San Jose is definitely one of places to visit when I come over from London. It had caught my interest even more recently when a famous Indian/Hindu warrior's statue called Shivaji was stolen from Guadalupe River Park there and fortunately found a few days later .Now with this video I more interesting places I will see when i get over
Your family is so sweet. Nice to see u all enjoying each travel experience. I'm moving to Santa Cruz in July. San Jose will be my new airport city. This video taught me a lot. I've only hung out in San Jose twice for work conferences. I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of museums. And that pizza is going on my list 4 sure! 🎉
Ah San Jose, the Big Brother of Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. I got my first ticket in San Jose in 1959, They caught me riding my bicycle on the wrong side of the highway :) Thank you for all the good memories you produce.
Your kids keep getting cuter and cuter! Great video. I just visited the World Peace Rose Garden in Sacramento, and the roses were glorious, so I bet they're popping in San Jose now. Can't wait to check out the Egyptian Museum when I go in September.
Thank you for this video! My son just move to Sunnyvale and I’m sure he’d like to go and explore all surrounded areas with his wife and 3 month old baby. I’ll send him this video for places to go! 😊
I've lived in San Jose for many years now. Thanks for highlighting some of the fun spots around here! My kids really loved the discovery museum when they were little. Have you ever been to the Discovery children's museum in Vegas? My kids loved that one even more!! I bet your twins would enjoy it 🙂
Pops is a fun addition to your videos but having your lovely wife and beautiful twins is absolutely amazing also. Really appreciate the wide spectrum of adventure potpourri that you bring to both channels. Pizza looked tasty and our son Teddy likes to give me back food he doesn’t want in interesting ways as well.
Aw it’s nice seeing my city! I’ve never been to Falafel drive in, I’ll definitely need to check out! Right now through June, it’s perfect for the rose garden (if anyone is looking to go!)
I live your channel, not to get political but there are a lot of entities that try to undermine California as a whole but they never talk about the true beauty of California and all the mixed cultures that come along with it. You are do a great job showing the world the true California.
Living in sj I love santa teresa co park for hikes in breathtaking scenery and lexington lake los gatos for hiking and dog swims and your kiddos will love vasona Park in Los gatos as well as Christmas in the park in December
When I saw the video was about San Jose, the first thing I thought of was Falafel Drive In. Great food! I’m not surprised you didn’t include the Winchester House as it’s not the best place for young kids. But I know it’s super close to the restaurant.
I always look forward to you Sunday releases of trips. I’ve lived in So. cal. For 78 years and most of what you present I’ve never seem. Did you ever do one o about Mt Wilson?
New subscriber here but longtime viewer. This vlog is so informative! I usually just drive right by San Jose on my way to San Francisco. I had no idea there was so much to see! Next time we may have to stop and check out these places! 😎
Sorry you came at a bad time for the Rose Garden. I live 2 blocks away and it’s truly spectacular. Peak is ~May, but generally great April-September or later. Feel free to reach out for contact info if you ever want to check with me the current condition of it (or to send you in-bloom footage).
I think San Jose looks easier to get around and safer than current day San Francisco for a family. I would recommend the attractions in Toronto & Ottawa / Gatineau for family/ kid friendly museums, make sure to get the CityPass to save on time & money. I might have seen some of the same Egyptian artifacts in Chicago, Stockholm and Gatineau. If you visit Toronto in the summer you can save on parking & lodging by staying at the University dorms, its actually cheaper than camping.
I grew up here, it is really hard to think of it as a vacation destination! As kids we hung out at Stanford and Santa Clara Universities. Yes falafel, we ate there all the time!
Lol this is my hometown, I grew up thinking it's insanely boring (still do tbh) but it's cool to see someone else's perspective on it! And Falafel's Drive In is amazing
wow there... is that pineapple I see on pizza?! A little out of the city but Computer History Museum is worth a visit. Though I would say San Jose is more passing thru sort of visit type of city, or one you go to on business trip.
If you're into sports, you could catch a San Jose Giants (SF Giants single A affiliate club) game or the San Jose Sharks (NHL Hockey team) game..........
HeyJosh, can you take us to downtown San Francisco, they say it’s deteriorating and getting very dangerous, spent many times in S.F. But it’s been several years, would love to go back this year but the internet gives me doubts.
I was there in Oct and again in April. The safest places to stay are just outside and inside China Town and paying for a parking garage. Garage parking since Covid is costly about 60 per day but worth it for a garage with security as auto theft rose during Covid. Walking around China Town, Coit Tower is safe. Uber is a great idea for other parts of the city.
Another informative and fun video. "I need ice cream!" "I need more ice cream!" So cute...
When I see the kids I automatically start watching. You have a beautiful family. 🥰
I appreciate that!
I live in San Jose and learned a lot about the city. Thanks for coming! Cute kids!!

This was a gentle reminder that I need to take my kiddos back to the discovery museum
You nailed it. I am a proud San Jos-alien.

Highly recommend going to Bibo's for NY style pizza next time and Park Station Hashery across the street from the Egyptian museum.
Now I can hardly wait to go visit. Thank you. ❤😊🎉
Lucky kids! Awesome job guys❤

I’m loving this series, thanks! I just wish you gave an idea of cost of stuff. We’re going to be on a super budget.
Good idea, I will try and remember that for future videos!
And also Almaden Quick silver park for breathtaking view of san jose from the tippy top!

Salt & Straw across the street from Santa Row in the Valley Fair Mall is better ice cream. Thanks for doing one of San Jose 👍

Yea Falafels is so good! Winchester will be fun for them in like 8 years haha
@@californiathroughmylens most definitely! Even for adults it is overwhelming with all twists and turns
Very nice! I'd love to see you do the rest of the South Bay sometime. Your kids are adorable too.
I always look forward to you Sunday releases of trips. I’ve lived in So. cal. For 78 years and most of what you present I’ve never seem. Did you ever do one o about Mt Wilson?
Ohhh my gosh! Our entire state is so beautiful from top to bottom... this is so sad! You need some road trips! 😎
I haven't done one on Mt Wilson but I did hike it a long time ago. Tough hike, next time I will just drive haha

You're one of the privileged kids
I would love to check out those two universities next time!
What a nice city to spend a weekend. Great video, Josh! 🙌🏽
We had a great time, thanks for watching!
