As a lego monkie kid LOVER, I'm still disappointed with the animation change cause not gonna lie it looks like a downgrade from what Flying Bark Studios did and is leaving which sucks so bad but am I going to watch it...yes cause I still love the show even though I did watch Lego Monkie Kid for the animation first and foremost but should we harass the animators..HELL NO no one should be harassed about it.
Had to watch the actual trailer before watching this but after seeing it it wasn't awful, yes a bit motion tweeny but not unwatchable. The same writing team will be there giving it their all just like the voice actors. As an animation fan and animator I'm still excited for the next season. While yes I'd prefer Flyingbark to still be working on the series I don't think they'll fumble the story. In conclusion some folks need to chill and yes it's ok to be upset that the amazing studio that brought this series to next level may not be producing it anymore but don't say it's ruined before giving it a chance.❤ Edited to say love your hair twin.

I will be honest I adore lmk but this is kinda a One Punch Man Season 2 situation for me. Like I absolutely don’t think the animators should be getting harassed and it doesn’t ruin the next season for me but I do the animation as a large part of the lmk identity and I do believe the stiff animation (seen in the trailer) will hinder my enjoyment because of it. Still looking forward to it but it’s a bummer for me
I am a huge fan of Monkie Kid, and I can't lie I am disappointed in the animation. I am studying animation in school and I had noticed how the quality of the colors is not as dramatic as Flying Bark Production makes them, the perspective in some shots is too generic, their faces are too round and etc. I know a lot of people don't find a lot of change in the animation and are just excited to get a season 5. Do not get me wrong, I am also very excited, but because I really care about how the animation works, I am afraid I will not enjoy it because I will be focusing on how the artstyle is different ,I know I am very picky :"). I am very glad that the writers and VAs are the same. LIKE I am very happy about that because I also take changing VAs and writers pretty roughly (it was tough for me to get used to Alejandro Saab. RIP Billy Kametz.) Also I read somewhere that WildBrains tends to release trailers with unfinished animation, so maybe it might end up looking better! I will always stay a fan of Monkie Kid because it is my favorite cartoon series of all time, the story and character design is peak, it made me be even more interested in Chinese culture and legends!
S6 will be him finding all the infinity stones and everyone and the LEGO multiverse assemble to defeat Lego Thanos or someone similar, in an epic Lego endgame, with MK saying ¨Alright, everyone...¨ along with all of them shouting ¨LEGO!¨.
I do notice the differences that people are talking about in the animation but personally it's not that much of an issue ,at least for the time being, i definitely prefer flying bark's animation but still I'm not losing interest in the show because of the change Also since you've mentioned Ninjago I HIGHLY recommend you check out Ninjago dragons rising it is considered a new show some call it a soft reboot and it's great new storyline, characters, cleaner animation it really is worth watching
The thing with Wildbrain is that they are more specialized in 3D animation, we don't know how they will deal with 2D animation and so it's kind of difficult to know what the animation will be like, but that doesn't mean I'm abandoning the show! no no no, this is Monkie Kid!! I will watch until the end of times!!
while they do do alot of 3d animation, wildbrain has produced 2d shows like carmen sandiego, which is a beautiful looking show!! im sure once they get used to the animation style we'll see it get better as we go. after all, flyingbark had an adjustment period with lmk's artstyle too!

