Standard Malay and Indonesian is closer to each other than Kelantanese is to either. She speaks Kelantanese (or Kelantan-Pattani lect) and it is actually too distant to Malay language that it can be considered its own language. It’s mutually unintelligible to most Malay speakers. It would’ve been easier for you to converse with her had she speaks in Standard Bahasa Melayu than in Kelantanese “dialect”. It’s as distant to Standard Malay as Baso Minang is to Malay. Linguistically close but mutually unintelligible.

Indonesian and Malay are the same language with different standards though (and different names). In formal form, they both pretty much are the same. When people from the two country meet, they tend to use their respective languages instead of English. There are many videos on youtube showing Malaysian politicians were using Malay when being interviewed by Indonesian journalist in Indonesian language. The same applies Indonesian interviewed by Malaysian in Malay.
Because Indonesian comes from Malay. Partly they are very similar and also use a lot of the same phrases. They are not entirely different like Chinese and French for example.
His Portuguese is mostly from Brazil. His accent is from Brazil, for sure, he uses a bit of PT-PT, but it's rare. He has another video where he speaks PT-BR and I could barely understand, his accent isn't great but it's normal for someone that speaks so many languages.

If you want to ace Turkic languages you should practice Turkish and Azerbaijany. Those will help you to understand other Turkic languages. There are around 20 main Turkic languages many of them mainly speaken in Russia.
Learn Romanian Wouter, you already know french, spanish, italian, russian, turkish. I bet you ll learn it in like 2 weeks, you will find it really easy to learn it as our language is a latin language with slavic influences and some turkish words
