I'm super happy with how the wall turned out! Definitely wasn't cheap, and I was a little worried at first, but hopefully it help the layout stand out from other builders. What other colours should I try and use on the layout?
Sand green is a lovely colour to use in my opinion :)
@@ChimpyWallah yes! Definitely will have to use some of that!
@@Britishbricks I've been meaning to ask you................... How much money did it cost you exactly to buy the LEGO piece's you needed in order to build that amazing Railroad Bridge (I mean in both British and American money costs)?
@@Britishbricks good luck getting to 10k
Hmm maybe some yellow or maybe try a jellybean lane idea?
This is amazing! I always wanted to see sand red being used more in custom Layouts as it’s such a unique and cool color. It’s so unfortunate that LEGO stopped making it. We definitely need more subtle colors like sand red and sand green. These colors make builds look a lot more realistic in my opinion. I’m really looking forward to seeing how your layout will evolve over time.
Thank you! It’s such a shame they didn’t continue the colour, would’ve been nice to get a modular building in sand red. Pretty sure it was too expensive to produce, if I remember correctly. Plenty more updates to come so stay tuned :)
All that sand red is insane! Especially compared to my collection which literally contains 0 sand red elements. Love how it looks so far, looking forward to the next update!
Cheers Mack! Definitely is a lot of sand red, maybe too much XD
Good call with sand red, works really well and stands out amongst the grey or brown walls you usually see, amazing stuff
Couldn’t agree more, makes the perfect backdrop for trains to go past :)
So really the walls one big flex lol. Seriously though it looks great, and the more obscure colour choice really helps that.
Just a bit of a flex isn’t it XD glad you like it mate!
I do like the sand red how it gives that subtle pop in color while keeping it in line with the industrial vibe, akin to steampunk of the turn of the century Victorian-Era. I'll send that LDD file with assets tonight, and you can decide if you want to use it in the diorama or not. Email associated with this RUclips channel alright?
Me too, really blends well with all of the tan colours as well. Yep that email is fine or you can use my other one on patreon. Can’t wait to see it. Thanks, mate! :)
@@Britishbricks On the way
wow those sand red bricks really bring out the colour for your wall anyways great video and keen to see it all completed
Thanks mate, definitely is one of LEGO's best ever colours!
Very impressive! What a great way to use a rare color. The rest of the layout is looking great too, I’m really enjoying seeing the progress of this big project of yours. Keep on building!
Thanks Owen! I’m excited to share what I have planned for future videos :)
The sand red looks great. The fact you spent that much (!) is impressive, but almost more so is the fact it looked like it all came from one BL store?! I didn't know there were stores with so many sand red parts in stock!
When I started this project I knew I was going to have to get as much sand red as possible. Luckily, only one seller had 3000 pieces and after some negotiating I managed to get a ‘reasonable’ price for it. Glad you like it :)
Glad to see your epic level of commitment to excellent modelling! I mean, anyone willing bankrupt themselves for 3000 sand red bricks is worth a thumbs up! Look forward to seeing more!
May have to sell a kidney but still worth it. Next step will be ordering some more FX track!
I’ve never even heard of this color before, and you were able to build a wall with it. Impressive!
Was quite challenging figuring out how to only use one piece in that colour. A lot of different prototypes were made beforehand until I came up with this idea. I really like the use of those curved tiles! Thanks :)
Nice wall. The layout is coming along very nicely by the looks of it!
Cheers Andrew, things have been going surprisingly well!
That colour combination is heavenly! Superb design and definitely worth it
Cheers Larry! :)
The wall looks really good, and I love the tramway section! Maybe try out an electric tram, or perhaps a Beyer Peacock-style steam tram engine
Thanks! An electric tram might be cool, but not sure it would fit under the low bridge.
@@Britishbricks Maybe if it was a single decker possibly?
I love this new addition and I'm certainly looking forward to the next episode!!!
