real challenge

Lee know's back door fancam from weekly idol was the main reason I noticed the skills gap between him and the rest of the members, like him being actual dancer not an idol) His movement is so clean and detailed. I got mesmerised and started to watch more of his fancams
I'm really so so happy for your take on this. Leeknow is so underrated (also partly due to JYP not giving him chances), and his strengths are really in the details which get overlooked so much.

yesssss harry june and jaemin appreciation omg. i've been a fan of dkb since their debut and i fell in love with ntx and jaemin in particular from peak time, and when i tell you this list that included a bunch of lesser known groups and idols was soooo good to watch !! thank you for putting popularity aside and appreciating lesser known idols too
Harry June is a BEAST of a dancer. His passion for dancing is so clear. He's always learning new techniques, he never settles down and thinks he knows enough. He's humble, and he's always improving. He's attittude is what makes him the best among his peers in my opinion, as well. I really hope people would give DKB a chance and see how Harry and the other member are amazing artists who love and cherish their crafts.
i do have to say that i was thoroughly impressed by lee know's ranking. it's unfortunately uncommon that we see people truly look into his dancing abilities. as a dance leader, he holds himself back to dance as a group, not an individual. i think as much as it demonstrates how closely skz work together, i long to see more opportunities for him to shine a little more. you can see him pop off during live concerts, with the power he usually holds back. i hope we see him on studio choom's artist of the month!
some facts about lee know :
-teenage Lee know (the youngest in group) was in dance crew before known as Cupcakes together with bada lee, vata, redy shin, girin jang, jonggyu lee, kang riye ( they're kpop choreographers/teachers, some may know some of them from smf & swf)
-dancer for BTS (the youngest) for their japan tour/ some BTS mv/ stage performance in music shows)
-got accepted to college with his own choreography
-perform at WOD with his dance crew cupcakes, at such a young age
-holds the record as the fastest jype trainee to passed JYP's 40 basic dances (2 weeks) some idols take months/years. up to 1-2 years est. Lee know did that in just 2 weeks
to name a few.

First things first: HARRY JUNE 😭❤ honestly it didn’t matter to me what rank he got I just wanted to see someone who appreciated his passion and artistry. Every time he dances he looks like he has the time of his life and it gives me so so much joy.

LEE KNOW. THE DANCER YOU ARE. I'm so proud of Minho and how far he has come, as an artist, singer, dancer, lyricist, composer, producer, and model... I'm so glad his dancing capabilities were given justice in this thoroughly detailed analysis video! But we would love to see him experiment more with freestyle and get out of his comfort zone a little because he would absolutely dominate the industry. Though, he is already the most accurate definition of a perfect textbook dancer, showcasing all the qualities and high standards that a good dancer should have. He has incredible foundational skills, muscle control, precise angles and sharp lines, great healthy technique, kinetic intelligence, a vast array of dancing knowledge and the ability to switch styles effortlessly; from soft, sensational melodious grooves to powerful, hard-hitting pops and locks. My ultimate bias for a plethora of reasons, I love him so much!! KEEP GOING LEE KNOW YOU'RE DOING AMAZING SWEETIE!!!
I love how you used the WOLF performance as an example bc in that collaboration performance he (leeknow) received so much mockeries from ateez fans because they insist that their faves outdanced him when its very clear that he had the cleanest movements

Jaemin didn't plan to be an idol at first, he went to a dance school and it was his teacher who advised him to become a trainee to practice dancing in a different environment, but he liked it and became an idol.
Yunhyeok wants to become a khh idol in the future and currently devotes a lot of time to training krumping.
Seongwan is our wonderful maknae, he is not only good at dancing but also at rapping and producing music. He helped create ntx albums and released his mixtape on soundcloud.
I hope someone will give NTX some attention after watching this video. Even with a lack of money and staff, they can create great songs. They are a 100% self-produced group. They make songs (they also have soundcloud accounts where they post their solo songs etc), they also do some of the choreography for their shows. Recently, ntx were in Taipei, Yunhyeok and Jaemin create a choreography for Rawhyun's solo song. They also choreograph some songs from their album, for example the choreography for drop that was 100% created by the entire NTX ruclips.net/video/Rzmvqt6mOOI/видео.htmlsi=CNEO9U_vsHnAPpHy
They also always sing live and still practice a lot on their weak points.
In addition, all the content you can see on their social media is 100% created by them.
Rawhyun edits their videos on RUclips, Hojun translates most of them into English (he's not very good at English but he uses papago because intl fans were asking for subtitles) and some translators for Yunhyeok - he is the only member fluent in English.

