You know what they say, if you gotta fly, you gotta fly! I flew my Mini 3 Pro in even worse conditions in Malta, there were wind gusts of 75 km/h+ and the drone handled those atrocious winds like a champ. I was expecting the Mini 4 Pro to behave the same or even better and it seems that DJI didn't disappoint (except for the 120m limitation) Thank you for this video!
i love that it shows where home is. i often times lost lol. sometimes i shoot a property where there's a lot of pine trees. i lost visual sometimes. this should help. I wonder if DJI will update the aircraft firmware and RCN1 remote to have that feature.
we lost a mini 2 .. at 7000' elevation.. wind gust was strong above town.. but I was not able to tell since I was positioned in a ski town.. but as soon as I hit 150M.. the wind drained the battery and crashed the drone on a tree.. we now have the mini 4 pro and wind still scares me.
After 8 minutes flight your battery 45% empty. So after only 16min you have to Land with 10%. Only a quater of an hour is a huge problem compared with air 3 for example.
That's also a huge issue. For me I'd like a drone that doesn't irritate people when I fly, even at safe distances. The air3/air3s sounds like a lawnmowers.
DM Productions just came out with a video saying dji came out with a new firmware update that bypasses the 120m limitation. Also sport mode is good to getting all the shots you want to and from the next location of the next shot. Not sure why you say sport mode is not good. Sometimes one doesn't have much time left in terms of sunlight and sport mode comes in clutch.
Una de las dudas que tenía para comprar este dron es justamente la que aclaras en tu vídeo, muchas gracias amigo. Lo voy a comprar con la batería plus que le da un poco más de peso
6:25, you can just go into your controller settings and remove the high limitation. I'm using the RC-2 controller and i can customise the high limitation for my dji mini 4 pro to whatever it is that i want it to be. Obviously if i go over 120 i'll be breaking the law in certain countries, and the rc-2 controller has a flight data controller with all my flights going onto my account so it would be pretty easy to see if i broke the height limits but the point is, you absolutely can, and for DJI to say you can't is total BS haha
Wah ! How can such a little beast gives us such a stable image ? Wah for DJI miraculous stab ! Big GG for your courage in testing it in such windy conditions. Great images too. Left my beloved M3P for the M4P. Got it today. Batteries are charging !
This is incredible! I’ve seen so many comments saying to go for the air 3 if you want any hope of flying in strong wind… without backing that up with any evidence lol I think I’m going to pull the trigger on this and sell my air 2s
I was in the same predicament as you. I really like the Mini 4 Pro, but I love the 70mm lens on the Air 3. I bought the Air 3 last night and I’m currently looking out the window for the Amazon truck to show up. I also have the Air 2S and I will be selling it. I may end up with the Mini 4 Pro as well. They are both incredible drones. Can’t go wrong with either one.
Thanks for the video and that gave me more confidence to start my 1st flight in the windy environment . May I also ask a noob question ? Will staying in the car affects the drone control reception ? Thanks
Thanks for the practical test! One thing you mentioned the 120 meters. Is that going to change at any point? It sounds ridiculous. If you fly in a mountain, you'd be extremely constrained. Regulation is 120 above terrain, not take off point. Sounds like a deal breaker. :/
@@anhonestreviewer7015 It's probably 7 months too late to give you a reply, but for what it's worth I own the Mini 4 Pro in the United States and the 120 meter limitation is not an issue anymore. It *will* give you a warning depending on where you fly, but I can easily go higher than 120 meters almost anywhere as long as I have my "max height" limit turned all the way up in the drone's settings.
There's certainly some 'micro jitters' as you turn and fly against the wind but nothing too noticeable - expected given who small and light the drone is.
I observed one consistent weakness with the Mini 3 Pro that I don't expect to see noticeably improved on this newest Mini from DJI. I am referring to positional accuracy, within the spec DJI Provides. Most evident during autonomous flight modes such as Mastershots/Quickshots, the drone does not return to the starting point with accuracy; sometimes being off a meter or more. Also note that Precision Landing has never been available on the Mini 3/3 Pro. Wind is a contributing factor with light aircraft, and contributes to landing accuracy. I don't believe it is the only factor, however. Whatever the cause, DJI never addressed it on the Mini 3 series. I really want to see if we have improvement on this. Maybe you could test this against Mini 3 Pro. Do you still have one, or could you acquire one for test comparison?
