I am curious if anyone has tried to make a DIY version of the bowflex all in one workout station using extruded aluminum for the frame. I think this might be an interesting project for you guys.

Well, I'll put it this way, if you already the very base
Foundation of the machine, call for your own book and you will see the unlimited uses of what you can get from your own book, but I wouldn't have any idea what you would use for the flexibility part of weight resistance, unless you already have that part, sir,
You need to research your own machine parts,

I watched this video a while back and then I did a cad drawing of a workstation and emailed it to your engineering dept, you know, the guys who have on their webpage "send us your drawings and we can work up a design for you". They emailed back said they didn't do that. All I wanted is a bill of materials that I would have purchased from 8020. Nope

Doesn't look like anyone actually built this workstation, they just rendered it. The forces on that joint at the base must be rather extreme. I'd imagine that this workstation would rock back and forth alarmingly. Wonder why the two posts at the back don't extend all the way to the base; that would greatly increase the rigidity.

This material is plenty rigid. I use it to build fixtures for welding bike frames as my side businesd. Their T slot profile material is extremely rigid when assembled and if you had any questions regarding design they have great customer support for custom designs. It saves me tons of money in machining costs and I can reuse parts or even better design one fixture to be modular and fit numerous applications. I also work in the aerospace industry and this material is being used more and more to create lean efficient work areas. All that being said they have CAD models of all there profiles and hardware that way you can design and see what your project will look like before you build it.

      These are the available connections:
Standard 45 degree supports, standard machining service for a custom support, and PN 14118 for the 40s. Here are helpful links:
