      @nicolebarber If I had to guess, they probably attend the Traditional Latin mass or an orthodox rite, which are both Catholic masses just different kinds than the Novus Ordo. People who attend these rites tend to hold more "traditional" adherence to church teaching aka a little stricter. This extends to modesty, frequency of "optional" devotions such as the Rosary, liturgy of the hours, stations of the cross, daily mass, etc. As well as just about everything else. It's not necessarily adifferent sect, just a different way of practicing the Faith, typically more devoutly. I tend to go to a Novus Ordo, although I prefer TLM, and I hold pretty traditional views and habits as opposed to my Catholic peers for context. Hope this helps!

    • @ElleMonzon
      @ElleMonzon 4 месяца назад +10

      It depends on community standards. It also depends on the slit location and length. There is a concept in Jewish law that the slits *regardless* draw attention, which is immodest, even if you’re wearing tights underneath. I’m in a more mixed/open community, so sometimes I might wear tights underneath, but only if it’s a side slit that I already partially closed. Slit above the knee is a big no no

    With the dresses that have slits the best way to kind of solve the problem is to cut panels of a non see-through lace design or a pattern and you can have it be more modest if you like sewing

    i’m genuinely curious, how do you feel about tight/form-fitting clothes? i don’t want to make larger assumptions - if it’s modest in the other ways that satisfy your needs (long skirt, high neckline, etc.) would that be okay? or would more form-fitting clothing still make you feel too exposed?

  • @yairehy

    as far as the slits go, might i offer the suggestion of finding
    slips , or having someone make you some that are the length you would prefer and having them in fun colors and patterns
    then it just adds a peek of something cute or colorful.

    are you able to wear thick and opaque black/grey/brown tights underneath to help cover and the slit not be a problem? im not apart of any religion that has modesty rules but i love layering clothes for outfits and finding new ways to wear pieces thats more comfortable and flattering for myself, and i love to learn about how others with different beliefs dress and why and how they see clothing in a different way ♥️ much love.
    also the jean romper would be super cute with a pop of color long sleeve underneath with tights and you could change the color top and stuff you wear with it for infinite outfit possibilities to go with the seasons!