Very glad to hear that, cheers :)
Color reminds me of firebrick from old buildings. Very in keeping with the Era and general feel of a railroad. I was thinking of scrounging up the same color to make an engine house for my electric freight motors.
Awesome idea, definitely has a rustic charm to it. Thanks :)
A very nice looking Victorian period wall! I feel like that maroon colour along the bottom would work really well for a tube station building in that classic Leslie Green ox-blood style
Thanks! Will have to google that, sounds like it would be an interesting match-up :D
Heck yeah that sounds great. That colour choice is definitely one of the best parts of Leslie Green's architecture
amazing, I didn't even know the colour existed!! love the video!!
Thank you Jemima! It's pretty old now, so I'm not surprised. Glad you love the video, thanks :D
This is outstanding you did a great job!
Thanks mate! :D
Looks amazing - sand red is the perfect colour for that wall... but damn, that must have been expensive!!!!
That looks great! Looks like Thomas the Train Engine, which is awesome. I like the use of those upside down half pipes.
Very cool, and very Victorian in looks. Well done!
Thank you :D
This is awesome! So much detail and a good variety of colors (especially the sand red). Also really nice parts usage with the skateboard ramps on the bridge!
I realy like the city updates and the trains
So glad you like it! Hope to do more in the future!
Looks good. Very grand and GWR like.
Thank you! :D
You are PAINFULLY close to 10k subs... I'm so excited for when you finally reach that milestone
Beautiful! 😍
Thank you!
Holy shit, your "leftovers" are still bigger than my whole collection. Looks amazing though! #bringbacksandred
Hahaha would’ve thought you’d have a decent amount in your collection. Glad you like mate!
Like always another amazing video from you British Bricks
Cheers, Darrin! Glad you liked it :)
@@Britishbricks it’s your content that is rarely seen so that’s why I enjoy it mate!
Nice work mate
Thanks mate :D
I think the sand red is a nice color and helps add more flavor to your layout
My thoughts exactly. I really wanted to try something different, and this colour was the perfect choice!
Lovely work Sam. This is something I've been meaning to do. I'm thinking more of a Nougat/Tan coloured wall. If you don't mind me asking, was that a weathered salt/lime wagon at the end of the train?
Love nougat! That wagon was made for Brickvention, just an old salt van that had some over growth on one side. Will try and take a photo of it soon!
Man. This is wonderful. Quite pricey too I'm guessing. I wish I could order off of bricklink NGL, but my parents aren't fond of my hobby
Sad to hear, as long as it makes you happy it shouldn’t matter.
0:57 "So why sand red?" "Coz I'm stinking rich."
More because I saved up a lot, have two part time jobs, a RUclips channel and lots of generous Patreon’s.
Wow, sand red truly is a lovely colour and really makes me wanna sell off my left kidney for a could bricks :D
this is a proper wall moment
The ultimate wall XD
You should make a snapping mechanism with technic pins so they aren’t loose.
This not the final fix, still need to work out if I want to angle the wall before doing that - but thanks for the suggestion :)
Hey @Britishbricks could you show how to make lego train bogeys for trains like mallard or something I’m planning on making a “Black five” or a “a1 prototype lner steam locomotive “
I collect a heck load of Lego and didnt even know this colour existed
I’d argue that this is cooler than a model railway, seeing as you built the models by had
I didn't even know such a massive order was possible on Bricklink.
Do I dare ask how much all those bricks cost to order?
Let’s just say it’s a lot… thanks!
Aaaaye, congrats on 10k subs
We did it!
I love this! Well done!
Thanks, glad you love it :D
Hope it go's well
Thanks, hope so too!
amazing!
Thanks! :D
SO CLOSE TO 10K SUBS
I think you should keep the tramway, it looks awesome when tramways just curve in the streets and I'm between buildings ya know?
Lovely work mate. Question for ya. What type of motor do you use for your trains?
Thanks! I currently use 9V train motors. I will eventually sell those and use the future FX motors for all my builds.