Update: I am happy to report that we HAVE improved positional accuracy. We even got Precision Landing, and it works really well. I checked the specs, and sure enough, we have one stepped-up parameter, namely Hovering Accuracy Horizontal Hovering accuracy is down to ±0.1 m (with vision positioning) From Mini 3 Pro's ±0.3 m (with vision positioning) This is WHY or BECAUSE of Precision Landing - I'm not sure which, its strictly chicken and egg stuff. 🤔
I took my Mini 2 over a field when it was 36mph gusts, that was enough for me. I really like that the bottom left shows the angle/ roll of the drone in flight.
My M4P is classified as C1, therefore I can go up to 500m if my controller is connected to the internet, over my phone hotspot. I fly over near mountains, that option is also good to have it, when is needed.
The water surface suggests a lesser wind. Certainly at sea level. Obviously more at the flight altutude, due to "wind warning". Thanks for the demo, and other information. It all assist with decission making for buying/or not this latest advance. Seems to be a lot of reasons to upgrade from Mini 2.
I'm in Europe (European Union) with my Mini 4 Pro and DJI removed my 120m ceiling for 500m no problems. Applied, they sent me the stickers, I put the on, upload a photo and it's done.
My mini 4 pro in in route to be delivered tomorrow or Thursday. I live at 4,000' on the US/CA border so wind is always around, but no, I'll not be flying in 55kph winds. : P
This 120m rule is not new. On the basic operations certificate for flying drones in Canada 122m or 400ft is the maximum height allowed for drones under the basic certification height limit. This has always been there and was always the limit. Going above that was always illegal
Not quite correct. If you are in the "shade" of a building or mountain you are legally allowed to fly above the designated height constraint. But you must not exceed it, if there is no "shade", other than with specific permission. The reason is to ensure air traffic separation
there's no way this is 55kmh... at 30kmh you start to see white caps on the water (small waves cresting). i'm a kitesurfer so im super interested in these high wind tests, but you only see a few white caps on the water when you turn out to sea. id guess this was closer 35kmh
i work on a boat an im in the sea all my life, Now way this is 55kph by the looks of the waves in the video, this is more like 29-38kph or wind force 5
I never said you did and thank you for this great video, I'm one step from buying this drone, just saying you can't trust a UAV forecast APP . The APP takes its data online and predicts the weather. The best test you can do is to get a hand held anemometer and fly on a very very windy day.
Thank you so much for posting this video. This 120m-limitation is simply nowhere in the "Specifications" page on the official website. I have a few questions (if you or any other user can answer): 1. Is this common to all Minis (1, 2, 3)? 2. Can it be extended to the usual 500m in the US version (or other versions) of the Mini 4 Pro? 3. Is this 120m-limitation also in the regular version? Mavic 3, Mavic 3 Pro, Mavic 3 Classic? 4. Where do I see the altitude limitation for each drone? I can't find this info on the official website. How come the trees aren't blowing around for 34 mph winds
Winds vary at different altitudes. Very well may be 55mph on the ground but at that height, it could be, and appears to be, much lower.
Exactly 💯. Sometimes the wind is very noticeable at low altitudes but negligible at higher altitudes.
Thank you. This gives me confidence to buy mini 4 pro.
I was worried about how small & lite it was
How was the buy?
@Nedvio i bought it!! Busy from last month from shifting, etc. Will fly this weekend.
Thanks for your comment bro
Mine arrives tomorrow! I can't wait!
I believe DJI has now removed the ceiling for EU and elsewhere for certain uses, or in general. You'll need to look into that.
Does the wind not make this dji drone tilt? My avata 2 at high wind takes tilted shots and videos
Avata2 doesn't have 3-axis gimbal stabilisation like the Mini4 Pro, that's why

Sorry the 55 mph should have read 55 kph…
what is the range?
why no trees are moving despite of the claimed wind speed?
If you go into the jobber settings and select code 4, it will increase the stability

When yu did the flying against the wind, you ought to have put it into S mode.

strong winds damaged my air2 had to send it for repairs
you should add more vigniette and make it even darker, i can still almost see something!
