- Check out this classic all-beef Chili that's been cooked up in the States since the mid 1800's, and for good reason. It tastes real good, is simple to make, and its spicy heat will cure what ails you. This is an all meat Chili, Texas Country style.
This all meat "chili con carne" has Spanish and Mexican roots, but it took the Texas Range Cooks out on the cattle drives to make this style of Chili a legend.

you guys make things so simple to do but PACKED with flavor. So good!
for the most part you are right..! but not all ketchup is the same, my friend....! BTW Most winning BBQ teams use a well known brand of ketchup as the basis of their own sauces. They tweak it to make it their own special sauce. Thanks for your support. -BBQ Pit Boys
Damn, thought I was the only ketchup/mustard tard

This recipe is superb. My stepfather and I are Texas barbeque people and we frequently "compete" with each other on weekends. Never could beat him at chili, though...the brisket idea may put me ahead, ha.

Dude, I've made so much chili in my life. It's like second nature. Truly the best American food. I read abut the history of chili con carne. This video explains the Midwestern way to make chili, except with more spice.
Thanks Pit Boys. I've got a load of chilies that need using up, I got some good tips from this video.
hey devastaticon.... -these long hot summer days, star lit nights, and old-time memories make us good ol' boys hungry. Plate up up some barbecue, pass us a cold one, throw some wood on the fire, and damn....., turn up that pickin' music! -BBQ Pit Boys
I invited my new neighbour over after he asked me what I was cooking....he's a Texan working here in Australia & I wanted his opinion on how I did with this recipe....when I said it was a PB recipe he smiled & said "it'll be guuud" & he was spot on. Thanks again guys you're legends.

"Sticks to your ribs" ................Cold ass day, comfort food.......nice one Vivian......
I type in 'chili' and this is the FIRST thing that pops up. I think that says a lot about this recipe. Good job Pit Boys.
Ive never been so hungry watching someone else cook/eat, as i am right now. Great video.
Another awesome recipe from the BBQ boys.
Long live Texas, long live real cooking!
Greetings from Gothenburg, Sweden!
This was on the news this weekend!!! You guys are awesome!!!
Your recipes are great, the innovation which you put into the recipes and how to make it. Thank you very much for the great job you all do. By the way, I have not seen your colleagues in the video. I hope you all right. Greetings to all. Thank you again.
With us sending our electricity down to Texas we really need these videos.
Looks guuud! I lived in Texas and we used what was local as far as smokin' woods. A blend of mesquite and oak chips with some Hatch chiles and good ol ShinerBock to boot! Keep the videos comin'!
I have been watching a lot of your vids, and the one is even tastyer than the other Mann!!!... does it look good!! keep on making those tasty vids!! by the way if you talk,
the way you do, I am hungry allready!!!!!! Its very educational, thanks guys!
Still going back to this after years and years.
All I have to say is you made some AWESOME chili! BTW, your voice simply rocks...great baritone! Anyhow, the chili I made thanks to your video tasted even better than mom makes (only I didn't have any brisket available)! If you have a recipe on brisket, let me know!
Got this (at least my own variation) going as I type this. Something I've taken to doing is making crude patties and charring the ground chuck over the open fire before scrambling it in the iron pan. Adds a GREAT smoky flavor to the finished dish. Getting just cold enough here in Alabama to rock some damn good chili...can't wait.
you sound Stout! Love your voice, it alone makes me want to make some Texas chilli! Open up some Texas!
great videos ! and that chili looks SO good man. Keep the good work !
BBQ PIT BOYS are the MEN of BBQ.
Live in Texas and we do love some good chili. That brisket also is a nice addition. Along with some bacon would also be good. Yummy!!
Sir......... .you just made me so hungry that I am heading to the store to get these ingredients now. I am going to do this tomorrow. Thanks for the great video!
I have made this several times, it's my favorite. I smoked the brisket as he did beforehand. I also did what he did on another video, cut the onion in rings and then pre-cooked them on the grill before chopping up and adding to the pot, I smoked with them hickory in my Weber Smokey Mountain Smoker. Same with the jalapino peppers, smoked them first. Man, the best of the best of chili.
I make my own bbq sauce and can it, I need to get a camera and show how to do that.
now that's a friggin' masterpiece....... way to go
I can literally smell that meat on the grill thru my screen. What a recipe!! Yum.
Man - I definitely am hungry now! Your Texas Chili looks delicious!
I'll try that recipe!
Greeting from Berlin, Germany.
This is still the best chili con carne recipe on youtube.

