- I took measurements around my house comparing my Arris Surfboard SBG6782-AC Docsis 3.0 modem/wireless router system, and then compared them with the dramatic changes brought about by the new Arris Surfboard 32 x 8 SB8200 Docsis 3.1 modem, gig speed internet and the Linksys MX10 Velop AX Mesh Wi-Fi 6 (2 pack) system.

I have the exact same set-up!! So far so good but one thing I noticed on the app is the devices will disconnect from the router and then re-appear by the default name. Just a bug that needs to be fixed but all in all the Linksys Velop MX10 is really solid. Range could be a little more longer but the speed is there and the WPA3 encryption for wifi 6 devices is legit. Future-proofed for awhile now..
Nice video!
Xfinity is just slow. We have 300mb but only got 30 to 50mb range. Upgrade to 600mb still only have 60 to 90mb range. I tried 3 different modem+router combo.
I will try separate modem and router this weekend. I wish I have att fiber internet in my area.
Will this modem go good with the neatgear ac2300 smart WiFi router with a 1ghz dual processor
I don’t know - anyone else?
I just purchased one on Amazon after upgrading our service to a gigabit. So, I’m doing as much research on the Arris before it arrives. I see that it has two ethernet ports. Could I split it? One to the WiFi and the other to a managed switch? I have ethernet ports in every room. Or should I just use one and use my WiFi router and port it out to the switch?
I am not an expert - but my instinct says to run one ethernet wire to the router, and connect the switch to a port from the router....just my 2 cents, someone who is more knowledgable could give you better advice than me....
The Arris Surfboard SB8200 is a great Docsis 3.1 modem for gigabit plans!! Bought mine when it first come out and haven't had one problem with it since.. Fantastic buy!!
No. One I believe will the main gigabit connection and the may not work. The other is there if you want Two gigabit ports. But check
How much did that router cost?
Jblaze 9800 $170.00
Xfinity is a scam. When you call them to complain, they boost your speed up for that day, and then back to normal the following day, slow ass hell. Don’t waste your money on new equipments.