Ah yeah, I remember your tweet about getting sand red
Yep, just a small order XD
Wish that Lego one day came back to 9v system ;
It would be nice, but FX Tracks have got us covered :)
Expensive yes, but it looks incredible! Nice work
Thanks guys! Definitely a one of kind!
Ngl, that’s some proper flexing. If anyone is curious: 3000 1x2 bricks sold in March 2022 via BL, I can guess who bought them. Sold for 0.70€ a piece, so that’s 2.100€ of pure awesomeness.
Glad you like it, I'm not trying to 'flex' just really like the colour. Definitely was a huge decision to use it.
@@Britishbricks wasn't meant in any negative way. Really love the colour too!
Found the MI6 agent
@@BrickSystemBros 🤣
Wow, it looks really good! Where did you buy the bricks?
All from Bricklink :)
Okay, now I'm intrigued
I found this video because I found multiple pieces of the red sand color in my collection and I cannot for the life of me find the theme or sets that they came in I have been looking for a few hours now and I've still got nothing if you what happened to know what sets they came in I would appreciate it!
They came in a Star Wars set for Luke’s speeder, and some in a Mars mission mech.
How much would it cost to build a full steam locomotive 4-6-2 with tender and carriages ish because your layout is going to look so good when it’s done and I really want a steam locomotive like yours makes me jealous everytime I see it 😅
Hmm, I'd say anywhere from 150-300USD depending on the scale and amount of detail you want. Thanks for watching :)
Hey BritishBricks. Can you show how you build your MOCs, I'm really interested to find out
Can you do a video on how to make the boiler for your smaller engines like your secr p class I'm having trouble
Woooooaaaahhhhh nice bro thats a good bridge and a good city oh and hows the progress of the gwr 14xx doing ?
oh am i Late to comment ?
I also love the colour of the red sand to the building its quite nice and fits into the theme of your build
@@Napicsonic thanks mate! Sadly I have no plans for a 14xx at the moment. I have too many other builds going on so it’ll be a while off. Cheers :)
@@Britishbricks okay I will be waiting
All I can say is thats a big ass wall
Sure is XD
Gs-4 daylight moc?
It would be beautiful and sick to look at
Not quite sure how you're going to make the front 'nose' part actually
1:29 did I just see my terraced houses?
Cheesy studios has entered the chat
Great video where abouts you from in uk I am from the south
Hey British my dad and I have been watching for a while and wanted to know where you can get loads of parts at a great price Im planning to surprise him I'm planning on building an engine with his name on it and saw your prince of whales design I love the running gear and piston rods but I don't want to outright copy the engine is it ok to use your chassis design?
Of course! You can find where I get all of my pieces on the ‘about’ tab on my RUclips channel (wheels, bricks…etc.)
@@Britishbricks oh I never thought to check it now I feel dumb lol
Do you have any plans for a classification yard?
Can't say I have any plans for a yard of any kind, still figuring out what will go where at the moment.
@@Britishbricks That's more fun than planning it all out 6 months ahead :P
IS THAT A TRAMWAY?
Yes it is! Do you think I should keep it?
YES
Just saying but to me the viaduct dosent look very safe for your trains to go on like what if one of the supports comes loose and it all falls down
Hahah don’t worry it’s not done yet, far from it in fact. I’ve still got to build the 4 other columns. I’ve tested the main pillar and it seems to be very strong. If a train ever does fall off, I can always rebuild it :)
@@Britishbricks okay
HOW DID YOU GET ALL OF THESE?
Bricklink :)
they brought teal back, why dont they bring sand red and purple back
Nice video but, I'm so confused about this weird subtitles. They're horrible 😫.
I know they aren't ideal but it's how I prefer to do it.
Would you be upset if I where to make a bunch of youtube accounts and just subscribe to you?
I’d appreciate the effort, but there’s no need. I’m happy to wait and earn it. Thanks though :)