cant go wrong with chili, chips, and cheese!!!! whooo hoooo...
Great Vid. Boys! I'll be beaten the cold wet texas winter with Some of that. I appreciate it.ITZ GUUD!
hey bladespawn420, it's an old carbon steel knife, about the only type of blade we use. Keeps a good edge, and is well balanced. The black iron and graniteware pans are a must if you get serious about cookin' on the fire.
7.00am in Melbourne, Australia......Damm, I want chilli for breakfast!!!
Wow!! This looks so good!! I will make this for sure!
I love you guys! Cheers from the UK. ;-)

sweet man, i grow my own habaneros and love chili and football,, gonna whip this up soon!!
Lol, I have made a lot of chili in my day, with beans, without, hotter than sin, mellow, with all sorts of wild game and beef but I have never put brown sugar and barbecue sauce in any of it thus far. Some habanero's would go good in there too.........Going to have to give this a try. I had chili last night with hamburger and leftover brisket..............very good. Thanks men.
its all about what you like man, you aint gotta have that much but as for him and his boys thats perfect. but it looks guuuuuooodddd!!!!!
hey poppatoe, modern day convenience for those who don't have any low and slow brisket within reach! When we do brisket we make a big batch this chili with the leftovers, and if there' some ground beef around or some "road kill", it all hits the pot! -BBQ Pit Boys
This is how it should be done. Thank you!
this is why i want to go to america! they dont fool around, they just get it all wacked in! FOOOOOOOODDDDDD, chilli is my favourite dish of all time alongside spaghetti bolognese, this looks unreal. drooling here

Oh wow, buffalo chili! If I could get some of that, I'd think I'd died and gone straight to chili heaven.
Damn! Loved that, can't wait to try it on my own, especially with those corn chips.

Now this looks good. I have to try it.
I always feel confident when he says "Its real easy to do..."
Love all your videos! Makes for some great eating. Just a quick question, but what kind of knife are you using? Seems like it cuts way better than my current knife. Thanks!
Love me some chili. Beans, stewed tomatoes, red onion (cooked the last few minutes left), with cut up chuck roast for the veggies 😋👌 Mmmmhmmm Goood!
Morning after all the chilli and beer the Pit Master rolls over to his wife, "you smell that? That smells baaad!!" Hahaha
I watch this every time b4 Im hungry so then i can cook up some delicious Chili!!!!!!!!
i just had supper and i still want a bowl of that
If you enjoyed this video you would probably like reading a cookbook published in 1974 entitled "Forty Years Behind The Lid" by Richard Bolt. Richard Bolt was a real chuck wagon cook. Mr. Bolt cooked meals for the cowboys on various large ranches in West Texas during his lifetime. His cookbook has the directions for real chuck wagon chow in "family size" portions with interesting anecdotes about his life "on the range. This book may be out of print, so if you find a copy, you better buy it!
made this chilli up like advised by far the best AAA
@mattybock ....lol...old as dirt, bock..! Guuud enough..! Thanks for stoppin' by...
Man that looks GOOD!!!!!
At 6:02: Cool Mustache.
Nice Recipe Vid as usual.
He uses an Old Hickory 10' Butcher knife. He mentioned it in another posting and I went and ordered it on eBay, it was very inexpensive and its one of the last knives made in America! I bought a few of them. They are huge. I gave them as gifts to my family.
been making Texas Chilli for 50+ years. I use chuck, and my chili is cooked for about 8 hours. I see that the chili champs in Terlingua only use ground beef. (Must be yankees).. I've never used ground beef, but your reciepe is interesting, I'll have to try it.
How old are you?
For whatever reason when Wick Fowler started the big chili stampede out in Terlingua, they used ground chuck. Most chili contests if there are any chunks of meat in the chili, then they won't get many if any points.
I've always used venison hamburger and sirloin or brisket cut up in my chili and I like it that way.
Thanks guys love recipe
that looked delicious! i wanted some sooo bad
Hey, that sounds good, lining the bowl with a tortilla. I'll be trying that, thanks for the idea.
