    Just bought from harbor freight to remove two lug nut locks.
    Worked great. Couple taps with a hammer then put the impact on it, came right off. The straight rod is for knocking the lug nut out of the socket.

    The best extractors I ever used are right here in this video. I have a hard time finding them in bigger sizes anything above 19mm. I have 2 sets 19mm and smaller but for like missing or broken wheel lock key this set would be perfect to have.

    • @alley55customs93
      @alley55customs93  2 года назад +1

      So, I just bought a larger set of extractors. Amazon has a 6 pc extractor set - THINKWORK 6 pc model number W6070. It includes 17mm, 19mm, 21mm, 22mm, 27mm for $29.97. Hope this helps you out.

    I need a 20mm lug nut remover tool . I can hammer on a 25/32 and it fits tight but comes off the wheel lock . A 13/16 is too big and a 3/4 is to small . And a 19mm is too small ..Any deas ?

    The lugs with the key are a perfectly smooth around. Will this bite into that?

    • @alley55customs93
      @alley55customs93  Год назад +1

      Yes, I had no problem with smooth surfaces. Sometimes you’ll have to tap it on with a hammer.

    What would the straight rod be used for. Many thanks

    • @alley55customs93
      @alley55customs93  Год назад +3

      It’s called a drift punch. It’s made to remove the stuck nut or bolt that you just removed. It is done by hammering the drift punch down through the back of the socket popping out the stuck piece. The twist sockets make a positive lock on the object being removed.

      The straight rod is a punch to remove the stuck lug nut, bolt, etc from inside the twist socket.

      punch aid removal nut from socket

    • @alley55customs93
      @alley55customs93  2 года назад +2

      It is exactly what “woodthump” stated. Usually the stripped out lug nut gets stuck in the extraction socket. It’s a punch to remove the lug from the socket.

    wrong approach in directly hitting the socket with hammer - better use a dollar coin stuck with tape on the socket back /or some wood or other metal which will take the brunt of the hammer but transfer the blow evenly on the socket without damaging the socket or its phosphate coating!!
