    I thank you for explaing with detail the way you connect the wires and how you put everything in order, so many people just don't bother to explain that... your explanation gives confidence in trying a very small one. Your result is brilliant, literally brilliant and brilliant because it is marvellous!

    A hot tip with soldering (no pun intended). If you add solder to the bare wire and the contact of LEDs before joining the two, you'll end up with a much better solder join. This is called "tinning" and also makes inserting the wire much easier because the tinned wire will prevent any stray wires from a potential short.

    Hi. Don`t mean to be rude or grumpy, but touching the soldering tin with the iron first, and then the wire is a common mistake, which causes future cold-joints. Consider making a simple holder, or at least use some flux ;)

    Amazing! This is well made and definitely looks like you did your research! One suggestion I will say that will make your life way easier is to use heat shrink instead of electrical tape to cover those solder joints! Just slide the heat shrink on, then solder the wires and then move the heat shrink over the joint and then heat it with a lighter and it will shrink onto the wire. It’s a lot faster, cleaner and more durable than electrical tape as well! Great job!

    Id suggest proper colored electrical wire over speaker wire.
    Just a idea but use a colored poster board on the back and push wires thru the board will hide them and give ya more contrast.

    • @SuPrAmAd101
      @SuPrAmAd101 3 года назад +2

      the point of using clear wire is so you dont see it.. There is nothing wrong with using speaker wire for this.

    • @andrescacciamani
      @andrescacciamani 3 года назад

      I tried... it's way too tough. Since proper electrical wire isn't as flexible. I eventually bought the speaker wire and made life 1,000 times easier

    • @_OhAbode
      @_OhAbode  2 года назад

      If you used coloured acrylic, you can use coloured wire as you can’t see it, but as I wanted clear acrylic, speaker wire was much more effective

    • @_OhAbode
      @_OhAbode  3 года назад

      Length of rope? You can get them in 10m packs but you can just buy multiple packs so there isn’t really a maximum! With the acrylic, you may need to make it in sections, i think the longest I can get in the UK from a standard hardware store is 1.6m wide

    love this tutorial, just wondering though. what if the section you need to go around is + or - the 2.5cm cut interval? You seemed to be very lucky with each part with the cut points. How did you manage that?

    • @_OhAbode
      @_OhAbode  2 года назад

      So you can cut the tubing at any point but don’t cut the electrical strip. If you cut the strip at the next cut point you can fold it back inside the tubing that’s cut shorter. Otherwise you can adapt your design slightly x

    As an Electronics Repair Professional, you can touch those wires powered all day long and NEVER do any harm to yourself. They should be either 5v, 12v or 24v all of which is a low enough voltage that it won't hurt you at all... In comparison, old wired telephone wires run at 50volts DC.. Whenever the "phoneman" comes out to work on them, they don't shut down the phone network. Even on rainy days. It's because DC power (not AC) goes straight in and back out through the shortest path. As opposed to AC which will travel into your body and "bounce around" and if it passes through your heart with enough current (which is the key. Current Kills!!!) then it "could" stop your heart. But DC has very little chance of this, and the chance goes to 0% at anything under 30Volts DC. The human body is a pretty bad conductor at those voltages. Well, At least on the outside. lol

    Hello, I have tried to do it by my own but I’m struggling to make more than 2 cuts of led work, the rest of the other cuts are not working. If you can share me some advice, on my case the negative is a black cable and the positive is a red cable.
    I have a 12v withe the same adapter.

    • @_OhAbode
      @_OhAbode  2 года назад

      Have you tried swapping the wires around? Red should be on the side that’s the “bottom” and the black should be on the coloured light side. Also make sure that the inner metal if the wire has good contact with the pads in the rope, and be sure the two positive and negative, nor the solder that’s connecting them to the rope is touching as this can short out the light. If you check they work as you go, you can identify the problem pretty quickly x

    Would it be possible to use 16 gauge speaker wire instead of 24 gauge speaker wire as the link to the wire you used doesn’t deliver to my country and what’s different between the different gauges of wire?

    • @_OhAbode
      @_OhAbode  2 года назад

      The higher the gauge the smaller the wire, I think! :) I made the mistake of ordering 12 gauge and it was really thick. It’s up to you, but the one I linked is thin and can be somewhat hidden as it’s clear. You don’t need that exact one, but 24 gauge is better I think esp if you can get it seethrough x
