We are going to santorini at the end of September, they have us staying in Akrotiri . Where do you feel is the best town to stay ? I feel Akrotiri may be far from every place
Hi Andrea, we stayed in Perissa which is also quite far from Fira or Oia, however there are regular buses taking you around. Same for Akrotiri. Check out the bus schedule at the link below. Hi Claire, Kamari seemed to be more lively, however we didn’t try the night life as we we’re pretty exhausted after adventuring all day. We visited in June right before the busy season.
Hi Roberta, you definitely don’t need a car. There are plenty of public buses and they are really cheap. The only drawback is that they don’t run past 1am. Our friends rented a car and immediately returned it because the island is small, hard to park, and there is way too much traffic during peak season. Hope this helps. Petru
