VOG, this is the video I was waiting all these months! Good close-ups of the AmeraLabs Town Test: Antialias OFF and ON. You finally did it and it shows what to expect ❤️ The voxels are really sharp (which is good) but they are really big (which is bad) BUT that’s what good reviews do: showing it, so people can decide what matters most to them. Congratulations for the great photos! AND we are all happy that you are still here, in the world of the living 🤗
Glad to hear you're doing better vog ! Your channel has been so helpful on my journey. Was wondering if the settings for the craftsman was the same as siraya cast, thanks !
The place I am interested in AA is in flat surfaces, if you are printing something at a 45° angle unless you want to set your z layer height to your xy resolution, you will end up with uneven stair stepping, which can be very noticeable, I wonder how well AA addresses that particular issue. I have the original anucubic mono and except in photon workshop doesn't support AA (though you can check the boxes on lychee or chitubox). In any case welcome back, glad you didn't let your rotten bits win out over your good bits and you are back and healthy. Thank you for your amazing videos as always.
Glad you are well again, please take good care of yourself. Best wishes from across the pond. And thanks for the nice look at DLP print quality. The macro shots are excellent!
Nice! I think that the Craftsman bottle in your video is the regular one. The DLP one is labeled 'DLP Craftsman'. Also the UV wavelength is 365-405nm (355-410 for the regular one). Don't know if it makes a difference but just noticing.... 😅
Hi! Medical doctor here. How did you get the sepsis (port of entry, original infection)? Anyway, glad you survived that great ordeal! Surviving a sepsis is not an easy feat.
Wow, I just stumbled upon this channel. Very excited to explore your stuff. Have been sitting on this Ultra for months now and have been pretty intimidated by the whole affair and figuring out exactly what I need to do to start. Do you have a beginner setup video in your library? Something that takes from plugging in the machine for the first time to getting your first print? I really like your style of presentation and appreciate your willingness to share.
VOG to the rescue again! I've had nothing but print failures with the Craftsman resin on the D2 using fully supported STL models exported from Chitubox, all models that ran just fine on my Phrozen 8K. I'm seeing all sorts of delamination and broken supports with the Craftsman resin. Even their factory test print had many broken supports but it still managed to print pretty well. I will say that the stuff that does manage to print looks amazing. I'll give your settings a shot and see what happens. Thanks! - DTJ
@@vogman Hey Vog, with the black Craftsman resin I received from AnyCubic it seems to want a lot more exposure than the gray you tested. On my D2 30um slices are happy at 2.8 seconds and for 50um I'm at 3.2 seconds. I also swapped my plastic vat for an aluminum one that I could skin with some high quality nFEP and it was like night and day. No more failures and better looking prints. If I might ask where did you land on your anti alias, gray, and blur settings for the D2? I've been running through that optimization exercise all weekend. Thanks again!
Thanks a lot, very helpful videos on your channel..Got my Photon Ultra delivered last week. For me it seems I need a bit more Bottom Exposure (like 25 oder 30) for prints to form. Normal Exposure of 2 seems almost perfect ( on Phrozen test print).. Without your videos that would`ve been painful days of bad and failed prints. All thumbs up. And of course glad to hear you are feeling well again.. sepsis is no joke.. Friend nearly lost a leg due to an cat bite, which he left untreated for some days.
Sorry to here about that mate! Sepsis is not nice, but glad to see your doing better 👍 I had it almost two years ago now when an abscess burst from a bad tooth hospitalised for a week and and a sh*t load of antibiotics to boot!
I have also heard sepsis isn't fun, so no need to try that again I think! Perfectly timed video...I have a test running with a lower lift speed as I type this.
OMG matey hope your feeling better now. that is not a good thing. glad your back home. i still not got one yet. hence no videos. lol. great video matey. i have found there pre sliced files tend not to be the same as the default settings for the printer. this used to be the case with the demo model that came with the photon. not sure if the demo models for the ultra are pre sliced. ?
I was just wondering about this printer. I was looking to see if they were on sale yet or if the Kickstarter production phase hadn't finished yet. Wasn't able to find it listed on AnyCubic's website. Did a bit more poking around and found that it was sold out on their website. I hope they make some more of these things, I'd love to get my hands on one.
Quick question for you. Using the Anycubic resin, how is the odor while printing? Is this something I can do in my office or do I need to build some sort of ventilation hood for it?
I just used the default settings. I found I had a failed print when I sliced with Lychee as opposed to Photon Workshop, which I’m seeing other people say was their issue too. So weird! Guess I’ll do supports in Lychee and final slices in PW
I also found that Lychee didn't work directly and had to work around and use Photon Workshop as the final slicer. Using Siraya Tech Fast grey resin I have been getting great results.
Hmmm the "DLP Craftsman Resin" is the resin that comes with the printer. "Craftsman Resin" is different. I found this out the hard way as after I finished my DLP resin bottle that came with the printer I had great success. I went to purchase more and mistakenly bought the the none DLP version and started getting constant print failures and much more noticeable layer lines. After tweaking the settings I started to get more reliable prints but the DLP resin still printed better
Hello. I have a problem with Anycubic Photon Ultra. I've only had the printer for a few days and I'm learning. So far, everything has gone smoothly, but recently when I print, each time the print detaches from the support and sticks to the fep filter. I use Anycubic Craftsman DLP resin. I tried to print already supported files from Artisan Guild and also add support myself.
