From the japanese "The Headmasters" Transformers cartoon, Blaster aka Broadcast died at the hands of Soundwave, in a fight to the death. But thanks to Fortress Maximus, he was brought back to life, now in blue and under a new name, as Twincast. And continued being the Autobots communications officer with his cassette bots.
Since this was in G1 i want this, he looks spectacular in these colours. Now if we could only get a proper Soundwave in the colours he was in after he got a new body....
Incredible review Chefatron!!!! I'm super thrilled to finally see a modern voyager class sized Twincast figure, especially since we got Soundblaster back in 2019 in the Siege line. :D Keep on being amazing.
Fun comparative review, Chef! Did you notice the gun on this one is flexible? Pity about the single tape-deck chest. I absolutely ❤️ the dual cassette function on my Takara Siege Soundblaster.
I bought this figure because I wanted the original Blaster to have Rewind! I would've like the chest to hold 2 cassettes but Ha$bro is maximizing their profits after all the millions they lost on the Disney Star Wars trilogy toys!
Great review as always bro .3rd time of this great mold because you know cassettes make it a must buy for me . I have 40 cassettes in this size now lol. Cassette CRAZY 🤣
Blaster is my favorite g1 autobot so having him is fantastic I just bought the shattered glass deco of him but I don't think I would buy this one at least not right now due to the price point but great review
Not sure if it's worth it to get Twincast just because I require Rewind to complete the Autobots cassettes team 🤔. Here's hoping Hasbro will release Ramhorn and Steeljaw somewhere down the line.
I agree...I was hoping they added the double cassette deck and an animal cassette at least ,without that the name doesn't even make sense...love blaster and even the shattered glass version but this disappointed me...but if they do a earthmode soundblaster then I'll get this one to have the rivals..
Twincast from Transformers Headmasters anime. He is a redeco of Blaster and he are made of blue plastic and her legs are white plastic. So shiny and even premium.
I'm kind of annoyed this Twincast does not have a Thicker Chest to hold 2 Cassettes instead of One like Soundblaster in Siege, which is kind of irritating, on well, At least we got Rewind.
To triple dip or not? That is the question. I still own the first release from the Legacy refresh and I did just get into the Headmasters anime so I’m thinking about it.
3 runs of a mould would not lead to that degree of degradation, it's just the different plastics used, mould degradation takes years of use, just think how many runs some of the G1 moulds had.
This is from a Japanese episode of "Headmasters". Blaster and Soundwave destroyed each other, and gheir respective teams rebuilt them with new names and paint. Soundwave became Soundblaster, Blaster became Twincast. So Twincast has genuine G1 roots.
@@chefatron Oh, you're very welcome! I have both. I kind of supplemented my complete Studio Series 86 collection with the Legacy Evolution Blaster, and the War For Cybertron Springer. So my kid and I would have the complete cast of the film. Then we saw Twincast one day, and he said, "I DIDN'T KNOW BLASTER HAD A BROTHER"! LOL! So I had to break out the Headmasters and explain it to him, too. ...after we bought the Twincast figure, of course.
@@chefatron Yeah, it caught me by surprise, actually. It's not "Batwheels" or "Buzz Lightyear". It's clearly older. But that didn't seem to make any difference at all to him. And my goodness, how he loves the 1986 movie! He went crazy for Hot Rod and especially Ultra Magnus. So I got him two of each of those figures. One for his little movie collection, and one he could be a little more at ease with. That he didn't have to worry about damaging. On Saturdays, he's been known to make me play "Autobots" with him from 6am til bedtime. It sure does beat him being a screen kid. He never asks to use a tablet or a phone. That was something I worried about a lot before he was born. So "go Transformers", I guess. LOL
@@Shodan8285 oh wow that is so awesome to hear man! I miss playing transformers with my kids... now they're growing up really fast and want nothing to do with their parents LOL

I am getting Twincast just for Rewind to complete that robot duo of Eject and Rewind,
awesome! happy hunting man
do soundwaves tapes fit into soundblaster too?
yeah, they should
Amazing recolor of a Great figure!
yeah, definitely
Fun comparative review, Chef!

thanks so much my friend :-D
well, it's softer, yeah...
yeah, I wish they had more budget to re-engineer the chest...
I wish they retooled the chest so it could hold two cassettes
yeah, I agree
Ya know, I bet they tried to do that, but realized the buttons would compromise it from opening
It’s only a theory though

awesome bro!
yeah sadly
maybe i get him since i already have siege soundblaster. his colors are cool as well, give me that anime vibe
awesome bro! happy hunting

yeah, good point bro
that's all good man
Nice review! Funny thing TwinCast is much more expensive now than Blaster. Wonder why?
oh really? he was warming the shelves last Christmas over here ...
@@chefatron Nice to know! I got something to look forward when I take a vacation here this year! Probably go into sale 🤞

I can’t wait to get this figure! They gave this guy The Rock look.
awesome! happy hunting man!
They could have given us a new cassette and I would have been happier than the new smirk. I really dislike the yellow face.
yeah, I know right?!

I'll decide for what i buy if i want this figure
that's alright
No way Hasbro was going to make new cassettes because they were saving the recolor for a sure bet sale for Rewind.
yeah sadly
Many people will probably pick this up simply for the Rewind figure, sadly.
yes I think so... and it will be scarce since it's one per case with 2 metal hawk figures in the case
Honestly in my case, yeah. Mostly so he can go with my Titans Return Chromedome. That, and Twincast looks slightly cooler than Blaster.
I'm still have Kingdom version
Its pretty good.
yes definitely!
