That looks like an electrosocket output jack not just a normal barrel, which is (in my opinion) a major upgrade. It's screwed into the wood, rather than using that little metal device to grab on the wood that's hard to take out, install, and wears loose that the original teles had. But no jack plate means no washer to work loose or plastic to crack, and it's got fewer parts than the original fender as the jack screws directly into it but isn't gonna do the several rotations needed to fall out even if it works loose with the extra thread grabbing onto it. IMO, I'd use it on every side output guitar I could.

Nice guitar - but what is with the strings passing over the height adjustment screw hole? Something not right there at all, especially where there are options such as the Callam or the latest Gotoh compensated types.
It would be nice if you could test these P90 equipped guitars to see if they do the classic P90 tones. The dialed down tone that sounds like an open Wah pedal, The P90 snarl at max volume, the strat imitation when you dial a P90 to around 7 on the volume knob... great video as always tho.

As for the sound, there's nothing particularly interesting happening for me. Is it worth the money? It all feels a bit gimmicky. Nice nod to Tap...Thanks for the review.
Without the Esquire control wiring this guitar seems more like a LP Jr. (IMHO). There are many wiring mods available for the Esquire that really make it very versatile. My Esquire has a 3-way switch, position #1 is straight to the output jack, no tone or volume controls. Position #2 is normal volume and tone. Position #3 is the Eldred mod which uses a second capacitor to make it sound like a half-cocked Wah-Wah. With position #1 bypassing the volume and tone control I can roll back the volume and wiggle the switch between positions #1 and #2 producing a Stutter/ON-OFF effect. Like I said, just my opinion but I see this Tele much more in the tradition of a Les Paul Jr. This guitar is cool and all with the P90 however the very angry sounding pickup in my Esquire might have a bit of an edge over the P90.
I got one in vintage blonde in August and it’s awesome! Can’t put it down, such a fun and great sounding guitar. The neck on this is a 60s C profile and it feels fantastic! You forgot to mention that you can also ‘top load’ the bridge for a bit less string tension and a slightly more slinkier feel. Yep it is pretty pricey for a single pickup guitar but I think it’s worth it, very unique. The Noventa series is also a 2021 limited edition run so they’re not gonna be available for long! 🎸👌
I love one pickup guitars. My #1 is my VOS Les Paul Junior. I previously had an Esquire that was killer (but thats gone now). So when I saw these come out, I had to try one. My local shop had 2 - a sunburst with the Pau Ferro board, and a blonde with the maple board. Played them both, and really liked the blond one. Better setup, better tones, it just spoke to me, and thus, it followed me home.
Does that bridge have holes for top-loading the strings? Some of the shots in the video look like it might, but you never got the right angle to see for sure. I couldn't tell whether there were top-loader holes, or it was just a reflection from the string-through holes.
Another thing Trogly missed was that the blonde and fiesta red ones have maple cap fretboards and Fender hasn’t made those since 68 and 69. Truly unique.
I owned the Jazzmaster for one night (the red one w maple fretboard). Returned it the next morning. Reason I didn't get the Tele (same color as the one demo'd here): The overall cost vs what you're getting. It had the Pau Ferro like this one which almost sold me. It just didn't have the fit & finish I'd expect for the price $1400 CDN, which was what I paid for my American Performer Strat HSS. I love Mexican builds, it was just the hardware seemed low end. For that price, it really, really isn't worth it. It's a basic Tele with one pickup, made with Mexican labor. It should be $800 CDN ($650 US) if we're considering the market value. I must say the Noventa Tele sounded WAY better than the Gibson TV Special I almost bought instead, but I was floored with how cheap the TV Special felt. Another shot at Gibson here - I much, much prefer Fender's burst colors. Rich brown, not orange/yellow like a stained 70's carpet. Pau Ferro looks a lot better on this Tele than Rosewood. Reason I didn't keep the Jazzmaster: It was over the top heavy & I can't seem to think of any additional tones you're getting with 3 P90s. The whole nature of the P90 is...well, two P90s is enough. It just seemed to be ...flimsy despite its weight. It was beautiful to look at, but the tonal diversity wasn't worth the weight & cost. After playing the Tele for a solid hour in the guitar shop, I decided on the Noventa Strat (Daphne Blue, maple fretboard). With two P90s & a 3-way switch, I found it gave you everything a P90 can give you. I put locking Kluson tuners on the Strat, new EB 9.5 gauge strings & replaced the black hardware with chrome hardware. It's my first experience with Kluson-style tuners, and I must say it's staying in tune better than my 4 other other guitars, quite noticeably. I've got a Gibson ES-339 & a Fender Tele Deluxe (Troublemaker Tele) with locking tuners & Schaller roller bridges (no trems at the time of comparison), and the Noventa Strat keeps tune better than both of them (and they're sporting EB 10-46 Strings). I don't like gloss fretboards & the Strat either has very little or none. This guitar was 'just right' - it had just enough tone & quality to justify the very high price.
Good Review ! I Bought One Used Today For $500., It is in Excellent Condition ! I Didn't Realize Until You Spoke About the Serial Number that Mine is a 75th Anniversary Issue. Love it!
You have to consider Gibson's comparable model is the LP Jr., which costs about the same. Compared to an Esquire, would I prefer this? At this point, I'm more inclined to try this one!
And it isnt even Friday. This one looks sort of like the American special I have but mine of course is a neck and bridge setup with three brass barrels on the bridge. Seems though this Telecaster should have an option of a neck pickup to match the bridge. Of course being switchable. I agree on the chrome pickup and pickguard idea. That's one thing an experienced player knows . Where your picking will produce a varying range of sound. Rocknroll hootchie coo isnt really hard to play and fun too.
P90s are great pups Richie, they'll take gain, sound nasty as. A lot thicker sounding than a strat or tele single coil..give em a go l rekn ull like em.
I wish the body was a bit more modern. A belly cut would be nice. Also locking tuners along with a noiseless p 90 would help justify the price. Nut material should be Graphtec. Still a good guitar.
07:12 YES! This is the reason I've started to consider mij fenders a cut above the rest when it comes to craftsmanship. It has become a problem, because there's a special edition roasted neck traditional jazzmaster that just might be impossible for me to pass on.
What a looker, yeah black Noventa and small black guard, it's not an Esquire or Tele, it's unique' and if the 90 is anything like the Gibson, it will have a certain crunch' ...Spinal Tap demo was great with superb tones, nice and shiny for the stage, just prefer a darker fretboard...

