Thanks so much--I also bought a used one in Sweden! I got it at Myrorna, the second hand store in Uppsala Sweden in 1980. I had stopped using it because it was sticking more each time and the oil is now rancid and sticky. I will try your method to get it back in shape. Same as another commenter, I have no ring, but I use a chunk of cork by the side of the stove and I slide it on, rotate and then slide it back. I thought of looking for a ring, but am considering an induction cook top where the ring would keep it from working I think. I can't wait to have those pretty, healthier (no nonstick coating to worry about eating) waffles! THANK YOU!
Thank you Claire for watching and commenting 👍 I was lucky to find the waffle pan complete with the ring, there are so many for sale in second hand and loppis stores, but most of them are missing the ring. Have a nice cleaning restoration 😉
It looks great but I think this would also take the black coating of my cast iron waffle maker which I don't want. Mine is only a little rusted from last year's storage and lack of use.
Hello Myrlz, I found it in a second hand store in Göteborg (Sweden). It's easy to find them without a ring underneath. Check also this link 😉👍 www.tradera.com/profile/items/1793850/tania87 sometimes we sell what we restore and soon we will put out a couple of this waffle pans
Wow that looks awesome. I just got a cast iron waffle maker and it could definitely use a good clean like this. I don't have most of the equipment though... Would a vinegar soak be enough for now? Also what's the use of the base ring? Mine did not come with one... :(
Thank you for watching 😉 If you don't use a grinding brush, you have to use a lot of elbow grease and a wool steel. Leave it to soak in the vinegar for few more days. The ring is used to turn the pan over the fire without lifting it completely, it is less effort. Have a nice restoration cleaning 👍
@@HobbyTimeRestoration Thanks for the recommendations! Yes I tried to turn it without the base, it's very difficult but I can do it... For the sake of the waffle I must try. 😅
Hello, as you can see on the video, after washed I dry it with the air compressor and the heat gun. Immediately after I started the seasoning by brushing the oil.
This is what I need to do to my cast iron pan, what an awesome transformation. The waffle look delicious
They were delicious 😂
Cast iron skillet are the best, very nice seasoning color
I think so too 😉👍

Thanks for the cork trick! I didn't get a ring either and turning it can be... annoying.
I love waffle 😋😋😋 and I love cast iron skillets
Very nice seasoning 👍
Thanks 😉

Non ho mai visto una padella simile, bello il modo in cui si può girare.
Il mio preferito è waffle, gelato alla vaniglia e fragole il top 🔝😋
La prossima volta ci metto il gelato 😋