For me I was sorta just salty at first because just before I watched the trailer, I was talking to my friends about the show, at which they knew nothing about and was about to write me off as a dork that likes lego shows. But I was super excited and defended it like “nononono it’s not like the cgi kids lego shows it’s like genuinely beautiful, it’s 2D, hand drawn, smooth, and is written so well! Literally one of the reasons I’m going into animation as a major” And then I watch it and see puppet animation (or animation that is rigged) and it’s incomplete animation. I’ve been learning about animation and have been practicing with Key frames, breakdowns, and in betweens so I know what it’s supposed to look like. The trailer looks like it lacks in betweens. And while it’s true the company did ninjago, that was a cgi show and lmk is 2D so it it still a big adjustment and it shows. I believe this was a rushed trailer though so I’m still impressed with the effort put into it despite my initial shock. The company needs practice that they were not given in order to draw and animate 2D legos and find a better flow. I’m sure come the release of season 5, it’ll look more polished and the story will be good because same writing team lol I am optimistic and will still enjoy it, if not just to see Red Son get his spoonful of screen time lmao XD Good video as always! While I wasn’t a huge fan of some of the tweened/rigged parts of the trailer I’m very convinced that the animation is just gonna get better as the season progresses since the studio is adjusting to it. Also if you watched Ninjago Dragons Rising you’d know just how amazing and beautiful the fight scenes are so I think it’s safe to say Wildbrain is gonna do a great job with at the very least the fight scenes
Wildbrain work in the later Ninjago season's is amazing like in movie quality. The fught scenes became peak after Wildbrain take care of the show (Wilfilm was good too).
My basic knowledge of wildbrain's works, specifically on ninjago does give me some worry on the backlach it will receive from the monkie kid fandom, and not in the aspect of them doing a bad job, as they do make great animation, but personally i think they shine more on 3d animation. Their 2d animation can be seen as more stiff(specially comparing their 2d animation on ninjago with monkie kid's flying bark animation). So i would be looking with a less judgemental look when the season does come out. We dont know the reasons for the decision and wildbrain doesnt have fault in that, they will be doing the best they can and thats what matters❤
It’s a real trailer, supposedly it’s leaked. It’s almost 100% not finished. I spent atleast two days dwelling on the studio change. I HATED the change. HATED. But after a while of sitting on it and thinking, I realized it wasn’t that bad. I know that FB didn’t always have this amazing style, it took them almost 3 seasons to perfect it! I believe that WB is a good choice for a switch. WB has animated shows like Carmen Sandiego, Sonic Prime, and Ninjago. They have experience animating 2D things, just with animation puppets! They really just need to get used to the style, maybe study the old way the animation was and how the art look and implement it into their work. Even if it looks a little messed up, I’m there to see my favorite characters develop. Sure, I love the art and admire how beautiful the backgrounds are, but we will have the same writers and everything! Just not the same animation. Besides, they seem to already be getting the hang of the 2D-Lego style. The end scene where Mei and Redson are talking, it actually looks pretty similar to FB’s style, in my opinion! Not to mention, I think they got Sandy’s animation down for the most part. He probably looks the most “normal” in the trailer when it comes to animation. 😭🙏 TWITTER NEEDS TO CHILL… I get the change is jarring, I’m still not super thrilled about the change either. But it is NOT worth wishing someone’s life away.
When I found out the trailer happened and the animation switched, well, of course I got upset. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it's not cool to be mean and threaten folks. If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the Lego Company for not compromising with schedules for Flying Bark. And I've been procrastinating on it lmfao but let's just say ever since that trailer released, I've gotten a reignited spark of inspiration on working on it before the new season premieres lmfao. To tell you that when I mentioned Flying Bark leaving once and went into detail, and I suddenly found myself writing like 15 paragraphs about my feelings on the trailer alone, what this could mean for the show and future Lego show products, and that this trailer could be the Pokemon X/Y of Lego(as those games are the ones that marked the decline of the future pokemon games afterward in terms of story and bugs) is actually the understatement of the century. The animation so far looks fine, but you can still tell it's a downgrade. Movement looks a little stiffer--not bad, but just, y'know, stiffer. Less movement, less inbetween frames, a lot more tweening/copy paste. I thought maybe they had a big budget cut rather than a studio change, but that makes more sense. It's a downgrade, but not *bad* animation. I'm still looking forward to the new season, just not so much for it's animated spectacle anymore.
The art style didn't change but the animation. Which *is* a major down grade, but understandable. Wildbrain isn't that familair with 2D or skilled with frame by frame. Personally, I'm not mad at Wildbrain, I'm mad that they had to to begin at such a heavy Season/potentially the heaviest Season. The animation was a HUGE selling point fir the show, now the hype isn't as big because of the sudden change :/ LEGO has the resources to have hired a studio with the skill needed but didn't because they simply don't care. They sell toys not TV shows afterall. Also, the apparent harrasment and death threats keep being brought up yet there's no evidence of it actually happening.

Would you ever be interested in doing ninjago themed videos in the future? Ik that there are a lot of seasons ( cough cough 17s + 2 specials) and it probably seems overwhelming with how long it is, but there arent that many chanels that i find that go into depth like you do with yours.

And yea ninjago has had so many false ends xD like the show was supposed to end after s2 but people loved it so much that they brought it back, and then there were rumors that s10 was the end, and then there were also rumors that s15 was the end.
I'm not gonna lie and say I'm not sad because I am. Flying bark is amazing and definitely set the bar high, I'm just glad the show wasn't cancelled. I'm trying not to get too mentally ill about a cartoon and instead just chill, hopefully the trailer just wasn't getting their good side. Bottom line tho is that it's not the animator's fault that it looks different and no one should be making fun of their art period.