Quick question, though it seems likely that the answer would be “No” or “Not very much”: Does antialiasing increase print times? And I very much agree with Meeko as far as being glad that you are doing better. I may have said so yesterday, but I commented on many videos on other YT channels.
You know what, I've no idea. I can't imagine is would slow anything down as it's just a slicer function, but that's just a guess. And thanks for taking an interest - it's much appreciated 😁
Glad you’re feeling better! I got mine last week and could only get it to work if I used their dlp craftsmen. So hopefully this is helpful! Did you notice you can’t adjust the UV power?
It's happy with Craftsman, but I've had success with other resins. You just need to take your time and dial them in ruclips.net/video/jOjB3Fr-0no/видео.html
Glad your feeling better. What version of Lychee slicer are you using? For some of us 3.6.601 is not working with the photon ultra at all. It will slice the file but the ultra will not read it at all.

In fact during the process of removing it from the printbed the testprint was completly destroyed and my build plate now has a lot of ugly scratches, sigh. Any Ideo on which parameter one can play around to get the print from sticking not to the bed like concrete?
Hi hope you can help I have visible layer line on prints I'm using craftsman resin and your basic settings I change exposure time to Mach my condition I do not know what to do
Do you have ultra settings with resin x-One bluecast? I have problems with this resin, i haven’t been able to print anything. I need a good resin for casting. Help! 😩
Not sure if anyone can help, I've recently received my Photon Ultra as my first 3d printer and I'm having issues with the quality. Namely, the final ~25% of the build comes out highly glossy and lacking in detail as if the resin hasn't cured properly for the later layers, the beginning layers towards the raft are crisp and seem typical of what I should be seeing over the entire build. I'm using the resin supplied with the kickstarter, ensuring it has been well shaken, and have tried both the default settings and those suggested in this video but I still get the same issue. Possibly important to say but it appears irrelevant of size, for example I printed both a mounted figure and one on foot on the same print, and the mounted figure showed greater clarity further along the build even after the one on foot had since lost any fine detail. Could it be an exposure issue? In Australia so it is very hot and humid at the moment.
I got my ultra in the post with the dlp resin. Default settings using the software on the USB stick and all my prints have been perfect. So I don't know why so many people are having problems
Sure you can. Just export from any 3d editor to obj or stl and you're clear to go. But keep in mind the fact that 3d printers work only with actual geometry data - no shading, no smoothing, no displacement maps etc Only pure geometry.
you will need to export the model as a .stl file. Also make sure any modifiers you added are applied to the model. That includes any subdivision etc. Check the scale of the model also. You can adjust the scale percentage when exporting.
Ive never used any 3d printer ever. I have a Photon Ultra now and don't even know where to begin. The instructions stop after you try the TEST bottom. It doesn't tell you what to expect, how to clean, or how to proceed really at all. I don't even know the terminology, so a few of the videos I've seen are confusing. Please help!
Honestly, it's very rare any slicer reports an accurate print time. It's just an ESTIMATE. Slicers generally update periodically and make adjustments, which hopefully makes them more accurate. But for the most part, just think of it as a GUIDELINE and not a fact.
well single Z, as bad as usual, just print screen at 7:18 - paste in Paint and zoom on the left leg, thats lot of layers there, Anycubic just never listen to customer feedback

Other kind viewers have beat me to it, but yes. You simply need to save your design as an STL file in Blender. Then you can open it in a slicer 😁
@@P1x3lMagic Thanks a lot for this answer
@@vogman Lovely!
Have you tried printing on the Ultra at 10µm?
Already missed you.
Thanks buddy 😁
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Where to download slicer or share me download link . it help me lot
If you have an Anycubic printer, there's usually a copy of the Slicer on the USB stick 😁
i requisitioned a Anycubic printer and i struggled to make sons. I now use Eleego like my brother Guilliman and now have many sons.
I use only prozen resin.. Rarely i pull a failed print
Great video. However I have great doubts about this printer. This 'crispyness' would look awful after painting the models.
My slicer shows print time as 1hr 52 min but my printer displays 3.5 hrs !!! Please help
Honestly, it's very rare any slicer reports an accurate print time. It's just an ESTIMATE. Slicers generally update periodically and make adjustments, which hopefully makes them more accurate. But for the most part, just think of it as a GUIDELINE and not a fact.
@@vogman sir i understand that however my printer takes very long time to print ! Even a normal ring took 4 hrs to print
I hope you are ok now sir!
I'm getting better every day, thanks Hassan 😁
nice ! sepsis isn't a great holiday at all !
Too right 😁
well single Z, as bad as usual, just print screen at 7:18 - paste in Paint and zoom on the left leg, thats lot of layers there, Anycubic just never listen to customer feedback
I don't think that there's a discussion about the fact, that the antialized print was way better.
Yes... better when magnified. But in the hand, both look excellent 😁
@@vogman Yeah, I believe you, any chance you will have a Hitry Rocket 1 in the future? I am a bit hyped for that machine, have a great weekend.
Can't read the settings 😭😭😭😭😭
