We’re Mennonite. Our beliefs are in fact Christian it’s just we feel that things such as the crusades are a immoral and improper way of spreading Christianity when we can be peaceful and walk with others rather than kill. The belief is that if we are truly Christian god wouldn’t want us to slaughter our kin his creations rather love thy neighbor rather than hate them regardless of if they follow the same belief system as us. It’s more complicated than I can write in a RUclips comment and if your interested I’d highly recommend looking around at different sources. The only place I can recommend would be a heritage museum in my local area as we live in a part of my state where you can travel to at least 3 Mennonite churches with in 20 minutes of your house if not each other. My church personally is what can be considered a less traditional version in that we’ve moved away from what can be considered a plain clothes community but still follow the same belief system. There are other changes but yeah the above is what really matters.
Also thank you for being respectful in your asking. I’ve seen some less than kind ways of voicing personal beliefs that are less than comfortable to respond to to say the least.
If the Christian community in general spent as much time getting angry about actual injustice as they do getting angry at perceived slights to themselves, the world would be a lot better.
If it were me I would have dissolved the council altogether and told them "You cut the hand of peace and friendship we offered, so now you will receive the sole of our boot. All hail the Imperium of Man."
I don't think these Hunans were interested in domination, just in demonstrating why these things are unacceptable. Just as War of the Worlds was written as a work of fiction to make people reconsider colonialism.
well don't forget the one race that didn't screw with them because they were dying and the humans helped them and begged from the beginning for peace, the other races didn't realize they were trying tell them to be peaceful or the humans would blow them up

Oh damn this is horrifically dark and amazing. I would kill to see this as a short film. DUST or someone should produce it. This is extremely well written.
There's a country song about a death of someone the night the light's went out in Georgia. A little rearranging and it could perfectly fit to accompany this story.
Isn't that a song about a woman killing a man, only for the police to arrest an innocent man at the scene and get him convicted of murder, causing him to be executed by the electric chair?
It would look exactly the same for many years actually, then periodically, likely several years apart, we'd see stars occasionally go pop. If an Alpha Centauri star went supernova we wouldn't even know about it for more than four years, and those are the closest stars. Some stars, in just the Milky Way are hundreds of thousands of light-years away. The likelihood any of those stars are close enough, relative to Earth, to actually be seen in even the same year are very slim. Ultimately, most people probably wouldn't even notice a couple dozen stars missing anyway, unless they were specifically well known ones.

What I dont get is the sheer absolute stupidity to keep being rude to humans when they have laid waste to nearly 2 dozen star systems. And at will can do so to ANY one who is rude. AND they have armed guards in the room ready to kill anyone at will. How does anyone not immediately surrender after the 3rd or 4th system is destroyed? The 2nd round of notifications should have been enough to make most people there vomit in horror at what just happened. A supernova in a system is indefinable levels of destruction.
Some new species somewhere just making good telescopes goes, wtf is going on in that part of the galaxy. Dozens of stars popped. Probably change their whole cosmology model

So well done.