Its a surprisingly good game and nice deltarune music in the credits omg if you want any show to react to check out murder drones (made by same creators as the digital circus) but you have to discover the lore yourself kinda like being a detective but for lore lol or lackadaisy its animation is so visually pleasing theres only a pilot out rn and some or one mini episode(s)

They really just need to get used to the style, maybe study the old way the animation was and how the art look and implement it into their work. Even if it looks a little messed up, I’m there to see my favorite characters develop. Sure, I love the art and admire how beautiful the backgrounds are, but we will have the same writers and everything! Just not the same animation.
Besides, they seem to already be getting the hang of the 2D-Lego style. The end scene where Mei and Redson are talking, it actually looks pretty similar to FB’s style, in my opinion! Not to mention, I think they got Sandy’s animation down for the most part. He probably looks the most “normal” in the trailer when it comes to animation.

When I found out the trailer happened and the animation switched, well, of course I got upset. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it's not cool to be mean and threaten folks.
If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the Lego Company for not compromising with schedules for Flying Bark. Still though, don't dox or harass anyone no matter how mad you are, that's an asshole move.

And I've been procrastinating on it lmfao but let's just say ever since that trailer released, I've gotten a reignited spark of inspiration on working on it before the new season premieres lmfao.
To tell you that when I mentioned Flying Bark leaving once and went into detail, and I suddenly found myself writing like 15 paragraphs about my feelings on the trailer alone, what this could mean for the show and future Lego show products, and that this trailer could be the Pokemon X/Y of Lego(as those games are the ones that marked the decline of the future pokemon games afterward in terms of story and bugs) is actually the understatement of the century.
I uh, also make it apparent in the script that It's absolutely fair to see my thoughts as really overdramatic for a minute thirty trailer that doesn't even look bad. Lol
I'm one of the people who strongly dislike the new animation style Not despise but dislike. I think we need to give Wild brain a chance ofc and I'm a fan of their previous works but Monkie kid was animated like an anime. Wild Bark studio does 2d model rigging which is why everything looks rlly off in the trailer.
I'm just hoping that Wild brain didn't put their best foot forward with the trailer and the series looks fine. Also screw Lego for changing the style they shouldn't have put so much pressure on Flying bark and should be more focused on paying the people who make their show. >:/

The animation so far looks fine, but you can still tell it's a downgrade. Movement looks a little stiffer--not bad, but just, y'know, stiffer. Less movement, less inbetween frames, a lot more tweening/copy paste. I thought maybe they had a big budget cut rather than a studio change, but that makes more sense. It's a downgrade, but not *bad* animation. I'm still looking forward to the new season, just not so much for it's animated spectacle anymore.

The art style didn't change but the animation. Which *is* a major down grade, but understandable. Wildbrain isn't that familair with 2D or skilled with frame by frame. Personally, I'm not mad at Wildbrain, I'm mad that they had to to begin at such a heavy Season/potentially the heaviest Season. The animation was a HUGE selling point fir the show, now the hype isn't as big because of the sudden change :/ LEGO has the resources to have hired a studio with the skill needed but didn't because they simply don't care. They sell toys not TV shows afterall.
Also, the apparent harrasment and death threats keep being brought up yet there's no evidence of it actually happening.
I just hope season five of monkie kid be awesome

Would you ever be interested in doing ninjago themed videos in the future? Ik that there are a lot of seasons ( cough cough 17s + 2 specials) and it probably seems overwhelming with how long it is, but there arent that many chanels that i find that go into depth like you do with yours.

@AlleyDreamer (soz for such a late reply 😭) i would 100% suggest dragons rising it is some of the best ninjago media we have ever gotten, although you prolly wont get some references to prior seasons. And yea ninjago has had so many false ends xD like the show was supposed to end after s2 but people loved it so much that they brought it back, and then there were rumors that s10 was the end, and then there were also rumors that s15 was the end.
I'm not gonna lie and say I'm not sad because I am. Flying bark is amazing and definitely set the bar high, I'm just glad the show wasn't cancelled. I'm trying not to get too mentally ill about a cartoon and instead just chill, hopefully the trailer just wasn't getting their good side. Bottom line tho is that it's not the animator's fault that it looks different and no one should be making fun of their art period.

The trailer has been comfirmed to be official, normally we get the trailers after the season drops or just not but we did this time thats why everyone thought it was fake also people said it could be unfinished but its been stated to be official by the head writer and other people at flying bark said the same the unfinished ninjago trailer was different bc it was announced to be unfinished if i remember while this was not
Also also get back on ur ninjago grind the most recent season is definitely one of the best yet also would love to see you play indigo park (sorry if i spelt that wrong lol?) Its a surprisingly good game and nice deltarune music in the credits omg if you want any show to react to check out murder drones (made by same creators as the digital circus) but you have to discover the lore yourself kinda like being a detective but for lore lol or lackadaisy its animation is so visually pleasing theres only a pilot out rn and some or one mini episode(s)
