Thank U :) Not sure what kind of ET it will run, but judging from others we have built. It feels like it will be very low elevens or high tens. Stick shift cars are really hard to master at the drag strip.
@@dcimotorsports1111 B4 bracket racing "ruined" drag racing, stick shifts were prefered, and people with talent to drive them were respected. Powershifting is a forgotten art, just like woodworking with hand tools, and pianos. Not that I'm proficient at any of that, but I remember when sticks ruled, and automatics were for your mother, and grandmothers. And I know all about how times have changed. Sad. But your car brings back those days when hi-po cars were a huge part of society, and a lot of people viewed their cars as more than just transportation. And your car is extremely special because of its eng., and drivetrain, and the OD is just the right touch of a modern upgrade to make it more pleasurable. I hope to see a "day at the drags" with your goat, (maybe in the spring?) which would be a nice conclusion to your postings of this magnificent machine. Thanks again for allowing us to experience what many of us don't have the opportunity to enjoy. Good luck.
@@joequillun7790 I will keep everyone posted if it goes to the track for sure. I agree with the stick shift cars. I love hearing the guys or gals rowing the gears going down the track :) Merry Christmas to you and your Family !!!!
I love watching your video's they bring back some great memories from the late 70's and early 80's. I had a '71 GTO RAM AIR III 400, I put a bunch of money into the motor to do it right as best I could (I was 18 only had $3000 to spend, a lot back then, and dumber than a box of rocks but I tried). I still have all the receipts from back then but they aren't very legible and mostly part numbers without brand names to give you a clue. I do still have the cam speck sheet, it was a Crane Cam's Fireball, if you want the specks off the sheet I'll be glad to get them out. Anyhow, I put TRW power forged 10.6 -1 pistons in it, double roller timing chain and gears, Edlebrock Torquer intake, Holly 780 dual feed double pumper carb (I know the claims about 780's now but back then the carb was given to me by a friend that took it off his broken '72 GTO), the machine shop took the bulk of my money cleaning it up, 30 over bore, magnuflux block, crank and rods and then balancing the whole thing. You are probably bored by now and could tell me a million things I did wrong but it did run like a scalded dog. Thanks for the memories and good luck with your builds.
Thank U Sir for the Kudos !!!! I try to share as many of our projects as possible with the limited time we have. It makes me Happy when I get responses like yours and Thank You again. :) PS The combo you built back in the day was quite popular and did run well like you stated. Thanks for sharing.
@@DonJohnstonDCIMotorsports Thank you. One other item I had was a Mallory dual point that was mechanical advance only and was set for full advance at 3,000 RPM's, I got the best result with that distributor but it was limited to 7 mm spark plug wires.
Well it depends on what and how of course. They do cost a little extra compared to a standard Pontiac type head. If you interested give me a call M-F 10 - 6 Eastern 330-850-5050 Thanks Don !!!
I love it. RAV 70 GTO, with a stick. Can't wait for track testing. Thank you for posting. (Thumbs up) :)

Is the 6th gear an overdrive ?
And if so, do you know what the ratio is ?
Or is both 5 and 6 overdrive.

Whats a ballpark figure for a RA V like that?