Does that bridge have holes for top-loading the strings? Some of the shots in the video look like it might, but you never got the right angle to see for sure. I couldn't tell whether there were top-loader holes, or it was just a reflection from the string-through holes.
That guitar is awesome
Maybe I'm a weirdo but I really wish single pickup guitars weren't always in the bridge position. I really like guitars with only a neck or middle.
Me too. If I had a signature guitar it would be a hard tail strat with only the neck pickup. I just love the tone of it on mine.
Loving the Spinal Tap tribute riffs!! Thanks and keep up the great work!
I own a Placid Blue 2011 Fender Maurader in mint condition. Never gigged with less than 5 hours. Wonder if it has much value.
Another thing Trogly missed was that the blonde and fiesta red ones have maple cap fretboards and Fender hasn’t made those since 68 and 69. Truly unique.
The TV Jones filtertrons fit neither P90 or humbucker routs. Definitely tried lol
I love my Noventa Tele. I was especially pleased to find an electro-socket instead of the usual clonker.
Love the streaky fret board. I want one. If I had to pick a one pickup guitar it would be this one.
I own the Vintage Blondie version and I love it! ❤ It's my first P-90 equipped guitar.
I got fiesta red!😊✌🏿
I'm going to get the fiesta red jazzmaster. I can't wait to get p90's in my life.
Okay, now you have to do a bass review, and play "Big Bottoms".
Ideally a twin neck bass.
That Spinal Tap riff really brightened my day man lol.
I like it. Very bright, open airy tone.
Good Review !
I Bought One Used Today For $500.,
It is in Excellent Condition !
I Didn't Realize Until You Spoke About the Serial Number that Mine is a 75th Anniversary Issue.
Love it!
I love single pickup guitars, there's a nice simplicity about them, you always know what to expect
You have to consider Gibson's comparable model is the LP Jr., which costs about the same. Compared to an Esquire, would I prefer this? At this point, I'm more inclined to try this one!
I get the urge to put an additional fret, other than that, i'd love to try one out.
I'd love a one-pickup guitar, but it would have to be the neck pickup. Sadly this particular guitar and others like it are of no use to me at all.
Excellent video! Very detailed. Many thanks 👍
Love the Spinal Tap riffs!
Love the streaking on that fretboard.
I dig the Tele..love the one pick up
I just need a humbucker for my mindless chugging. I'm not really good enough to pull off one p90. I have seen people make them sound awesome though
You can just swap the P90 for a P90 sized humbucker. I think the P94 and P100 are both humbuckers.
P90s are great pups Richie, they'll take gain, sound nasty as. A lot thicker sounding than a strat or tele single coil..give em a go l rekn ull like em.
I agree, I'm looking for a les Paul Jnr that won't kill my bank, and I'm a metal guy
Trogley playing Spinal Tap? Tonight he's gonna rock us!
I love this guitar :)
does it go up to 11?
I wish the body was a bit more modern. A belly cut would be nice. Also locking tuners along with a noiseless p 90 would help justify the price. Nut material should be Graphtec. Still a good guitar.
Best parts of the LP Junior and some of the Tele
Check the setup - that center bridge saddle looks suspect.
You're right, it looks great! Proof that simplicity can look excellent.
Would be cool if they added the broadcaster 3 way switch