They publish joint songs and songs by Changhun, Hyeongjin and Hojun on ntx soundcloud. Hyeongjin and Hojun recently added their first songs there, and Changhun has already made his second. The only members who haven't made their own solo songs yet are Eunho and Jaemin, but they probably will in the future ^^

We are a small fandom and due to the lack of content and good english subtitles (some sites also provide incorrect descriptions of members) it is difficult to understand everything. I'm sure krumping suits Yunhyeok, do you perhaps know if his official position is main dancer? In English profiles he doesn't have a dance position but in a Korean one both him and Jaemin are listed as main dancer
@@facts_in_fiction I don't know where this information comes from, because if they talk about Yunhyeok, it's mainly as the main vocal. Maybe someone wrote this based on the fact that he often talks about dancing on bubble or because he did a lot of tiktoks with Jaemin... If ntx talk about the leader of the dance, they mainly talk about Jaemin, Yunhyeok is called main vocal, but on the other hand they also call Hyeongjin like that. Even when it comes to choreographies, they do them together as a team, sometimes only Jaemin works on covers or like during Rawhyun's solo performance, he collaborates with Yunhyeok. Jaemin also had a solo performance during the concert, where he danced his own choreography, rest of the members performed their songs at their own solo performances. The only thing I have officially confirmed is that Rawhyun is the main rapper because he is also the director of rap for ntx. But he also sings a lot on his soundcloud, he mentioned that he likes it and wants to do more of it.
NTX doesn't really have any official position (often when they talk about positions, they change members, the only thing that remains the same is that Yunhyeok and Hyeongjin are the leaders and Rawhyun is the main rapper lol), I guess they don't want to limit themselves like that and even Rawhyun doesn't want to be seen as just a main rapper

Watching these is so interesting from a non dancers perspective because it's almost completely unpredictable 😂 but you do such a good job at explaining and at choosing clips, so when you say, theres problems with head alignment here or there's tension here I'm like oh yeah! I can actually see that.
I think it'd be interesting for you to eventually make a video where you put you MD+ people from every gen together and rank them. Cause I'm curious but do not have the knowledge to even attempt to guess where people like Dino/Hoshi/Jhope/Taemin/Kai would rank here. Instinctually i wanna guess that taemin is still n1 haha but I'd still want to see where all this famous dancers rank amongst each other ig.

As a dancer with experience of 12+ years i dont like when ppl call idols who overdances as best dancer like honey do u even know dance , dance is much techincal than singing just having an main dancer position in a famous grp doesnt make u a best dancer, I like ur analysis a lot I have some different opinions abt some idols but still great effort ❤
I'm glad that this is finally out but I have some questions:
- What is the meaning of being balanced?
-What does it mean to be refined?
-What does it mean to be technical?
-What does it mean to be consistent?
-What does it mean to be intricate?
-How does someone execute without excessive tension but still stay fuild, detailed on not rushed but not too loose?
-How can a boy group dancer(eg. Me)become better at commercial?
-How can I become better at analyzing and spotting the difference between people/members? it's subjective I know but it's not as easy as you make it seem. For example a lot of people make it seem like Hyunjin is a better dancer than Lee Know but after this analysis is see all the reasons why Lee Know is a "better" dancer but when I was trying to see the difference it was easy to spot it the way you saw it and it's even difficult when you have a biased or a programmed option due to the mass agreeing that one is "better" than the other (like most people agree that Hyunjin is the best in Stray Kids but it's Lee Know. I can make many examples Like NMIXX Jiwoo and Kyujin. My opinion on who is the best is still hard to choose and always switches (even though most of the time I am leaning more to Jiwoo) because my skill of analyzing and sometimes I can see who is better but not point out why on a technical/terminal stand point eg. Not having enough groove or stiff torso or excessive tension etc.

I would also love the channel owner’s input on what to do to improve alignment and execution! They have an incredible store of knowledge and it’s hard to find a lot of information for beginner adult dancers unless you’re lucky enough to live in an area with the right studios.

When I watch Lee Know dance I’m always so struck by it, and it tears me apart knowing he hardly gets to show himself off. He feels pretty staunchly that he needs to keep the group cohesive during dances, so he takes himself down a notch, but he gets very few opportunities to go and let loose on his own. Not in a tiktok video that he clearly isn’t into, but a solo performance, or a dance break, and it just never happens. I think if he had more solo performances or dance breaks he would be able to progress further.
I love him so much he’s such an inspiration for my own dancing 😭

As someone who is not a dancer and has followed this channel for a little while, I'm really thankful for your explanations and usage of clips!! You pulled some really good ones! "Good" as in helpful to illustrate your points and also as in they were fun to watch, both from idols I knew and ones I'm unfamiliar with!
As a personal aside, I hope Jang Kyungho (TO1) will return to the stage one day. He's such a captivating dancer to me. He's great during their own songs and his charisma also shines when doing covers. Of course it's okay if he doesn't want to re-debut though! I'm grateful there are already many videos. But if he wanted to re-debut, I'd gladly support haha :))

If he stayed as a backup dancer for bts at bighit company, there is no guarantee that they would have debuted him, but if there was a chance, he would probably be in txt and would be with Yeonjun and would go full out with him in their choreography, what a shame

lee know's biggest weakness is jyp, they never let him show his skills, his talents, barely getting screentime, lines, or moments where he can show his true dancing skills, they try their best in every possible way to hide him,
trust me the day jyp will start treating him as their main dancer the world will know how of a best & a good dancer he is, believe me lee know's talents specially his dance talent is overlooked because of his agency, they're severely limiting his opportunities for solo dance stages & often keep him hidden during big events, it's been ages waiting for opportunities for my baby to show the world what he have got, as a lee know stan I'm super proud of him, despite his agency trying it's best to hide him he still shines so brightly & when it comes to 4th gen’s best dancer he's always being mentioned, I'm so proud of him he really has everything to be the best dancer of his generation.. can't wait for MAIN DANCER LEE KNOW content, & thankyou so much for appreciating him I'm really happy that he managed to get in the top five (despite jyp's sabotage towards him) I'm so happy that everyone here is talking about him & how his agency is treating him so unfairly,
